The service was great in every way, the consultant was of great service, and the service was short
they use customer service to have sales talk to covert existing prepay customers to use their bill pay which is they can have access to your bank account. The third party customer service would have been located somewhere in India, where staff would be pushy and forcily, disrespectfully take your time and push on their sales
I so regret giving my business to three, they are incredibly bad to deal with. I’ve recently left them to go to sky I bought my phone outright three years ago from their store and they refuse to unlock the device regardless of the fact they are obliged to as I’m out of contract a long time! I’ve lost two days business as a result of this… do not go to them for service
Naomi and Isabelle’s help in Carlow today was brilliant. After a quick chat I got a new set up and pay by bill deal with Three. Carlow shop and workers are a credit to you.
Don't waste your time and money. Read reviews first! The worst customer service ever.
I recently visited Carrick on Shannon store for an upgrade. The 3 lads, Frank, Dylan & Alan, could not have been more helpful. They offered to transfer everything over from my old phone to my new one for me - which took well over an hour. Their custom service was brilliant and informed me of all the new features on my new phone and went through everything with me. I could not recommend the COS branch highly enough.
I m on Three for years now and my 2 year phone contract is on the end. So,offer for old customer is just disappointing, disrespectful and disgracing.
They should change name in 3 D's
They do not have good Internet connection always someting is wrong with a signal and on top of that all they are very expensive for old customers.
I was just browsing and saw better offers and definitely I m not staying on Three or going back ever.
Would give less than one star if that was possible. I have three broadband and phone contracts.
Broadband is appalling even for the simplest tasks. I was told it would be getting better but now I’m paying for a useless phone and broadband service, will not be renewing.
Customer service is terrible.
I wanted to call a UK number. 3 voice message said I had to top up by 1744. The first option to top up was 20. I topped this up and I was told it was put into my super surfer despite me already topping up at the start of June for this. I stupidly used the number to top up again by 20 so I've now paid 40 today to try to call the UK and I was given the same message. I rang Three’s customer care team who said they would give me next month free but the other 20 is gone and I should be grateful for the 12 days I got for the first 20 I paid at the start of this month. The customer care representative gave me her name as she wouldn't allow me to speak to a manager however I'm suspect to see if it's a real name.
The shocking part is that there was nothing verbally said on the top up call, to say the 20 would automatically be put into the super saver which does not seem legal to me. I was told by the 3 representative that if I wanted to call the UK I should have topped up by five euros instead. None of this is outlined on the phone top up. I'm appalled by the level of trickery on 3s part and the attitude of your customer care staff. Also to not have a manager on, on a weekday is quite shocking. I recently changed from virigin to be with Three as Three was cheaper but based on this if I had the choice again I would pay the extra instead of being scammed by Three.
Avoid 3 Ireland – A Nightmare Customer Experience
My experience with 3 Ireland has been one of the worst customer service ordeals I’ve ever encountered. I strongly advise anyone considering their services or broadband plans to stay well away.
I ordered 3’s wireless broadband online and tested it at home. Unfortunately, the service was completely inadequate — the connection suffered from high latency, weak signal strength, and inconsistent performance. Within the 14-day cooling-off period, I contacted 3 to initiate a return and cancellation. I was advised to send the equipment back to a third-party logistics company called Arvato.
This is where the nightmare began.
Despite returning the equipment as instructed, 3 continued to charge my direct debit. I contacted their customer support multiple times — far more than any customer should ever have to — and was initially told they couldn’t locate the returned equipment. Eventually, they confirmed receipt, yet the charges kept coming.
Out of frustration, I had to instruct my bank to block the direct debit. This triggered further complications: I began receiving persistent payment demands from their so-called “payments team” based in India, which is routed through a Limerick phone number. Even though I explained multiple times that the matter had been resolved with another department within 3, the calls and demands didn’t stop.
Every time I contacted 3, I was told the issue was resolved — only for the same cycle to continue. Their internal departments do not communicate effectively, and the disjointed nature of their customer care — part outsourced to India, part seemingly still in Ireland — results in a dysfunctional system. Agents repeatedly referred to “the back team,” but nothing ever seemed to reach a proper resolution.
It’s clear that 3 Ireland’s customer service infrastructure is deeply flawed. Once something goes wrong, there’s no accountability or effective resolution process — just endless loops of passing the buck and frustrating phone calls.
In summary:
• Poor broadband performance
• Ineffective returns process
• Continued billing after cancellation
• Disjointed customer service across multiple countries
• Harassment over payments already resolved
This company is not worth the stress. Do yourself a favour and avoid 3 Ireland entirely
I wanted to switch my phone bill that my parent pays for to me paying for my phone bill myself and a guy I was with was very honest and upfront about it, I would love to give 5 stars to him but the service as other people have said about them is quite bad and he has said that if I begin to pay for it, it may not be guaranteed to be paid in my name because they have a thing about people’s ages, they will reject younger people and will continue to keep their own phone bill on their parents’ name, if you get me… Thanks to his honesty about how it will not be guaranteed that I won’t be able to pay my own phone bill and that I might get rejected, it helped me to understand that this company likes to complicate things and make people’s lives harder.
Dunno much about businesses but I think they shouldn’t complicate things.
I’ve been a loyal customer with Three for over 11 years and never had any major issues—until recently. After being bombarded with persistent calls encouraging me to upgrade, I eventually gave in. Unfortunately, that’s when everything went downhill.
The plan I was promised kept changing, and none of the benefits I was told I’d receive actually materialised. My bill suddenly increased again, and every time I contacted customer service, they had no record of my previous calls or agreements. The support team, while polite, often struggled with communication, especially when it came to resolving issues—though they seemed fluent enough when selling the plan.
To make things worse, the network coverage has become almost non-existent, even in areas where I previously had strong signal with the same provider. It’s been an incredibly frustrating experience, and I’ve finally decided to switch operators—and unfortunately, I won’t be returning.
I strongly recommend looking into other networks. With so many competitive alternatives available now, it’s just not worth staying with a provider that treats loyal customers this way.
Time wasters
Money grabbers
Liers
Don't deliver what they promised
No resolution for network issues
Only lies to keep customers
I swear, it’s the worst internet provider in Ireland. I can’t wait for my contract to end. I can’t have my tv and my computer connected to the internet without having issues. Called 4 times and got it fixed for 10 minutes, it’s impossible to have such bad connection.
Three Ireland communications are very poor, their customer service is dire, don't use Three Ireland for any of its services.
Their service is the very worst. I regret getting into a contract with them. From the 1st day I got the phone, I noticed the battery didn’t last longer than 4 hours on a full charge, called them and all they could say is there is nothing they can do as I didn’t purchase insurance. Then I started receiving heavy bills every month for what was meant to be 40e per month. You almost can’t use the phone at all to not get an extra charge. My contract ends in July and I honestly can’t wait. They are scammers! Customer service would leave you on hold for hours than to address your issues. Shocking…
These reviews say it all...
'Three' are rubbish. In fact they're worse than that.
They grab the money and run.
They promise the earth and then fail to deliver.
And don't get me started on the staff.
Useless.
No concept of customer service.
No sense of fairness.
Incompetent, that's the word.
I'm paying for mobile broadband. Most of the time it doesn't work.
And we all know why. 'Three's' infrastructure is a joke.
It's like the staff. Not up to the job.
Do yourself a favour. Avoid these rip off merchants at all cost.
I'm having lots of trouble with three 5g since I got it 9 months ago, I'm near an antenna but the signal keeps dropping every evening and it's impossible to use it. Tried to cancel but three keeps saying that the signal is good in the area. Last technician who came to check could see that's not working but three still not letting me cancel it. Terrible customer service as well. Don't make my mistake and avoid three 5g
Complete scam artists, closed my accounts then get a debt collection letter in post six months later for €145 that I owe them. Rang to see where this figure is coming from. No answers, ask for invoices to prove it not issued to me. Glad I closed my mobile and broadband accounts with them. Stay away they will try rob you every chance they get.
Horrible experience with this company and their customer service is horrendous. My father and I were accused of not paying for my new phone (which i purchased in store and have receipts to proof this transaction) we were spoken down to constantly and they are very quick to throw you on hold for atleast 10 minutes when they realize they are wrong. My father was understanding, polite and respectful throughout the entire call, yet this female worker would not stop speaking over him and interrupting him. Very dismissive and rude for absolutely no reason. If i could back in time i would have never went with this company they are a hot mess and they should hire more professional and competent employees in the future because if they stick with these nincompoops i’ll be terminating my contract. Not to mention the fact they harassed me with calls, and when I answered they stayed silent and hung up after a few seconds, it’s almost like they tried to intimidate me. Bunch of fools here honestly if you guys are looking for an upgrade in your contract on three i’d recommend switching networks altogether!
