This was one of the best holidays ever
This was one of the best holidays ever. The Slow Cyclist has a knack of finding places well off the beaten track without another tourist in sight, yet with fascinating topography and history. All supported by an obliging, hard-working and knowledgeable team. Charming village accommodation and great food made this an outstanding few days. Great electric bikes meant that the steepest hills held no terrors. In addition, wonderful walks and wild swimming for those who could take the chill of mountain streams.
Zagori with the Slow Cyclist
Zagori is a beautiful place and the Slow Cyclist team looked after us and organised everything brilliantly. Ten out of ten.
Can't praise TSC team enough

Wonderful 5 days
Wonderful 5 days, beautifully organised. Fabulous scenery; perfect amount of biking and walking; delicious food; charming accommodation and fantastic guides.
Back from a trip to the Mani a week or…
Back from a trip to the Mani a week or so ago, so having had time to reflect. An extended family group on electric bikes. We had huge fun and a very happy time in a lovely part of the Peloponnese. The cycling was not strenuous because of the electric bikes, but one felt nicely tired each day. The swimming stops at various beaches were a bonus. The food was local and delicious. The Slow Cyclist team were exceptional and one really didn't have to think or worry about anything. The short talks about the history of where we were at stopping points were fascinating. Thoroughly recommended from someone who previously has been on a (similarly excellent) trip to Transylvania.
A magical few days....
A magical few days with everything you could hope for, fabulous guides, exercise, culture, great food and wine accompanied by a lot of laughter!
Simply brilliant
Overall well worth it but quite expensive for room quality
Loved the trip. Accommodation well below standard on 2 nights with no hot water and the view of a wall. They did rectify this to give lovely rooms for remaining holiday. Lunch venues amazing. Very educational. Off the beaten track as saw no tourists which was sublime. Food delicious. Scenery incredible. Fitness levels needed to be higher than expected.
Exceeded expectations
Exceeded expectations, Zagori region was stunning and the routes we walked and cycled were amazing. Excellent tour guides and very well organised plans. 5 star all round!

A totally inspiring trip to a hidden gem, possibly the most beautiful place I have ever been to. Amazing attention to detail with wonderful, knowledgable guides. I am already planning my next trip!
fantastic trip
A trip of a lifetime, which exceeded expectations,The guides were first class, very knowledgable about the area, its history and people etc and the organisation/logistics were faultless. Stunning countryside and villages, delicious local food and wines and some incredible (but manageable ) cycling
Immaculately organised
Immaculately organised, a great holiday for a random, healthwise at least, group of 8.
Fantastic trip in Transylvania
We had a really wonderful few days with the Slow Cyclist team in Transylvania - our every need was taken care of and the team were constantly at hand to answer queries and and make our holiday as happy as possible. The landscape is out of this world and the places we stayed in were interesting and different, but also comfortable. Some barking dogs in the vicinity on occasion so I was happy to have ear plugs at night. Food was good, sometimes excellent. My only comment would be that on our last night, the duvet on the double bed was rather small. Also, it seemed a shame that in the same hotel, the bathrooms were kindly supplied with shampoo and soap, but not Romanian, which seemed a shame. Well done Slow Cyclist team - another wonderful, unforgettable holiday.
Mani Peninsula
A wonderful trip to a truly beautiful part of Greece. This was my second Slow Cyclist holiday (the first was to Romania) and I couldn't recommend Oli and his team more highly
Incredible holiday with excellent guides
What a wonderful holiday with excellent guides in one of the most beautiful places in Europe. The best way to see the Mani is by bike through idyllic villages to hidden beaches and sparkling turquoise sea following flower-lined ancient tracks and along empty roads.
AMAZING!
absolutely one of the best holidays we have ever had. Didn't even know Greece had such beautiful mountain areas and pretty mountain villages. The food was fantastic and every detail was carefully thought out.
Loved every minute!
A magical journey
A brilliant trip from start to finish! Wonderfully helpful guides- practical, informative and great fun. And a terrific ‘nanny’ to administer all of our team’s myriad requests.
A well planned and thought through journey through extraordinary rolling, beech wooded countryside which you have to see to believe, interspersed with delightful lunches In rustic homes and settings.
Well earned night stops in different, very comfortable houses/b&b’s. Lot’s of delicious food and wine to work off the next day😊
In short a magical holiday. We look forward to the next Slow Cyclist adventure!
A truly unforgettable experience in the mountains of northern Greece
If you've read the other reviews on this page then it won't surpise you to read that i too experienced what i can only describe as a perfect combination of fun, laughter and adventure that represented an extraordinarily well constructed holiday which i will never forget. I joined 10 perfect strangers of different ages and by the end, i left with 10 friends for life. The organisation, the care, the attention to detail - it was simply exceptional. The routes we travelled, on foot and by bike, were stunning. The food and wine we enjoyed all along the way from dawn until dusk were first class. We stayed in the most beautiful and comfortable family run guest houses with heart and soul where every little detail was taken care of. We were guided and entertained by very knowledgeable and entertaining guides and i learnt heaps about Byzantine and Greek history and the hugely rich flora and fauna along the way. We were not blessed with great weather but honestly, it really did not matter one iota because the hosting team were always several steps ahead, amending the itinerary on the fly and ensuring that we always ended up warm, dry, well watered and fed sumptiously. If you enjoy the important things in life then Slow Cyclist will be your happy place. And everyone should have it on their bucket list to enjoy a Slow Cyclist lunch, set up beautifully in the middle of nowhere with everything you could possibly ask for. I loved every single minute and cannot wait for my next trip.
The Slow Cyclist take a leisurely cycling holiday to the next level!
I took a Slow Cyclist trip in early May to Zagori in north-west Greece. It's a very beautiful mountainous region close to the Albanian border, rich in history and geological features. The level of support and hospitality provided was first-rate, I can not fault a single minute of the trip and would highly recommend traveling with this thoughtful, warm and meticulous company. The e-bikes were brilliant, as were the tour hosts and guides. We hiked and biked at a wonderful pace through the valleys, gorges, rivers, enjoying some wild swimming and taking in the culture and history. One of the best things was how truly relaxed I felt, as so much of the work was done for us, it meant I could really focus on the nature (nightingales, eagles, tortoises!) the views, and the culinary delights. I can’t wait to go on another Slow Cyclist trip!
