Charlie has been a legend from initial enquiry to purchase. Took delivery today, very happy with service. First place i’ve bought a car from where they actually know about the car and what they are talking about. A true breath of fresh air.

We recently bought a BMW X5 M50D - and having already bought badly before from another car dealer we were nervous about falling in the same trap again-but we didn’t need to be worried with Tim at the CarBarns- his manner thoughtfulness and above all honesty put us at ease with what we were buying as he gave us every assurance including another vehicle inspection - and a fresh 12 month MOT to prove that the car was genuine. He went over and above and would definitely purchase from him again-thankyou Tim we are very happy!

Charlie and Tim were both great from start to finish. Quick to reply, easy to deal with, and fair throughout. I wouldn't hesitiate to by a car from them again.

Selling a nice shiny car is easy. Being honourable and decent when something goes wrong post sale is much rarer and worthy of commendation.
Within a couple of weeks of buying an XF Jag from the car barns the EML came on. On investigation at the main dealers throttle body replacement was recommended. Charlie didn’t quibble about the validity of the warranty claim and the car was repaired at a convenient time and at no cost to me.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Can’t recommend these guys enough. I was lucky enough to find the right car, colour and spec that I was after at The Car Barns, although it was over an hours distance from home.

I had a couple of good conversations with Charlie on the phone and he was happy to take a holding deposit that he would refund if the car or my px weren’t as we’d described to each other.

We drove up the next weekend and Charlie looked after us so well, he was not only extremely knowledgeable about the car but also very friendly and welcoming with no pressure or sales chat, we ended up staying nearly 2 hours chatting before taking the car away.

I was a little nervous before i went, spending that kind of money but as soon as I arrived felt well looked after and 100% positive I was doing the right thing - thanks Charlie, I’ll definitely be back in touch when I’m ready to change again!

I recently purchased an BMW 335D from The Car Barns...This was the best buying experience from a car dealer that I have ever come across. At no point did I feel like there was any pressure to purchase the vehicle. I was left to myself for 30 minutes to check over the vehicle in my own time without anyone over my shoulder badgering me. Once I was ready, I went into the office to look over the paperwork and felt at ease in the company of Charlie & Tim...both very knowledgeable and genuine people. This was the first time I have purchased a car from a dealer and did not get any aftersales rubish thrown at me for the salesman to make some extra commision. I will certainley return to The Car Barns when changing my wifes car next year.

I traded in my Mercedes for a Jaguar XJ with Charlie. When I turned up the Jaguar was everything he said it was and had been detailed to the highest standard by Ben who was also very helpful.
Charlie couldn’t have been nicer or more professional and efficient. He made everything simple and very clear.
He even found a hotel for me.
I have never felt safer buying a car. Can totally recommend the Car Barns to anyone thinking of using them. Great coffee too.

Heard some poor reviews particularly in relation to Tim buying cars from private sellers via car wow Motorway etc and felt the need to post a positive one. My experience with Tim has been really positive. Some things naturally need to be resolved via communication as part of any transaction especially when done remotely, however the transaction was handled professionally and everything done as said. Funds cleared (approaching £100k) as said and jointly agreed, and we worked together with the Finance company to ensure all cleared in time for transport. Overall would be happy to deal with Tim again. Cheers Matt

Charlie was very helpful and professional from start to finish. Wasn’t the most straight forward of purchases with lots of curveballs being thrown but each one was dealt with swiftly and I was always kept up to date about the progress. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase now and will definitely be back again when I fancy a change of cars again

Recently purchased a Ford Ranger.
Worked out a deal the day before. Given an honest detailed description on the phone and it was exactly what they had told me when I came to see it and fully lived up to my expectations.
I was picked up from the station on time. The Ranger was immaculate, cleaned and valeted and ready to go.
Paid my money and drove away very happy.
Really can't be faulted, excellent service.
Would highly recommend this place and I will certainly be back in the future when its time for a change.

Tim Boler from carbarns, Purchased my tesla model 3 via motorway on 11/06/2022. Emailed me on Sunday 12/06/2022 to collect and we agreed on next Friday 17/06/2022.

Till Thursday 16/06/2022 no contact or reply, I tried to contact 5 times to get collection time on Friday and was ignored and replied via text saying either in an area where no reception (but he can text!!) or will give a call, On Friday Morning emailed saying still waiting for the fund from bank to come and collect my car, similar email thought day but never called to explain.

I wasted Friday staying at home and finally after numerous calls managed to talk to him and said still coming to collect the car and will be there today as soon as he gets monies

I contacted Motorway on Friday and was told Tim Boler is not responding to the account manager's call and email as well. I just did a quick google search and found many others with similar experiences Tim Boler bought a car from them via Motorway but never came to collect it.

Please try to avoid selling the car to him/his company as it wasted my week of time and never called or apologies as a courtesy

Also just advise Tim Boler, If you do not have monies please do not buy a car(I know how cashflow works but please you don’t commit to buying something where you do not know cashflow or pre-approval from your lender)

Update: After my review, TheCarnBarns replied to the review saying the car in my friend's name is a total lie as they have done in past, the car is under my wife's name and it was listed by her on Motorway with the correct V5C.

Also, Motorway investigated TheCarnBarns after my review, and they found a number of other similar cases, and Motorway has permanently banned them from the platform.

Sold my car via motorway to the car barns - a straight forward , fast process. Both Charlie and Tim were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely use their services in the future when buying or selling a vehicle!

From the initial enquiry through to taking ownership of my Jaguar XJR575 the whole experience dealing with The Car Barns has been a pleasure.

Throughout the sales process Charlie has been fantastic to deal with, from his professional, relaxed but attentive attitude, even allowing me to have an unaccompanied test drive, which put me at ease and proved to me this was a dealer who works on mutual trust.

Charlie also managed to find us a very competitive finance deal which suited my budget and took my existing car in as a part exchange (also a Jaguar XJ).

On the day of collection the car looked like new, such was the level of detailing that had gone into it, proves to me that they really go above and beyond what an ordinary run of the mill dealer would do.

During ownership, a split CV boot was picked up on the rear of the car following a vehicle health check for a prospective warranty. Contacted The Car Barns who authorised and arranged for the repair to be carried out F.O.C under their 3 month warranty.

I cannot recommend them highly enough, they even offered to buy the car back should I come to sell in future. Thanks Charlie and The Car Barns!

I am with Eric this guy cannot be trusted. I am found the whole experience dreadful, full of empty promises. There are plenty one man band dealers out there and small independents who will give you the experienced promised by Tim ha ha ha you won't find it here so steer clear of this little man

I bought a £75k Range Rover only to discover the car had been involved in an accident on the passenger side front end even though the hpi was clear. The bumper and front wing had been repaired very poorly even by a £2k car standards. Before i went to collect the car i asked Tim the owner of The Car Barns multiple times if it had any issues, any dents or even small scratches and repeatedly lied by saying NO, the car is in perfect condition. He did not disclose the accident or any of the faults the car had.
When i collected the car, I didn’t see the repair because it was a grey and rainy day. I discovered the repair next day after i had collected the car, went to a professional workshop to confirm and so they did. I contacted Tim asking to return the car, he refused to take the car and came up with all kind of excuses and contradictions, even accusing me of having had the accident and repaired it all within 48hrs of purchase. BIZAREE CHARACTER! He also told me there were no technical issues but the sensor parking sensor on the accidented part of the bumper did not work. Reverse camera was faulty, one of the wheels was mat and the other 3 were gloss, rear entertainment has a broken plastic cover, yet he told me the car was perfect. DO NOT TRUST A WORD THIS MAN SAYS! DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS MAN OR FIRM, BUY ELSEWHERE EVEN IF YOU PAY MORE. YOU ARE GARANTEED TO HAVE ISSUES WITH TIM. READ THE OTHER PEOPLES FEEDBACK! IF YOU DO BUY A CAR, USE A CREDIT CARD SO YOU CAN CLAIM BACK ANY DAMAGES. HE CANT CHARGE YOU A FEE FOR USING A CARD ITS ILEGAL! If he threatens you legally, ignore him they are all empty threats, a tactic he uses all the time. Currently liaising with Trading standards and my lawyer because i can afford one but if you cant, don’t feel scared by his legal threats. Get everything in writing whatsapp email. You can get free lawyer from citizens advice bureau.
