Charging £200 for 30 minutes of work?

Charged £200 for 30 minutes of work consisting in drilling 6 screws and putting up a screen for a projector. The work was done ok so no complaints there, still... The work to put up the screen cost as much as the screen itself.

I am recommending RicherSounds to find a different company to install their products.

Excellent experience

Excellent experience. Dan was on time, very polite, answered all my questions, gave me two quotes and advised on the best solution. I'd be happy to recommend his company for any issues related to aerials and terrestrial TV signal.

Dreadful company didn't show up on the…

Dreadful company didn't show up on the agreed date and when they did show up several days later couldn't do the job, complete waste of time. I would avoid this firm as the guy they sent clearly didn't know what he was doing. Called another firm who showed up on time and did the job quickly at a lower cost and without fuss.

Worried OAP Gets a Satisfactory Solution From The Aerial Man

Following a change of internet provider I had issues with the supply of a TV feed to a TV within the house. Called the Firm and a couple of days later William came to the house and sorted me out within an hour. I had been advised [by others] that I would need so much more to restore my TV feed and I was expecting new equipment and a hefty bill. Not so. William listened, examined my existing network and worked out a satisfactory outcome. He was considerate and polite, clean and tidy in his work methods and went the extra mile. Very happy with the services provided by the Aerial Man.

A Good Start, but a Poor Finish

I called The Aerial Man in because I need a satellite dish replaced, and they were local, however I now wish I had looked at their scathing reviews on Trustpilot first. To be fair, the lady who took the call was very polite and helpful, and their fitters turned up 10 minutes before the appointed time the next day.

However, upon a visual inspection of the new installation from the ground after they left, I noticed the remains of a number of old bits of cable, cable ties, nuts & bolts etc. in the garden, all just dropped from the top of the fitter's ladder, with apparently, no effort made to clear them up.

Worse however, I also noticed that the end piece of the house guttering immediately above the satellite dish had come off, and was also laying broken in the garden. The installer MUST have hit the gutter whilst erecting his ladder. I contacted the company by email, showed them with photographic evidence what had happened, and asked for a contribution toward the cost of gutter repair or replacement. In a response, this was just dismissed as 'bad timing', and they denied any further responsibility. This gutter has been on the house without problem for over 40 years, and you can't tell me that the fact that it fell down within minutes of their fitter working in the immediate vicinity is just 'bad timing'!

I shall not be using this company again, and suggest others steer clear too.

Didn't show up

Booked an appointment over the telephone. Received a confirmation txt the day before the appointment but on the day no one turned up. Never heard from them again. Phoned a local guy who came round the next day and did the job no fuss at all.

Great experience

I found this review site after having work carried out by The Aerial Man and was surprised at all the negative feedback.
My experience was the total opposite. The installer was a lovely man called Andy who couldn't have been more obliging. He did an excellent job, cleaned up after himself and even went to the trouble of wearing shoe protectors whilst inside our home. We were so pleased with his service that we even gave him a nice bottle of red wine as a thankyou.
If I had seen these reviews earlier I would not have used this company, which would have been a shame as we found their service to be excellent.
Hopefully this review will go some way towards redressing the balance of this company's reputation on Trustpilot.

Ripped up new carpet and left it

The guy ripped up my brand new and newly fitted carpet to see for wires and then never put it back down again. Now i’m having to pay a carpet fitter to lay it back down. Then told me i needed the whole house wired up when I know for sure we don’t as aerial cables has been recently put in. quoted a very high price

Website says GET A QUOTE IN MINUTES

Says on the website GET A QUOTE IN MINUTES no obligation, we call you back. I was prompted to leave email address, name and number. So i phone them half hour later to find out that quotes mean an engineer must visit. I said the website says quote in minutes and a call back, told her i'd applied already. She said they'd not looked at emails yet today. Totally misleading on that website. Nobody likes to be lied to. Needless to say i went elsewhere. Lady i spoke to on the phone was honest and polite, which is the 1 positive point. Thank you whoever you was, your honesty was appreciated,

Nasty, incompetent company.

Asked them to erect my aerial which I agreed would not be guaranteed. However, a month later a gust of wind moved the aerial because it had not been fastened correctly. Would not return and fix with out a £45 charge. In the process process of doing a chargeback.
Obtained chargeback no problem.

Maybe I should have known better when…

Maybe I should have known better when this company's website claimed to be able to deal with amateur radio problems, but in reality does no such thing. (ps Amateur radio is NOT Radio Bristol...though some listeners may disagree with that, and rightly so)
I was assured by Mr Grace personally that the chap he was sending to me would be able to replace a cable, but instead I was faced with cro magnon man who wanted to know why HE had been sent to this job. In fact he iterated the sentiment that Mr Grace himself should deal with jobs such as this one, whereupon I thanked him for calling and said I would speak to their office. This person's surly and unhelpful attitude has not gone a long way to elevate this company's reputation, but more was to come when I telephoned the office. At least his Bull Terrier had a smile on it's face.
The first number I tried was answered by a 'Darren' who informed me that after I had requested a call from MR Grace when he was available

1. Mr Grace would NOT call me back when he was free
2. Unless I told HIM all that I had to say to Mr Grace he would not help further
3. When I insisted on leaving a message for Mr Grace, 'darren' ended the call.

I then called the office number supplied on the website and requested to leave a message for Mr Grace, whereupon the person who had answered informed me that HE was the manager NOT Dan Grace, but would not supply a name. This 'manager' continually talked over me making it impossible to explain the reason for wanting to contact Mr Grace and finally ended the call abruptly.....so much for customer service , professionalism and courtesy.

I attempted to explain why I had called but was met with the rudeness I have come to expect of 'backstreet' outfits, along with poorly trained employees, here in the southwest of England.
If this job was considered to be outside of their remit, why o why was anyone sent in the first place and has anyone, from manager to rigger, ever considered attending a customer relations improvement course ?
I do believe that there is a generous discount available for persons of a neolithic persuasion.
As an ex 20 year Royal Air Force Commissioned Officer, this display of bad manners and lack of respect is all to prevalent in today's society and I have now sourced another aerial rigging company, who after I had explained the previous debacle, assured me that the problem I had was well within the capabilities of the rigger they would send to me within 24 hours. Need I add that the person I spoke to regarding this matter was polite, factual and by the way...an ex serviceman himself !

Furthermore, as a long time council member of RSGB (radio society of Great Britain) full details of this most unpleasant, and most certainly one off, encounter will be entered into the public domain via the society's website and newsletter

Never again...better off sticking to what you know !
