Hi there, thanks for your review, it's always valuable to know how our customers feel about us.

I'm sorry to hear you found our prices a little high, although I can't actually find a UK supplier with the knife you bought any cheaper, apart from when on sale which I guess is understandable.

Comparisons to prices from Japan need careful calculation as there are taxes and duties to pay which can add over 30% of the purchase price and postage cost. We pay all import taxes and duty, so our customers don't have to wait for international delivery or see any surprise costs either.

We do alot of work each week to ensure our prices remain competitive in the UK and international markets, as much as it possible for us to be.

It is also worth noting some suppliers in the UK sell a similar looking range which is 17 layers, not 33 layers like ours. This is often called 'moonlit waves' and doesn't mention the number of layers. This 17 layer range is a cheaper range, and shouldn't be compared in price to the 33 layer version.

Hi Coralie,

We're really happy you like the knives and are happy with the service. We do also sell sheaths for the knives, but I'm afraid these don't come as standard unless pictured or explained in the description. All our knives come boxed and packaged safely, often in a plastic blade safety cover. If you can let us know what in the description was misleading on this it would be helpful, so we can change it and make sure it is more clear.
