My experience with Synexus
I was looked after so well. Each time I had an appointment I was picked and up and taken to the Manchester address and brought back home when the appointment was over. They also called me on a regular basis to see how I was doing.

Not really a trial.
From start to finish everyone was very friendly and professional never had any worries throughout the trial and I'd do it again if needed.

RSV trials at Hexham now just ended…
RSV trials at Hexham now just ended after almost a 3 year period. Fortnightly telephone calls to check all was well and medication hadn’t changed, plus visits for face to face appointments, all extremely professional and efficient.
From first walking into the department you were made to feel welcome and everything regarding the trial was fully explained. Couldn’t fault anything

I attended this clinic as part of a research project from March 2020 to November 2023 when I left due to going to live permanently overseas.
The clinic is indeed very fortunate to have as its head a person of the calibre of Dr. Karen Faulkner. I have had little personal reason to see her in action on the medical front, but when I have, I have been impressed by the calm, efficient assurance with which she works - the result of many years front-line experience in A and E. On a one-to- one basis I have found her to be warm, very efficient and honest - and it is these qualities that have filtered down to characterise her staff.
Her attitude to her staff is not hierarchical but warmly supportive. This is vitally important: she has a bedrock conviction in the way her staff respond best. Decency and a growth in self-confidence are the motivating factors, not fear of authority or insecurity.
Warmth and friendliness extend beyond the obvious medical side. On entering the building there is a snack bar with a very cheery lady who recalls your preferences; and similarly the attentive receptionists remember touching personal points. A drinks machine and biscuits add to the welcome. I do not believe that I am being mistaken or unduly sentimental when I say the whole unit is characterized by an 'abundance of heart'.

First class all round.
I was accepted for the trial of a new drug in 2021 with Synexus at Birmingham. My experience is 5 stars for their management of the trial which involves an infusion every three weeks, for all the staff involved who are always professional, approachable and happy to assist in any way. My whole experience of Synexus is they are ‘outstanding’.

Red trousers
I have been on the trial for over 2 years and have received professional care at all times. Each stage of the process has been carefully explained and any doubts assuaged. I do have a slight criticism is that sometimes the people conducting the 2 weekly phone calls had difficulty in understanding what I was trying to say and vice versa although we always reached a satisfactory conclusion. I have always felt happy that should some other symptoms be revealed throughout the trial I would be advised and referred to my GP. I am a little fearful of my next visit as 1 clinician has taken a liking to a particular pair of red trousers and they are not for Sale!
