The A World UK CIC is a non-profit organisation supporting the autistic community across the North of England. The A World UK receives no funding from outside sources, we rely solely on the generous donations of pre-loved items and the money donations from members of the public. The funds raised via the community stores and the text to donate service are used to by The A World UK to provide services to the autistic community and their families. Autism is a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition, we are proud to state that we support individuals of all ages. Unfortunately, far too many support abruptly stops when an individual reaches the age of 25, we understand and recognise that the individual will still require support regardless of their age!  Our aim is to help and support the Autistic Community through providing a variety of services, we currently offer funded holidays*, horse-riding sessions, and many more inclusive events which are held throughout the year.

Our lifeline

We have attended multiple events and benefited from a funded holiday with the a world. When i saw these events are a lifeline for us i mean it. We have 3 autistics children along with myself also having autism and these events meam we can finally do things as a family without judgement and without overload. The reduced capacity and lack of excessive stimulants ensure for a calmer easier time than during standard hours. We have avoided multiple trips out to places to avoid judgement and meltdowns due to over stimulated kids but the A world have given us the freedom to give our family normal experiences. We hadnt been away for over 6 years by the time we received a funded holiday and although we only lasted 2 nights out of the 3 booked due to the kids inability to sleep somewhere other than home it was nice to finally get away.

Reduced stress at events - Eureka!

We did our first event at Eureka yesterday afternoon and it was so good. The little ones enjoyed themselves, benefitting from a quieter session. It was also great for us as parents not to feel judged or stressed. Happy children, happy parents! We are so grateful to this charity and the events they put together. Will definitely do more and thoroughly recommend them!

My experience so far...

I'm yet to attend any events since my son has been diagnosed due to not driving and distance so I'm looking out for something I can finally get to. I have however used the service to donate clothes and bric-a-brac for their shops. I got a text to say I'd have someone collect between 8am and 10am the next day. The collecter came exactly 8:10am and collected all seven bags I donated. Very pleased. I also visit their Eccles and Salford stores often to see what bargains I can purchase myself. Great cause and great volunteers. Will continue to support this charity, and hope the favour returns when I get to attend their events :)

Amazing charity for our autistic community!

Review by Alison Bishop-Otutaha

We have been to 2 events so far with The A World with our 3 autistic boys. They organise the most amazing days out to places we would normally struggle to attend. We really are so lucky to have charities like this to arrange taking over large attractions, allowing us to have a less stressful day out that we otherwise wouldn’t be able to access. Thank you for all your hard work planning these fabulous times!!!

An invaluable service for the autistic community

We have visited the charity stores, donated to the stores using the collection service and benefited from several trips out with my son who is autistic. During every interaction we’ve been met with nothing but kindness - whether it’s with the booking team, collection staff, store staff or volunteers. The days out we’ve been on are invaluable and mean so much to families like mine who are unable to access things at peak times and were so grateful for this amazing charity.

The best!

A long but lovely day!

The A World UK CIC pulled it out of the bag yet again. The “take over” days that these guys organise really do bring home just how important it is to let our children be themselves. To allow them the autonomy the need and deserve and to embrace the way they learn and process the world around them. The Joy we witnessed from Families today was incredible.

When you’ve witnessed your children become shells of their former selves because they’ve been conditioned to mask who they are in a toxic environment for so long, to then see them as they begin to ‘unmask’ and watch as their beautiful, authentic characters start shining again is incalculable and it’s the work that The A world do and the days they organise that play such a pivotal part in that.

My babies loved today. They were curious, they were happy and they were “free”.

Every event we attend, e come away feeling validated, understood and welcomed. And for that, this incredible organisation is worth its weight in gold!

First A-World event what an experience!

We went to our first A-World event this September to Gullivers and had a great time. So great to be able to experience a day out when normally this wouldn't be possible. It was stress free! And fun for all the family, the park being shut down meant we could access all the rides, and it was a safe day out. The limited numbers really helped My daugher not get overwhelmed. My son also had a great time he went on the bigger rides! Said it was the best family day. The park has rides for all ages. We also stayed over night and picked the unicorn room, which made the experience even more special. The room was beautiful! The food on site and entertainment in evening were great. Both kids also lover the marshmallow toasting at the end! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, fun and safe event! We can't wait for the next one!

Stress free days out!

We went to our first A-World event this September to Gullivers and had an amazing time. My daughter can get overwhelmed when places are too busy and crowded so the limited numbers made all the difference! I even managed to get her on the roller coaster, I couldn’t quite persuade her to get on the boat ride though (she hates water!) We are very grateful that the A World provide these fantastic opportunities for days out that otherwise might not be possible or would be incredibly stressful! Thank you

Amazing charity doing amazing things

We have been part of The A World family for a few years now and been on many days out with them. We also had a holiday this year in their caravan. It gives our boys the chance to have their days out with reduced capacity and less stress with queueing and crowds. The break we had in July meant the park wasn't as busy as it is during the summer holidays. We love our experience with this charity

Gullivers world memories for always 💙

We recently visited Gullivers world with my little one and his younger brother. We'd never normally be able to visit these types of places on a standard weekend, but it was so amazing to see my boys having fun, sharing this experience that was so much more relaxed for my eldest son, and for me not worrying about judgement from others, just lots of understanding smiles and acknowledgement. Thank you for putting on these events that really do make the difference for families like ours, to make treasured memories.

This is a fantastic charity that…

This is a fantastic charity that supports people with autism, they have a lovely charity shop in bellevale and even offer free collection if you havecitems to donate. They provide opportunity for days out and events at a reduced cost and reduced capacity. It is so nice to be surrounded by caring understanding individuals and makes days out so much more enjoyable!! Our 7 year old son has autism and adhd, family days put csn seem do overwhelming,we attended the bewilderwood takeover event in June 2024 and it was a breath of freshair, so many friendly helpful people and a kind of unity between familys because everyone faces there own daily struggles and understands the challenges and difficulties that carers or adults and children face with autism.
This charity also kindly rent out a holiday home in blackpool to family's with autistic children who need a break, we look forward to one day having the opportunity to do this ourselves. I encourage everyone to view the website to see how you can support this wonderful charity and help them keep helping family's like ours and others.(jenna laura)
