Your instincts are correct
Your instincts are correct. Telus is a scam that abuses its workforce. I'm still waiting a month later for them to pay me.
Telus Errors
Their job definition is unclear and the instructions for application seem to be confusing.
Telus should reconsider its recruitment…
Telus should reconsider its recruitment process. I took the time to read and pass all three stages required for the job, only to receive an email for the Identity Verification Process (IVP) afterward. Later, I was sent a vague rejection message stating, "We regret to inform you that your registration for our project has been declined."
For God's sake, this message should have come before the exams even applied, not after I had already passed the exam. Moreover, there was no mention of the IVP requirement from the start. This is highly unprofessional. Do they realize how much effort it took to study and pass that exam? I could have used that time for something else. Absolutely unacceptable.
My wife works for Telus we are a…
My wife works for Telus we are a family of 3, I'm disabled, our daughter is special needs,, this company has my wife working from morning till well after 1 or 2 am the next day. They have no regard to the impact on my wife's health because of this orno regard to what it's doing to our family. When they have their so called meetings I am very vocal and rude in the background. This company is breaking this family up , they care only about giving people the shaft , it's cost us for my wife to work for them ,,, this so called company should be shut down for good.
My ALARM went off when I saw that email…
My ALARM went off when I saw that email I received from so called acquisition rep did not have any information on them. As well as the person which forwarded link to record my voice. I had the same with APPEN CHINESE SCAMMERS ..for whom I did the same and made so many recordings and they acted as I was off time. I wasn't but they stole my work and never paid me.
Dutch AI prompt evaluator
I never applied to a job ad. THEY contacted ME asking if I wanted to apply for a Dutch position, and so I did.
But with no idea on what the job was about or what was on offer I asked them for at least some basic details regarding the position but hiring team would doge the questions and instead just sent automated e-mails asking me to complete their language tests first.
Those (language) tests are a joke and are full of functional and even non-intenional language errors.
I am a native speaker and localization specialist by occupation and I failed their test 3 times before passing it by deliberately selecting obviously incorrect answers!
This company is a joke and in retrospect i am so glad I did not waste more time on them. *Ervaringen met Telus International
This company is a front for identity…
This company is a front for identity fraud. They get all kinds of vital identity from you while pretending to have you do something they will disqualify you for so they don't have to pay you. Now all you did was give EVERYTHING (including your voice) and instead of ending with a paycheck you end up hurt.
TELUS mislead and misrepresent their payment methods and their requirements and advertise payment methods they refuse to use
I was given a 5 day project which was rated at 95%. I was then told I had to pay to be on their payroll. Then I had to pay for a 6 month contract. They continued to hound me for more and more money to cover this or that and would be refundable. I have been negotiating for days with the Paymaster Manager. I have just lost my inheritance from my deceased husband, and they want more money to clear the bank charges. They are despicable, misrepresenting information on their documents sent to you, List PayPal as the 1st option of payment and refuse to use that avenue. Each time another reason as to why not. All monies must be sent Cash Send or Immediate Transfer which is not possible to reverse here in South Africa. I strongly warn any person/s to stay away from them. Its one excuse after another. I have just lost my inheritance from my late husband in a matter of hours.... as "Ma'am its refundable". However must now find further funds, a great deal I might add to allow the supposed bank deposit into my local Bank. Alternative use Crypto which proved unsuccessful.Insist I loan money to pay the bank charges. I STRONGLY suggest stay away from them. They are ABOMINABLE. They can keep my "wages" JUST GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY. Stay clear of them.CEO Darren Entwistle should be horrifically ASHAMED of the company he allowed to be run into the ground and the board should call for his RESIGNATION. It’s not just me - there are HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS of similar complaints. GLASS LEWIS also gave TELUS a D grade in its pay for performance model.
CEO of TELUS Mr Entwistle should have these persons HEADs on a platter or possibly he chooses to believe that they are doing a great job of duping those of us seeking pay for an honest day's work.
An absolute shame
I completed a job for them (making several audio recordings for $30) several months ago: they assured us in their "guidelines" to give feedback 2 weeks after the deadline and send payment right after if the recordings are all valid (or let us re-record them if some aren't). No reply for months, then I finally get a reply 3 months after completing the job: they dare to tell me that I won't be paid because, according to them, my recordings are made by 2 different people, one of whom is a child. I explained that I was obviously not a child, but simply an adult with a very high-pitched voice when I don't force myself to lower it, and I asked to redo the recordings as promised, offering to give them proof that it really came from an adult alone. They never replied.
It's a disgrace to find far-fetched excuses for not paying me without respecting the rules of the contract, and it's insulting to tell someone in a high-pitched voice that she must be a child without any proof.
I had previously completed a job for them for 3 months that went well : I was actually paid $14 an hour for data collection and got around 1000$, so why suddenly rip people off for $30 ?

I got a w-2 from this company and I've never even heard of them. I'm disabled and lost insurance because of this SCAM A** Company. I called every number and could not get any answer. That don't surprise me. I can't stand a thief... People ugh
Dorain Hud.
Seems they don't like some types of backgrounds/countries
I passed the first criteria but when I submitted my document apparently my document was not good enough. It seems like they don't like some types of backgrounds or countries. After reading others reviews I'm glad of not continuing with this company.
Run overseas with unreliable service
I'm in Australia and the people who pick up the phone don't speak English fluently and the phone line is not reliable. It seems they operate in the Philippines. They keep getting my appointment wrong!
BEWARE of Las Vegas Telus Digital: Clown “Recruiters” Involved In Reverse Racism and Ageism
Pros: The application process is straightforward… until it isn’t.
Cons: Extremely unprofessional, low-paid interviewers, false promises, and a communication strategy best described as “Oops, you’re not diverse enough.”
Here’s the play-by-play of my experience:
Round 1 Interview: Conducted by a recruiter who treated clarity like a state secret. Against all odds, I “advanced” to the next stage.
Round 2: A 60-minute session with another unqualified note-taking interviewer/"hiring agent" whose smirks mixed in with fake niceties indicated to me there was no way I'm going to be hired. No feedback on our interview call —just cryptic scribbles.
The “Hire”: I was explicitly told I've been moved to the hiring process and I’d receive onboarding details by her via text. She confirmed my availability as well.
Spoiler alert: No text. No call. No follow-up. Just unprofessional silence.
Ghosting 101: When I politely followed up, both recruiters vanished faster than a VPN connection. The only “status update” was an automated email—days later—with no explanation.
When I emailed the second interviewer, shockingly she responded immediately and almost with joy said "We sent over an email regarding your application. Please refer to that email." Um, you literally told me I was hired 3 days ago...and THAT email didn't even say which position I was denied for (I applied for several roles.)
Key Takeaway Facts:
The company claims extreme “desperation to fill roles,” yet treats candidates like expired coupons.
Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Better Business Bureau, Indeed, Reddit and so many other job board reviews echo this chaos: “Worst hiring process ever,” “Zero respect for candidates.” All you need to do is Google this hack of a company to see for yourself.
Training timelines and job details? Fictional and fraudulent.
The Punchline: Telus’ clown 🤡 show of a “hiring team” seems to believe “professionalism” means gaslighting their applicants into thinking THEY were the ones who messed up.
Newsflash, Telus: Ghosting isn’t a strategy—it’s a red flag factory. 🚩
Final Verdict: If you enjoy being led on by a company that confuses “hiring” with “hide-and-seek,” Telus is your match. For the rest of us? It’s like watching a circus where the clowns run HR.
CEO Darren Entwistle should be horrifically ASHAMED of the company he allowed to be run into the ground and the board should call for his RESIGNATION. It’s not just me - there are HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS of similar complaints.
I thought it was great for Laredo
I thought it was great for Laredo, Texas to have a direct flight to Monterrey, Mexico. But it was all a terrible mistake I was booked twice on this airlines and was given a LIGHT reservation which ment I could only take my purse no luggage on board the plane. I asked if I could pay for my luggage I was told they did not accept US credit cards nor US currency nor Mexican pesos. I told them that we were in the US and they should accept my American Credit card or cash I was told that it was against airline policy. I reported the incident to the Airport Assistant Manager, she didn’t speak Spanish and was going to have a hard time communicating with the Mexican Airlines.I finally got a flight with American Airlines to Dallas to Monterrey. Terrible experience with Telus Airlines and would not recommend it to anyone!!
telus is a joke and also a scammer
telus is a joke and also a scammer! I made the mistake of applying for a job at telus. The process was a disaster, they never replied my email regarding the hiring process until I threatened them. And even though I told them I am not going to continue with this nonsense process and will not give my consent to a background check they are extremely keen on doing on me, they have been sending me emails for about 2 months now asking me to give them consent so that they could do the background check!
What part of NO don't they understand??!!?
I reported their emails, blocked them on gmail but still I receive them.
I can't wait for the day this so called company goes bankrupt!
Trash company
Was asked to apply through LinkedIn. Passed the exam, and was asked to verify myself, the link to verify never came, then followed up with email that congratulated me to ask about the verification process, and then received an automated "After careful consideration, we regret to inform you that you were not successful on this occasion and therefore we will not be proceeding further with your registration for the role." Absolute trash..
Not worth the lengthy application process
Failed the last exam (of three in total) and didn't get any further information. They ask so much of you during the admission process to then give 0 effort in their feedback. After reading the payment issues I'm glad after all I didn't pass the last part.
This company does not pay for the work…
This company does not pay for the work one does. My wife did a small engagment for them. The amount of the pay is irrelevant, what matters, is that it is impossible to get paid because Telus finds reasons why the electronic payment will not work and they blame the contractor. Contractor must jump thru numerous hoops to attempt to fix the digital payment issues. Changing profile, names and addresses over and over. It has been astounding to see every step she did that they asked and they still say she can not be paid. We have asked for escalation, there are several email addresses that bounce you from one to the other instead of solving the issue that is theirs to solve. At this point, complaints will be filed with the Department of Labor, BBB and several others. So that this does not happen to others. We will not be deterred. Telus pays via hyperwallet. Telus even sent my wife email saying hyperwallet is failing so you need to make these changes. All changes were made. Wife requested hyperwallet. At this point she started getting bounced around and told to call hyperwallet support. Which of course she did but hyperwallet support can not help if there is no record of the contractor becuase the employer could not establish the hyperwallet.. This is nonsense. Companies that do these things need to be accountable. There is no way to escalate to a point of resolution.
No answers, no help
I got accepted for work, but was unable to sign in to my account. So I asked for help emailing them to the address they gave me. During four weeks I sent several emails asking for help, but did not receive any answer. Instead, they sent me emails reproaching me for not having finished the job. In the end, I was not able to do the job. Do not waste your time on such a company.
Not worth it
You have to go through tons of unpaid or poorly compensated assessments, and then you get little to no work at all. And they keep cutting your pay too.
