Do yourself a favour, don't order anything not currently in stock
TheEduStore is not fulfilling any of the higher end 16' MacBookPro orders, a lot of customers are angry for unfulfilled orders of over 60 days - some orders as far back as October are still 'in progress' with no end in sight.
This is a message to TheEduStore, this is unacceptable, please fulfll these orders, and provide some communication to those still waiting.
To anyone thinking of ordering anything not currently in stock, please dont! Unless you are ready wait forever.
Ordered and delivered!
Ordered a MacBook Pro 14 and it came within 3 weeks. Support responded quickly to any of my queries. Really good service and really good prices. NOTE: the order status section always mentions ‘In progress’. It was like that for me until the day before delivery where I got a message with a delivery date so don’t be scared if your order hasn’t been updated in a week or two.
🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Delivered after two weeks where it said 30 days . Good packaging. A telephone line for general enquiries should be present at 2021-22. It’s surprising how govt is allowing them to run business without a modern customer service. For the price theedustore is the best no doubt on that , a fast and proper customer service system ( except email that they take five days to respond) could make them outstanding in every way.
Great price, no issues – recommended!
Ordered a 2021 MacBook Pro in mid-November. At the time, the lead time was advertised as "usually ships within 30 days". I was a bit worried whether it would arrive before Christmas given the ambiguous phrasing, so I contacted their support via email. Not a day later I had a reply in my inbox, informing me that they'd ship the laptop out directly after receiving it from Apple, and couldn't offer a more detailed forecast. The laptop indeed showed up without any issues within a month.
I missed the customisation functionality from the Apple store, but the price was so much better than the one directly offered by Apple that ordering from theEDUstore was a no-brainer.
Pleasantly Surprised
I read a lot of mixed reviews about this company, so I was very cautious in my decision and bought with a credit card to make sure that I was covered by section 75. My laptop turned up well within the allocated time of within 30 working days (18 days). The MacBook pro 14 inch was very well packaged and received well. The communication could have been better, but this far-surpassed my expectations for the price difference, when compared to the Apple store.
Worst buying experience I’ve ever had.
Ordered a 16” M1 MacBook Pro Max on 29th October and I still haven’t received it as of the 29th of January, (92 days and counting)
Today I cancelled my order.
No communication, no ETA, no laptop.
They take the money straight away when you order (over £2700)
The website said ‘usually dispatches within 36 days’ when I ordered and it’s been over 92 days (over 13 weeks / 3 months) and still nothing.
Now, the website says ‘usually dispatches in 30 days’ which is highly deceptive. (Edit- after 3 months, now says 56 days, which is still deceptive. Edit 2- they’ve taken the max models off sale, finally done what other retailers have done)
The edustore has no contact phone number, email only. The phone number they have in the small print doesn’t work.
I still don’t know what’s going on or when to expect the laptop.
If it wasn’t for the positive reviews on here I would think I’ve been scammed, that’s how bad an experience it has been.
If these 5 star reviews are to be believed, the edustore must be so incompetent that they are unable to even send the MacBooks out in the order they receive orders.
See the latest reviews…..How can someone get a 14” MacBook delivered within 24 hours of ordering when people have been waiting 3 months? Alarm bells ringing yet? They should be.
In order to actually speak with the edustore you have to call their parent company XMA (01158464000).
If you do, they just literally don’t say anything. Just silence. No info, no explanation, no justification.
My advice would be to buy from the apple store with educational discount through UNiDAYS and save yourself a lot of stress and disappointment.
The new models will be out by the time edustore get any stock at this rate.
Need it for a course at uni? good luck, you might as well write the first trimester off.
When I ordered my MacBook back on October 29th every single retailer had them in stock for a month after I ordered (john Lewis, very, curry’s, pc world, apple etc) before selling out. I literally could have bought it from anywhere else and had it delivered two to three months ago.
To top it off, on the 3rd of Jan, box.uk, Curry’s/PC World, Scan, John Lewis and even QVC UK all have 16” M1 MacBooks back in stock ready for delivery the next day.
I contacted the edustore with this info and they still don’t know when they are getting any after 92 days of waiting.
The last time I spoke to them I was told that when there is a shortage Apple prioritise the consumer outlets first.
No mention of that on the site.
They try to fob you off saying it’s working days not actual days (that old chestnut) even though the site doesn’t say this on the order page.
Either way business days, regular days or unicorn days, it’s well overdue.
On the 4th of January, I ordered one through UNiDAYS/apple education and my MacBook arrives on January 31st. (They let you know straight away)
Something edustore haven’t been able to manage for 92 days and counting.
Speaks volumes.
UNiDAYS don’t take your money until dispatch, unlike the edustore who have been sitting on £2700+ of my money for over 3 months now.
The amount of money they must have made from interest alone from everyone’s orders is criminal.
Maybe that’s the scam. Hold onto hundreds of thousand of pounds of peoples money, earning interest until they cancel and then refund them
Just buy from anywhere else, it isn’t worth the stress, especially now the prices are higher than UNiDAYS.
If it’s not in stock run a mile,
if you want any form of customer service, run a mile,
if you like a phone number to be able to contact them, run a mile.
If you like to be updated on your order, (once every 3 months or less), run a mile.
It wouldn’t surprise me if this edustore was a one man show ran by someone in their bedroom.
They can’t even keep their phone number working for crying out loud.
They are inept on so many levels and their business model and ETA’s are based on dreams and fantasy.
Trading standards should be involved in this and money from interest should be given back to the customers who have been royally duped for the last three months.
Just go to UNiDAYS and don’t look back!
They think they are smart taking orders but as they disappoint more and more people they are going to get more one star reviews.
I’ve already watched their trust pilot score drop from 4.5 to 4.1 star reviews over the last 3 months.
Taking peoples money and not delivering for over a quarter of a year is not a sustainable business plan.
Be warned!
Edit- on Jan 18th some people have had a delivery notification from the edustore for the spec I ordered, still nothing from my 29th October order. They assured me in November I was in the next batch of deliveries. Just Lies
The edustore are literally 3 months behind on orders, no wonder they’ve put their prices up! They cannot deliver! (Or apologise, or explain, or even send you a heads up email)
Excellent price
Excellent price. Reliable. Good customer service (though no phone number, email was replied quickly).
Lead times are off the charts
Ordered a Macbook Pro. The website says dispatch in 30 days. After contacting them for an eta the 30 days has turned into 30 WORKING days.
Big difference. I cancelled and was told it’s 7-10 working days to process a refund! Yes - that’s correct 7-10 working days
You won't ever receive your laptop.
❌ Warning: Avoid At All Cost, you won't get the laptop...❌
In brief: They keep you money on hold until you lose patience, and request refund.
Before you go ahead and place an order, have a look at all the 1-star reviews, that's what WILL HAPPEN TO YOU 100%..
For myself they took my money for 2 Month. I ordered on 21th.Oct. And they refund me on 20th.Dec.
Long waiting times
I've waited a month for delivery of my 16 inch Macbook Pro 1TB and finally gave up yesterday and asked for a refund. It's frustrating if the company doesn't get stock but at the same time, from the customer's point of view, there's no information provided after you order on expected delivery dates either. So you're waiting in limbo, not knowing if or when it will arrive. Using another credit card, for the extra £200 I ordered from Applestore with the Educational discount and it was delivered by courier within 3 hours on the same day!!! At least my refund was processed fairly quickly.
M1 Macbooks - Wait times ridiculous.
M1 Macbooks - Huge Wait Times. I am now close to 60 days waiting for the delivery of a Macbook M1 Max 16-Inch that I ordered from the Edustore. The ETA was 36 days. This has now changed on the product page to 30. £2,700+ spent and nothing so far to show for it. I get that this is the most sought after laptop of the year and stock is thin on the ground even for Apple... but had I ordered this anywhere else on the 22nd of October - I'd 100% be typing this review on the Macbook I'm owed! I even had to email for an update and state my disappointment that they did a £75 discount on my model for Black Friday. How and why are they still taking orders if they cant fulfil orders placed months ago?
*Update 28th December - Still no ETA given. Currently preparing to begin refund process and order from Apple Education (£254 more but guaranteed delivery for end of Jan)
Some of these 5* reviews looking a little odd "ordered multiple MacBook pros for myself" ...ok sure.
Update: now waited for 75 days. 20.55% of a year. There is a reason I ordered in October and that was to gain an advantage to using the Laptop before other creatives catch up with the more affordable Macbook Airs in the summer. Going to wait for a reply and then ultimately cancel and have a confirmed delivery date by apple education.
**Macbook M1 Max's have been taken off of the store after stating a 56 day lead time! Someone has also mentioned they have pushed their prices up, I'm guessing to deal with the cancelled orders of the M1 Max**
Fantastic sevice and product
Very convenient and value for money
easy to find; reasonable pricing; super fast delivery
Highly satisfactory
I’m highly contented with purchasing on your website. Quick delivery and safe packages! If I have another chance to buy some the others, will definitely make it on here! Many thanks for all!
The order process was smooth and the…
The order process was smooth and the price was excellent. I was surprised to see notification of delivery of my new computer only four days after I made the order.
Very good service
Great price (cheapest MacBook Air available) and prompt delivery. I was a bit sceptical after placing the order as reviews of others experience worried me, however I have found these unfounded and am extremely pleased with my order.
Very good, fast and efficient!
Fast and efficient, received my Mac book within 2 working days from order, Had a tracking number within 24 hours of ordering and parcel arrived day after, no issues with delivery very well packaged and no chance of damage caused to the laptop. Overall a good service but would recommend some sort of live chat between office hours for order queries and product queries.
Quick delivery and easy process
