I believe there will be more people out there like me, buying tickets from Ticketblaster website by paying way more than the face value. This website is very confusing. It made its name similar like Ticketek on purpose to trap customers who actually wanted to buy tickets from Ticketek. The price from Ticketblaster is as double as the one sold from official website. WILL NEVER BUY ANY TICKETS FROM HERE AGAIN!!!

This ticket site tries to look similar to Ticketmaster so you will accidentally buy tickets on there site. I did exactly that!! If I had purchased tickets on Ticketek I would have gotten tickets far better. The show was also rescheduled to a date we couldn’t attend and they refused to give us a refund. Ticketek would have!! Avoid Ticketblaster at all costs!!!

I accidentally bought two lots of tickets and I contacted the company they where so helpful and obtained a refund for me the lady I spoke to only by email was great her name is Chantel

Made the same mistake as others on this review site.

This is my experience from today.
I made an honest mistake in purchasing tickets to NBL basketball, thinking I was on Ticketek. I'd never even heard of Ticketblaster.

I rang and explained the situation IMMEDIATELY after the purchase and that I would like to cancel. I can't believe that an Australian company would be so punishing as to not cancel due to an honest mistake.
So now I have tickets that cost 34% more than Ticketek.

I have it in writing from Ticketblaster that the face value of the ticket is $44.00 and they have charged me 34% mark up to $59.00.

Here is an extract from an article that mentions Ticketblaster and the business model used by Ticketblaster. It's exactly what happened to me;

"How to avoid being ripped off
Jeannie Patterson, a consumer protection expert and associate professor at Melbourne Law School, said scalped tickets are resale tickets where the seller has no intention of attending the event, motivated purely by profit.

Australians are being ripped off and penalised for buying massively marked up tickets.
“And scalping websites are getting away with it,” she said.

Dr Parry said that, at first glance, it can be difficult to distinguish a reseller from an official ticketing website as the resale sites often appear at the top of a Google search and appear professional.

Both consumers and sellers in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia can, under certain circumstances, be penalised for buying and selling tickets priced more than 10 per cent above retail value.

The ACCC says you run the risk of being turned away at the venue if you buy a ticket from any resale website.

“People think they’re buying genuine, original tickets and yet it’s consumers who often end up paying the price,” Ms Agar from CHOICE said.

“We think that all of the penalty should be worn by the scalping website, not the consumer."

Hopefully Ticketblaster have at least sold me a legitimate, albeit 34%+ overpriced ticket to the basketball. The official message from Rod Laver arena is they recommend to not use Ticketblaster as follows;

The simplest way to avoid scalping is to only ever purchase tickets from the authorised ticket seller for that event. For all events at M&OP, Ticketek Australia is the authorised seller and official ticketing partner.

We do not recommend purchasing tickets from sites such as Ticketmaster Resale, Viagogo, Queenoftickets, eBay, Gumtree, Tickets Australia, Ticket Merchant, TicketBlaster, TicketBis or any other unauthorised re-sellers.

Avoid using search engines such as Google to find tickets. Scalpers will often use advertising and web pages which look official to trick people into thinking they are visiting the authorised ticket seller’s site.

If you are unsure, the promoter, sports team or artists’ website will always include links to the official ticket seller for their events, and all events listed on the M&OP website will have links through to the relevant page on Ticketek.

Brought a ticket to an event and due to a personal issue, I found out I couldn’t attend. I understood that I would probably lose my ticket but I contacted their customer service line and they went above and beyond to help me sell my ticket!! I didn’t expect it and I know other ticket selling companies don’t do this! I was very impressed and because of that, I’m happy to use them again in the future. Lifesavers!

Brilliant customer service experience. I was having trouble booking tickets for Keith Urban and the guy on live chat walked me through options for half an hour. I need to sit on an aisle for medical reasons and I am sitting in an aisle seat in my preferred section and row thanks to Ticketblaster's guidance and help!

I would never book through this website again... We had good seats but paid a ridiculous amount for our tickets... They were selling tickets for $22 for Adults $5 for Children we paid $69 per ticket through this website! Absolutely ripped blind... NEVER AGAIN!!!! Taking advantage of hard working Aussie families.... DISGRACEFUL
