Second time using The Stem as I was so pleased with my plants I ordered a dragon tree plant and pot for Christmas for my mum. The plant turned up in perfect condition on the day I selected and my mum was very pleased with her gift. Highly recommend The Stem and this is the only place I will order plants from in future. The plants are such good quality, far better than what you can get elsewhere and at much better prices and the customer service is excellent. Plus it’s great to support a small company!

Awful. Placed my first ever order with them which was a Xmas present. One plant is half dead. The other came with the wrong pot, and was basically fell out of its nursing pot so now I have a bonsai that’s not potted and soil all over my carpet. Merry Christmas.

They cancelled my order 2 days before Christmas without any warning on the day it was supposed to arrive. I am fuming, it was an important present and you gave me no warning. Customer service was terrible when I tried to contact you. Avoid, do not purchase from here.

Absolutely beautiful Christmas tree, just as promised, with very quick and accurate delivery. Fabulously packaged too, would recommend and hope to purchase again.
Very disappointing Christmas tree
I wish I'd read the other reviews before purchasing from The Stem. I bought a small Christmas tree, which on delivery looked more like a small shrub - wonky, with hardly any branches at the bottom and no definitive top.
I received my 'tree' on 9th December and got in touch with customer services straight away to report the quality, but also to express my disappointment, particularly when I had purchased an accompanying pot and had nothing to decorate. I've just finished speaking with them a week later, with the only resolution being a £10 voucher (which came in the box anyway) or the opportunity to pay to return the purchase myself for a replacement.
Next year I'll be going back to my local garden center or trusty Bloom and Wild, which is a shame, as I'd wanted to support a new business.

Ordered 5 plants for Christmas, order arrived perfectly despite the freezing cold weather and all the strikes this week!
Brilliant work, will keep buying from this great little company!
Plant half dead
Update: great team helping out with arranging a replacement order for a plant that died on arrival. But still, feel like if the weather is an issue for the plant dying then that problem should be addressed prior to sending. The pots still feel overpriced, would not get from there next time.

I ordered 3 big plants and unfortunately one of them branches was damaged, the second one leaf damaged.
I sent an email and video, waiting for the answer for a couple of days and receive exchanges until I I’m not finally satisfied. The plants is amazing 💚

Really excellent customer service after a problem with initial delivery
I received a splendid big Pachira plant [often known as money tree] from The Stem by DHL delivery last Friday, a generous birthday gift from son-in-law. When I opened the box - which appeared undamaged, I was very sad to see that one main branch and several smaller branches of the plant had been broken in transit - and that its very pretty ceramic pot was in many pieces! I think the box must have been dropped along the way - the packing appeared adequate. I e-mailed 'support' at The Stem and in a very short time got a most helpful response back from James, founder. As requested I sent in a few photos of the damage, and by the end of the afternoon had assurance I would be sent a replacement. Today - hurray! just 2 working days later, a magnificent replacement plant has arrived, all intact, as is its beautiful ceramic pot. Obviously accidents happen - and I cannot fault this company's prompt, friendly responses and their swift corrective action. I will be recommending the Stem, and using again myself. Many thanks : )

Very dissatisfied with stem I received my plant damaged and folded in the box so I sent an email to try to let them know on Friday it’s Monday evening and still no reply terrible customer service

The Stem is a 6 stars website. Unfortunately, they have very limited customer service. It seems to be only one person answering all queries, which takes days.
If they invested in more responsive customer service/chat on the website, it would be the best place to buy plants!
Very pleased with my order
I was sceptical ordering online as I couldn't see the plant in the flesh. I was able to book a delivery date to suit me, without any issue, and it was delivered on the day and by the time stated. It was packaged very well and wow what a lovely plant it is. Very healthy looking and cared for. Looks great in its new home.
