Phenomenal service
I spoke with a gentleman named Billy who was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He was straightforward, concise and polite all at the same time. He should definitely be commended for his work.
Luke Meehan
Terrible service
This is by far the worst company I’ve ever had to deal with. Between not meeting deed lines, then there was problems with my log in where I was told ring back next week for 3 weeks in row, being spoke to like I was 5 years old by a woman, then I was told that I would have my deposit in my bank in 5 working days. Spoiler! It wasn’t. Then I was told it’s actually up to me now to chase the landlord for my money?! What exactly are TDS for? They don’t make the final decision for who actually gets rewarded the deposit? (Another spoiler, they actually favour landlords) so now I’m £575 down unless I take my landlord to small claims.
This company could improve by closing down and letting someone else more competent do the job!
The whole ordeal has been abysmal at best. 6 months of this dispute just to be told that I have to chase my landlord for the money?! Absolute joke of a company.

Completely worthless scheme designed to protect landlords and NOT renters.
5 weeks ago my landlord has been given keys back. £675 deposit paid. Only agreed to pay £575 back which should have been released and then the £100 in to dispute. Nothing received. Landlord has moved new tenants in with likely a double deposit and a months rent up front receiving over £2000 for this and I can’t even get the £575 back which my landlord has already released.
Do not think you are protected as a renter with this scheme ONLY landlords are protected.

A Fabulous Team!
I am incredibly grateful for the TDS NI team and how they have helped me as a tenant. Without their help, I would have been in a much worse position and really appreciate everything they have done for me. As a tenant I would highly recommend using their services! I must also say a massive thank you to everyone who I spoke to on the phone, as they were very knowledgeable and offered me great advice.

Query
Ashleen was very helpful and polite, quick response and overall excellent service
TDS took the landlords side who left me…
TDS took the landlords side who left me living in an uninhabitable property. I had the council out who couldn't get the repairs sorted either so I ended the tenancy early. Because I ended the tenancy before the stipulated time in the Contract this is the reason why the tds adjudicator sided with the landlord. I provided evidence of my deposit being paid before signing the tenancy, provided evidence of contacting the landlord repeatedly and getting ignored, provided evidence of the council inspecting the property and confirming they where getting ignored by the landlord as well. I asked for TDS to review the adjudication as all the evidence I provided was clearly ignored and was told they found the adjudicators findings to be right. All rent was also paid right up until the tenancy ended early and the termination of the tenancy was done properly through a letter and email to the landlord.
So the takeaway from this is, it doesn't matter if you pay your deposit before the tenancy agreement is wrote up (which after researching is illegal and should void the tenancy agreement) or if a landlord violates your tenancy rights and leaves you living in terrible conditions, if you end a tenancy early, TDS will side with the landlord. Also this process took approximately 5 months, with the current house pricing for letting and the cost of living crisis if you where reliant on your deposit you'd be homeless going through this scheme waiting on your deposit.
Absolutely appalling service.
