The Slow Cyclist - Zagori
My trip with the ‘The Slow Cyclist’ to Greece was absolutely amazing! I couldn’t recommend it more. So well organised. Sally was such a good host and really looked after us well. Her attention to detail was outstanding and it made all the difference to the holiday. Also it was such a lovely group which made the holiday so much more fun. I thoroughly enjoyed the cycling, particular the electric element (e-bikes were essential!!). It made the experience far more exciting and easier. The guides were superb and they really looked after us well. They did such a good job ensuring that we were happy and safe. It did feel very relaxing despite all the hills and the scenery was beautiful. I loved the walking too and I thought Josh was an outstanding tour guide. He really knew his stuff and looked after us so well. He was incredibly engaging and it was interesting to learn so much about Zagori. The weather wasn’t great and I would recommend warm clothes and good walking shoes. It’s really lovely to go on a trip like this where every detail is planned and you don’t have to think of anything or pay for anything. It makes such a difference to a holiday. I also loved the coffee stops and the pace of the trip. You never felt rushed. It was great to be able to stop and take photos and appreciate the scenery. The accommodation was first rate too. The guest houses were very good indeed and very comfortable. Each evening we were at a new place and our bags would be delivered to our rooms and the heating was turned on. This was essential as most of the days were quite cold and wet and all we wanted to do was relax and keep warm before dinner. The beds were extremely comfortable. I must also mention about the amazing pillows that were provided by Sally and the team each night. I cannot tell you how much of a difference that made to my sleep! Thank you. The food throughout the trip was delicious. I am someone who likes my food and wine and honestly, I felt the food and wine were delicious. Much of the wine was produced by ‘The Slow Cyclist’ team. This was such a great idea. The red wine was particularly good I thought. The lunches in particular were very luxury indeed. All the lunches were cleverly planned with table service, mostly on top of mountains (not in restaurants). Surrounded by the most beautiful scenery, you couldn’t ask for more. Delicious food and drinks served with such great company.
Lastly, I’d like to thank Sally and all the team for such a lovely holiday. I couldn’t recommend ‘The Slow Cyclist’ more. A truly memorable experience!

Treading lightly in Transylvania
An outdoors holiday by ebike and on foot. Knowledgeable and considerate guides and hosts all the way. Delicious home cooked traditional food often served in locals’ homes. Wonderful scenery and nature altogether a real insight into this fascinating land.
A travel experience not to be missed
Having experienced 2 Slow Cyclist trips now, their quality of delivery and attention to detail mean it is no surprise that many of their clients keep coming back for more.
Facilitating our discovery of beautiful, fairly remote locations, providing good comfortable accommodation, quality locally sourced food, visits to interesting local artisans and enabling a tourist experience which positively supports quite isolated rural communities is very appealing.
A ‘road less travelled’ with a few creature comforts thrown in - what’s not to like?
Zagori
For a magical holiday which surpasses all expectations look no further! Remote villages, fabulous cycles and walks, warm hospitality, historic insights, gastronomic delights on mountain tops and the loveliest of places to stay and explore hidden Greece- all form part of this adventure!
Mani bike trip
A really special trip and looked after superbly by the Slow Cyclist team.

Fabulous adventure in Transylvania with The Slow Cyclist - e biking and hiking from one Saxon village to another. Stayed in characterful village houses and enjoyed delicious meals all from home grown and local produce. Also excellent Romanian wines! Expert tuition provided by the guides for those less experienced on the e bikes. Lots of little touches that make this a really special trip. Once you set off from the start point you go all the way by bike or hike - no vehicle transfers.
A very special holiday
A very special holiday in a beautiful part of the world. It was well organised and good fun. The guides were excellent. In all, a memorable and very happy holiday.
Wonderful trip to the Mani April 2022
We had a wonderful tip to the Mani with the Slow Cyclist. it's my 3rd trip with them having already done Transylvania and Zagori. We were treated like royalty from the moment we were met at the airport, we had two gorgeous places to stay in the mountains and by the sea, did some epic rides (up and down!) on e-bikes and had amazing local food and wine. The group really gelled but what made it was that the Slow Cyclist literally think of everything and while you are 'on tour' you really don't have to organise a thing.
Thoroughly recommend the Slow Cyclist Mani trip - compared to the first two trips I did it was every bit as good but less walking on this one, more cycling.
The Magical Mani Peninsula
Thank you to Jaco, Katja, Vangelis and Nick for unveiling the magic of the Mani peninsula to us. You found us the best off road tracks, ancient villages, hidden chapels, breathtaking views of mountains and sea, pitch perfect accommodation and wonderful picnic spots and restaurants. In doing so you provided 6 friends with the perfect platform to reunite and create happy memories that will last us a lifetime. You left no stone unturned to make our trip truly special.

This was a trip of a lifetime
This was a trip of a lifetime. Our whole family absolutely loved the experience in Transylvania and we highly recommend The Slow Cyclist team and their incredible efficiency and friendly service, as we e-biked in Romania. Our guide had outstanding local knowledge and our host was so brilliantly organised, we really could not have wished for more.
Slow Cyclist Transylvania was a dream…
Slow Cyclist Transylvania was a dream come true. Every detail was thoughtfully planned and organized. The team of guides was perfect and so kind, they felt like old friends by the end of our time with them. Being able to experience Transylvania with Slow Cyclist exposed us to the wonderful people and culture of Romania in such a genuine way. We left with a real appreciation for the people and history, a sense of accomplishment from cycling the beautiful landscape, and a LOVE of Romanian food. We will always hold a feeling of nostalgia for this place and our time spent here with good friends.
Loved Them All.
Done Tansylvania, Zagori and Mani. The team have absolutely loved them all and ready for the next one. The organisation and attention to detail is Second To None. They have all been just enormous fun!
Experience of a lifetime
I can't say enough good things about our recent trip with The Slow Cyclist in Transylvania. The host and guides were top notch. They were fun, knowledgable and experienced. The accommodations were not only cozy and hospitable, but they also a gave us a snapshot of Saxon life in Transylvania. And the food...I could go on and on about the food. If you are looking for an incredible experience that mixes laid back cycling, delicious locally-sourced food, and an opportunity to learn more about a wonderfully untouched corner of the world, this is the trip you should take!
We had a wonderful time in the Mani
We had a wonderful time in the Mani, mighty craic as they say; delicious tucker, swimming with turtles, good cycling [for those on proper bikes anyway!], comfortable beds and too much ouzo
Peloponnese adventure
The mornings were spent listening to a glittering cast of Classical scholars and modern Greek commentary, all set in the most idylic house set upon a cliff top overlooking the sea. A hefty subject matter perfectly pitched for anyone to be entirely facinated. Afternoons, we worked off our lunch either on a guided walk or an ebike ride around the local hills taking in the incredible views and occasional monuments or a Byzantine church. Down time by the pool flowed into the evening with more sumptousous Greek food and wine at various fine tavernas in Kardamyli. We met many a like minded soul and came home entirely happy and rejuvenated.
Cannot say enough about how amazing tripwonderful…
Cannot say enough about how wonderful our trip with slow cyclist was. Great food, friendly local guides, and an informative tour through a beautiful country. Exceeded expectations.
Totally enriching magical experience
Beyond our wildest expectations. Oli and his team of expert hosts ensure you have a week of adventure, excitement, history, and many wow moments that will stay with you for a lifetime. A true experience of Romanian life, in a slow paced enjoyable way; cycling through wooded valleys with long lunches in grassy meadows hosted by local families. Truly memorable.
