Back where I started to end rental

Had to take scooter back to where I got it because it wouldn't let me end rental at my home -what a complete waste of money. I recommend going for a Voi or Lime Scooter don't waste your money with Tier

Make it make sense!

The way Tier zones what roads/paths you can actually travel on makes no sense. You can be halfway up a road that doesn’t seem pedestrian and the scooter just stops.

However, rather than make it easy to get out of that area, the scooters resists if you try and wheel it over 2mph! Forcing you to either sluggishly move forward or turn back.

Dreadful.

Mobility is great but in cities like…

Mobility is great but in cities like Hamburg, the scooters are constantly dropped in the middle of pedestrian walkways rather than parked properly. I wish there was a bit more thoughtfulness and consideration of other participants. These scooters are just annoying. Feel free to check at Überseequartier and you will stumble over one after another. People with wheelchairs or strollers struggle.

Beste TIER,

Beste TIER,

Groet,

Lokman

Dear TIER,

I just took a ride with an e-bike that turned out to be broken after starting. I used my free voucher. I wanted to report this issue to the help center, but unfortunately, I couldn't access it and no one was available to speak to me over the phone. Subsequently, I took a second ride, not knowing that my free ride had expired. It's very unfortunate that no one could assist me. The bike number is 623419, located in Utrecht.

Regards,

Lokman

Terrible app

Terrible app, full of bugs (location, broken fit to ride test, very poor feedback mechanism) plus a complete lack of scooters in useful places. Inability to provide feedback if you haven't ridden a scooter that time - and most of the faults stop you from riding in the first place, hence you can't provide a review on how bad the app is. Completely useless as a service.

Unreliable e scooters

I had to unlock the scooters to see the remaining battery charge. There is a fee every time you unlock the scooter. Four out of the six e scooters had flat batteries. The two scooters that we took showed a range of 40 kms. However, after 4 km, the batteries were flat. Note there is no return zone at the Budapest Castle district. I’ve been charged a total of £37 for two scooters to travel 4 kilometres each. It would’ve been cheaper to get a taxi there and back. I have been offered some credits for future rides but we don’t have the confidence to use the scooters again. I’ve been told that no refund is available.

The vehicle I rode ran out of battery…

The vehicle I rode ran out of battery on the way in a restricted zone and they immediately charged me a fee despite the fact that I rode the vehicle, without juice, all the way to the allowed zone. Poor maintenance, poor technology but decent customer service.

Yeah, bad.

Street hire (scooters): Unavailability. Phantom parking spots. Sudden stops (with a bus behind you sometimes, so do hope the driver's alert that day). A bit weak and slow. Ending rides can be an ordeal worth it's own review. / Street hire (bikes): Less parking spots than for scooters (you won't know about this until it's too late, most likely). Pedal falling off. Ride refusing to end and seeing someone else hop on it and disappear. / Long term rental (scooters): Old and rattly, no suspension vs. road surfaces of older Bristol areas, worn back tires (no grip if raining). Phone charger doesn't work. Two scooters tried, two replacements needed (unresolvable red light errors). Battery indicator is non-linear and the first block goes twice as long as the last one. Back wheel lock-up during error, so couldn't even walk it home. Locked into minimum rental duration and the scooter broke the very day I made that forced payment!!! (no urgency to replace or refunded days, just "use those free minutes we gave you the time your previous scooter broke". No, ta, mate. Those are three-quarters of a mile away and the bus stop is yards away.) / Reviews (bad): They ask for proof of your bad experience, knowing full well some people won't be bothered, while never asking for confirmation of good ones (TrustPilot should enforce that, I think). So, you can be sure the real rating is lower than just what "made it" through unnatural selection. If they ask me for that, I'll be providing both that and some further bad things to go with it! A-VOI-D.

My experience with Tier has been…

My experience with Tier has been amazing. It was quick to sign up and get moving, the bike itself is really fast and good quality. It is effortless and I am really grateful the Juwana's assistance on the customer service today as shes made me confident in using their service again.

This is truly a genuine review. I've been writing reviews for over 6 years.

The worst company ever

The worst company ever, rubbish customer service, their passes are a ripoff, expect to pay a lot for a ridiculous short distance if you choose pay by minutes.

No offers whatsoever, I raised case of fraud against them within my bank for charging money they should not have , as they accounted me for minutes while I have a valid pass.

The scooters are rubbish, very slow and don’t show the real actual speed, I see on my mobile I go by 10miles p/h but the scooter show 20mph.

If you come near a forbidden zone or a slow down zone (just near it) your scooter will stupidly stop even if you don’t enter the zone and you see like 20 meters distance apart.

They will retaliate against you if you complain.

I cannot not recommend it enough, but if you don’t care about any of the above💁‍♂️ suit yourself.

I preferred the previous company was accurate, great customer service and handy pricing and provided regular offers for loyal customers unlike this greedy one.

I hope Tier will bankrupt or go for administration closer because we deserve better.

First Impression: Needs Work

We hired two scooters in Bristol and mine needed to be manually scooted up to 9 km/h before the motor kicked in. Also, my scooter conked out as we got parallel to the M32 and had to be pushed for a bit. Now the app is stuck on an alcohol test and I can’t use it. Trip worked out at about £1 per mile which is way too much.

Frustrated until I came here and saw their predatory financial business model designed to steal peoples money yikes! Now I see the declining of my payment methods was a blessing in disguise. Garbage company here today gone tomorrow

Far too expensive

Far too expensive. No day pass like Voi had just a "round trip" that only gives you 2 unlocks and 30 minutes for £4. Less parking than Voi. Had to get off and push on the cycle path next to A38 at Patchway. Better off getting the bus. Bring Voi back to Bristol!

Frustrating experience and poor app

I found the experience frustrating and poorly designed. We reserved two bikes but when we arrived at the spot the bikes had disappeared from the app and we couldn't ride them even though they were still there, so we had to walk another 10 mins to find free bikes. The app itself is clumsy - it's constantly removing the filters you've applied in your search making it difficult to find the right sort of vehicle. This is just one example of a poor user interface. The instructions for first time users are poor too - no explanation of what the various symbols on the bike mean and I wasn't even aware that there was a 'beginner' mode until after my ride had finished because it's not shown anywhere obvious. Parking was a total nightmare, adding nearly 15 unnecessary minutes to the journey - rather than showing you where there are available parking spaces, you just have to ride around trying location after location until one is free. Why can't they show you in app where to head to? We had to try 4 different locations. The bike itself is ok - as a slight person it's very heavy to start on a hill and really difficult to push into the bike stand. Really not a great first experience or incentive to continue hiring bikes in Bristol.

Avoid TIER, avoid misery.

May 2024. I used TIER scooter rental when I visited Madrid. This seemingly nice service turned into a sad joke when the bill came. They charged me for rides of about half an hour approximately 10 euro but each and every time they overcharged my credicard. The 10 euro ride was charged 10 plus 7 is 17 euros (=70 % more!). They seem to do it on purpose. When I pointed it out to them they just ignored me since. I am filing a formal complaint as it seems impossible to reach them. My advice to everybody: Avoid Tier at all cost. Good news: In Madrid there is the service of Bicimad. They have an excellent product. Where Tier charges you for a 30 minute ride 10 euro (and charges your creditcard 17 euro!), Bicimad charges you, really, only 50 cents. So, it makes no sense to use Tier. Stay away from frustration, stay away from Tier. I reported the faults in creditcard charge many times, they just don’t react.
