Royal Oak Cottage is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is well equipped and the showers are in both bathrooms are excellent. The cottage is very dog friendly, the garden is enclosed and there are areas inside the house where the dogs can dry off, which are easily shut off from the rest of the cottage. There are some lovely walks from the cottage or a short drive away. We would definitely like to return for another holiday.

Excellent cottage in every way. Very spacious and clean. Well maintained enclosed garden ideal for our dog. Close proximity to Porlock a distinct advantage. Hope to return in the near future

Lovely cottage in quiet location. Good selection of maps and walking guides, and excellent walking from the door. Also easy access to Porlock for supplies and meals out.

The Stables, Lydeard St Lawrence

Lovely cottage, perfectly situated for travelling to the Quantock Hills, Dunster Castle and the coast. The cottage was beautifully decorated and had everything you could possibly need for your stay. The owners are also lovely and were very helpful when planning our day, especially walks for our dog! Loved staying at the Stables and look forward to another visit.

Easy to use website, good variety of properties across Exmoor for all occasions. Loved the house and village, in Porlock, where we stayed. Once booked kept informed via emails and owner accessible by telephone.

This property is in a great location close to walks, town and woods! The house was very nice and decoration etc good. The garage and utility space was great, especially for a dog. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again. The nice touches on arrival were great, bottle of fix and tea and coffee etc.

We just love this cottage and the surrounding area. The weather this time wasn't the kindest but just being in the cosy warm cottage was a holiday by itself. There are plenty of tea rooms and pubs around and local walks are wonderful. The cottage has excellent access by road and parking is just across the very quiet road. This is the 5th time we've stayed in this cottage- all the way from Australia.

Hare & Hounds, Exton.

We found this lovely cottage last minute and so pleased that we did. Cottage has been sympathetically renovated ,retaining period features with modern facilities. Fabulous kitchen and shower room and really appreciated the utility room for looking after our dogs.
Although we had bad weather we relaxed sitting in the conservatory listening to the birds and reading our books.
Gorgeous part of the national park . Would definitely stay again.

I think the fact that we have booked with Best of Exmoor, and stayed in one of their cottages twice now, and have already booked for next year & 2027 to avoid disappointment, speaks volumes!
The welcome bottle of wine was a nice touch - although maybe a pint of fresh milk to go with the refreshments tray for the non drinkers would be a nice idea.

Location is everything with this cottage- we loved having our own slice of this picturesque location- albeit just for a week.
The cottage is comfortable and more spacious than I had anticipated. Loved sitting outside and watching the world go by, but equally well located for interesting walks.
Equipment all worked well- although we only actually cooked twice as ther are so many eateries on the doorstep.

This is a true gem.

Cherries is absolutely lovely, everything you could possibly need is there. The little extras of Prosecco, biscuits and even milk in the fridge were gratefully accepted.

The location is perfect. Already re-booked for next year.

Booking through the Best of Exmoor was really very quick and easy and we would definitely use them again. Ruffles Cottage itself, is a lovely cosy cottage ideally situated close to all that Dunster has to offer. Great location for lots of walks. The owners were also really easy to contact and very helpful with any queries that we had. Would highly recommend, we would definitely stay again.

The Hare and Hounds has been renovated very thoughtful - while retaining the period features - to a high standard and is really well equipped with all mod cons, spotless clean and decorated with great attention to detail – for us the perfect mix of old and new.
Enjoyed cooking in the fantastic kitchen with everything you could possibly need in it, very easy to relax on the comfy sofas after a day exploring the area and very nice to wake up in the morning to this view, the shower is great – loved the complimentary body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Another bonus is the absolute beautiful garden with nice seating areas.
And I’m sure the wood burning stove will make it even cosier when you stay in the colder seasons. Welcome goodies were such a nice surprise - thank you, Jo!
