Nick organize the Amazon and pantanal and brasilia. Not only the communication, the organization was impeccable, but his advice previous. He suggested a place in the pantanal called cayman, it is very expensive but Nick truly recommended it. I have travelled extensively and never seen a place that spectacular, we also saw 3 jaguars. He is helping this year with another trip in the north east and hd is giving excellent advice on the best value for money and seasonality. Also he clearly has a keen eye for quality and luxury so if you look for the best of Brazil he is your man

Our Chilean adventure was booked for April 2020, and then a little pandemic happened. Nick and The SA Specialists rode COVID wave after wave with us, rebooking and un-booking until we finally got to go on our adventure last month (4/23). Nick put together a fantastic trip for our group of 8, and we can't sing his praises enough. Can't wait to book through them again.

They listened to us and what we wanted out of our trip, making good suggestions when they thought it would enhance our experiences. We were able to relax and thoroughly enjoy our trip knowing transportation and accommodations were taken care of ahead of time.

We piggybacked on a trip that had been created for friends, so had no say in the planning. But Nick and his team made the whole trip seamless. We were met at each of the airports we arrived in (3 separate countries) with excellent communications throughout, quick responses when any question arose whilst we were away and an excellent choice of hotels that weren’t the usual places where everyone else stayed. And he found some real gems, presumably honed from his huge experience and expertise in the area.
We didn’t use him to organise local tours, but if you needed that, I’m sure he’d know someone- he knows everyone!!!

I want to take a moment to commend The South America Specialist, in particular, Nick French, for his help in arranging the needed services for our trip to Chile and Argentina and being available when we had concerns.
The accommodations were grand and appropriate for the area. We particularly enjoyed Rio Serrano Hotel and Spa. The views from every Hotel location were magnificent, the all-inclusive package met our needs very well, and the service was beyond reproach.
Our rental cars were new and large enough for the four of us and our luggage.
Without hesitation, I strongly recommend trying The South America Specialist if one is interested in visiting Chile and Argentina.

We gave Nick and the South American specialists a vague idea of what we wanted to see in Chile Brazil and Argentina and he pulled together a wonderfully organised trip. The hotels were perfectly picked and the length of stays in each place timed to perfection.

Nick at the South American Specialists has a superb knowledge on where to go and what is special about everywhere worthwhile in South America. He seems to have been everywhere himself! Everybody knows him, and his advice on places to go and even restaurants was superb. I heartily recommend him and his service.

Excellent communications, Discussed trip options in a knowledgeable way. Managed the not inconsiderable problems with change in trip caused by Covid. Produced excellent App with all trip documents and itinerary on it. Readily available. Excellent partner in Argentina. All arrangements worked well.

Nick from South America Specialists organised us the best honeymoon one could have hoped for. He found spectacular hotels and organised everything, with pick ups from every airport and transfers. Nick made the process of organising the biggest and best holiday of our lives so easy, fitting in everything we wanted to do and accommodating all our requests! Cannot recommend them highly enough!

We had an absolutely fantastic time. As always your organisation of the trip was impeccable and we really appreciated all the transfers and bookings.
We loved Uruguay: the people are warm, friendly and very laid back; the nature (we saw so much wildlife on our trip!); the sunsets; the food and the whole experience.
The hotels you picked were fabulous - in particular we loved La Benedicion Lodge, which is out of this world both accommodation and service wise, with the most beautiful secluded river beach.
Narbona was also fantastic with a wonderful wine tasting. And the Gran Hotel Fray Bentos. The tour of El Anglo in Fray Bentos was the original impetus for this journey and was utterly amazing with an incredibly knowledgeable guide.
You really surpassed yourself with the hotels this time and we are so grateful that you suggested La Benedicion!
We are now saving up for the next trip.

I can't say enough about The South America Specialists and their total professional and customer service oriented approach to helping a customer. My friends and I started planning our trip that was to take place March 2020....we got about 5 days into it and then you guessed it.....COVID hit. We got the last flight home from Columbia and never got to Argentina. I was in constant contact with Ed and Nick at South America Specialists and they could not have been more helpful in answering my questions and calming my nerves about when we could go back. We scheduled and canceled this trip two more times before we actually got to go on November 18th. Again I can not say strongly enough how unbelievieble SAS were in helping me pull this together, they were patient, kind and very responsive to every question or issue I had that arose at the last minute. I would not hesitate to use them again and I know my trip was a success because of the involvement with South America Specialits and there invaluable assistance.

We planned this holiday over 2 years ago and had to cancel it twice due to covid and not being allowed into the country, so could hardly believe that we were actually going up until boarding the plan. As a consequence of the 2 years of closure we had to make changes to our itinerary but we left all that to Nick who found equivalent (if not better) accommodation, flights and sorted out refunds for previous flights we were unable to take. We had a great itinerary and absolutely loved our trip, taking real advantage of so few tourists being around....a great time to travel as it turned out!

This is the second time we have used Nick and he has arranged amazing trips for us, dealing with timetable restrictions and changes calmly and without fuss. He listens carefully to the requirements to tailor a trip that meets expectations both as to price and quality. His detailed knowledge of the area makes planning a pleasure. I would highly recommend this company.

We have worked twice with the South America Specialists and have truly benefitted from their "value added" experience. The first trip was in July 2019 for the Elqui Valley eclipse, including segments visiting Santiago, Matetic Vineyards, Valparaiso, driving ourselves to La Serena and a final stay in the Atacama Desert. The second trip in March 2022, to Chiloé Island, the Lake District and Patagonia, was where Nick really distinguished himself as an exceptionally responsive agent. Due to an unfortunate robbery (a flat tire scam), we had to make an unexpected trip to Santiago in the middle of our trip for new passports. Nick was exemplary in exploring the possibilities for rearranging our itinerary and really salvaged our trip in a way that would have been very difficult for us to achieve on our own. We highly recommend Nick and the South America Specialists and would, without hesitation, use their comprehensive services again!

Excellent travel arrangement Ecuador! Flexible (response to all last minute changes) and safe (properties all taken measurements) so we -finally- could fully enjoy our break in this strange time due to pandemic. Your recommendation to combine Galapagos cruise with hotels Santa Cruz/Isabela worked out great to have best of both worlds (some locations/activities can only be done OR on cruise OR when staying in a hotel). All guides where very knowledgeable, and all transfers went smoothly. Itinerary was a lovely mix of nature, culture and city and it showed (again) you know your customer: it fully met our expectations. Definitely recommend this travel agency and looking forward to a new adventure in (near) future. Inez & Luc.

After three amazing vacations planned by the South American specialists, I ought to write a review to laud the talent, skills of this terrific organization. I want to single out Nick French who is always on target, and understands our wants and wishes while planning an always amazing adventure. Hence I keep going back to Chile, Colombia and Argentina.
We have asked for some unusual things and Nick did his best to get me to witness some of the last few Andean weavers who still use a wooden loom to deliver the best Poncho in the world.

We planned a fantastic trip to Argentina with this company - very flexible and helped make our ideas possible. Unfortunately the global pandemic meant we were unable to travel however the team refunded and recovered all of the money we had spent including on local flights. Great service int he circumstances and definitely a trustworthy company. Hopefully we can make our trip with SAS in the future.

I relied upon The South America Specialists for a recent trip to Argentina and Brazil, and was thoroughly impressed with their services and the itinerary that they put together. I covered Buenos Aires, Iguazu (both ARG and BRA sides), El Calafate and Mendoza.

They were always very responsive, and offered a good range of options to choose from. Their recommendations were excellent and the trip was very enjoyable indeed; made a lot smoother by having them arrange pick-ups and drop-offs, so you could enjoy the trip rather than have to worry about transport and logistics.

I would definitely use them again for my next trip.

Outstanding knowledge and service. And really enjoyed working with the guys. I know parts of the continent reasonably well and had an itinerary in mind: Nick's knowledge and willingness to sit down and work with me dramatically improved the itinerary and turned this trip into the best we've ever had.
