Norwich Branch: My first time going to the Cornish Bakery, the Shakshuka Croissant was lovely and so was the coffee (latte). However, I found the customer service let my experience down. Queued at 8:3... See more

Tintagel Branch
Your Tintagel branch is one of the best coffee and pastry shops in Cornwall and possibly around!
It's always clean, tidy, warm and more importantly, welcoming!
I think that I have tried all the flavours of pasty, and find them all perfect.
I don't understand why the shape of the scones or scones have changed, I did prefer them round!
Thank you for giving me my daily dose of caffeine!

I asked for two oat milk drinks and both were preapered with full fat milk. I could not only taste that it was not oat but I also watched them prepare the drinks with normal milk! Do not go here with an allergy

Rip off customers …
I went to purchase a cake from there today clearly marked as 2.90 got to the till and they were about to charge 3.15 , 20 pence extra , was given no reason why , however legally they have to sell at price advertised. The server refused so I took my custom else where , potential customers check the price you’re paying as it appears they are making up prices as they go along . Go to judges bakers much cheaper , better quality and friendly staff

Cirencester store
My friend and I went into the new store opened in Cirencester and found it very warm and welcoming.
All the staff were very helpful and we spent some time taking to Shell the manager . She was lovely and very informative.
The store is beautiful and although it had only been opened 2 days the atmosphere was electric which we put down to the manager and all the staff working together.
We will definitely be using this lovely cafe again not only because of the delicious pastries and cakes on offer but because of the lovely atmosphere of the cafe on site .

Highly recommend- Cornish Bakery Winchester
We recently visited the Cornish Bakery in Winchester. Bit of a queue, but it moved quickly. We were able to take our dog in, which was perfect. Plenty of space around the tables to accommodate dogs and families with buggies etc. The staff were really friendly and were all working hard. I had the shakshuka croissant which was absolutely delicious! Husband had Chicken Masala pasty, which was also lovely. Coffee was great too, served with a smile! A really nice experience all round! Keep up the good work!

Cornish bakery Braintree
We are regular shoppers at Braintree and always visit Cornish bakery. Every time our experience the same and so from
Now on will visit pret instead!
Staff unfriendly - only occasional smile if you lucky! Unhelpful - every request from us or observing others is received as if too much bother!
Overpriced -5 pounds for ham hock and mustard roll - struggled to find ham or mustard but did have mayo!!
Cornish pasty 5.55 - hardly any filling - certainly not like the ones in Cornwall - which surprised me as I thought they would have shipped in frozen!
Dirty tables - most tables free - but dirty trays and plates in most of them!
After today’s experience- walked up to Pret - didn’t want anything but immediately met with smiles and their ham hock and mustard baguette same price but double the size and you could see the ham!
Such a shame but today was final attempt - we love the chain generally!

Review for Cornish Bakery in Falmouth
Review for Cornish Bakery, Falmouth
Called in for a coffee to shelter from the rain - sadly very disappointed on many counts.
We found a seat upstairs (it was full downstairs) and was told to come down and pay when you are ready to order - clearly no table service.
We then needed to go outside of the shop, in the rain, to join the takeaway queue, to place our order even though we were seated inside. Why no table service if they offer seating?
We were then told that we would be called when the drinks were ready. This duly happened but no way were these going to be bought to us. If the stairs are too steep for the staff then they are too steep for customers to carry their own drinks up to.
If short of staff, employ 1 or 2 more as there are plenty of people wanting jobs but dont mix takeaway with seated (especially when paying a premium to eat in).
Coffee quality - poor and cold, cakes expensive/tasteless and service without a smile. If that is the way to run a business then I will not be returning there anytime soon until they change their processes. Simply put, if you eat in expect to be served and not have to queue outside in the rain for food and drink. Customers pay your wages so make the experience good for them if you want repeat business.
Edit following response on 14/01023
When you run a business you should ALWAYS put the customer first irrespective of if you are having maybe a bad day. What I experienced was appalling, no service to tables, not taking drinks upstairs but expecting elderly people to come down and get them and then take them back up, but worst of all having to join the take away queue outside the shop for food, in the rain when we had selected to eat/drink inside which I and my friends/family found totally unacceptable. If you wont take drinks upstairs dont expect customers to come down to do that job.
Will I return - more chance of platting fog I feel sums it up nicely. In towns like Falmouth you need that business - but please amend your policies of not taking food and drinks upstairs and for people eating in stop the inane queuing outside on to the street which is unacceptable.

New MK store
Visited the new store in MK shopping centre today (opening Monday) and was very impressed with the service from staff (who were all lovely), the tidiness and cleanliness. We had a traditional pasty, a chicken massalla pasty, a bronut and almond crossiant with a tea and a coffee. All the food was delicious and great portion sizes! Really recommend the Bronut and the Chicken Pasty!!

On a days shopping trip we stopped for a coffee & Cornish pasty. The staff behind the counter seemed very stressed & quite miserable. The tables needed clearing and a good clean. We asked for cutlery & were told there wasn’t any & also salt & pepper none of that either. You charge extra to sit in to eat & quite honestly I would not recommend.

Cornish bakery with no pasties.
Went to the new Chelmsford branch today for the first time at 4pm - they close at 6pm - no traditional Cornish pasties. Pointless!

Appalling service, store and corporate
I visited the Salisbury branch in the afternoon with my daughter, intending to pick up pastries for breakfast the following day.
It was a few minutes before 5pm, when they close (though the opening times are not posted anywhere in the front of the store).
As we were inches from the door, which was open, a staff member (young & female) who was clearing a table by the door, saw us, made eye contact with me, reached out, and slammed the door in my face.
Needless to say I was astonished and rather embarrassed. I stood there for a couple of moments not quite willing to accept what had just happened. Another woman was standing outside the door, and she leant over to me and told me by saw what had happened, she was shocked, and she thought I should complain.
I wrote to the company via the website describing what had happened. It took more than a week to receive a reply. The person replying said this wasn't the service expected and suggested I come back to the store and speak with them and get a pastry.
Quite frankly, having been treated in such a manner, I had no wish to go back into the store and explain myself for the sake of a free croissant. If they want to get customers back through the door after being treated so badly they need to offer an actual incentive, rather than requiring them to justify themselves a second time to the staff in person. It was embarrassing enough to have a door slammed in my face, I don't think anyone should have to go cap in hand to make up for it. They were in the wrong.
As it stands, I don't go there any more, and I don't advise others to do so either.

Unique pasties
Out for the day decided to grab a take away pasty. Lots of options and all sound amazing. I went for the Chicken Masala pasty. Delicious!

Card payment only😂
Card only payment. Shocking that they say card is safer. Won’t be buying from there again. I know we are in Winchester but cash is legal tender. Absolutely a disgrace to this new shop.
