Appalling service on every level - walk instead

Appalling service on every level.
Vehicle condition poor.
Expensive.
Can slow down unexpectedly which can be extremely dangerous in traffic.
Charge you when cancelling a faulty vehicle.
Impossible to talk to someone.
No customer service at all.
Do not take feedback into account (Service in Bristol has deteriorated).
Parking is perhaps the most significant issue. Woeful. Frustrating.

Con Trick thru Dark Pattern

The latest is that when you give back your electric scooter you take a photograph. They confirm the photograph with an enormous blue tick. You leave, but are presented with a 13 Euro bill afterwards, even if you've only made a three euro ride. That is because now you also have to additionally click on "End ride". This is called a deceptive design pattern. So you have to pay for the timeout time, without your knowing it. That's a terrible Con Trick!

Not as good as the vois

Not as good as the vois that were in Bristol previously.

They've removed the parking and pickup spot that was nearest to the house. Now have to walk 10-15 minutes just to find a scooter.

There's never enough scooters available in the suburbs.

Bikes and scooters are unreliable and have a mind of their own sometimes and are poorer quality than the previous scooter host.

Bring back voi!

BEWARE HIDDEN SUBSCRIPTIONS!

BEWARE HIDDEN SUBSCRIPTIONS!! Went on holiday to Germany, took a ride on a Tier scooter. A year later I noticed that Tier had been charging me monthly for some kind of subscription service (why would I sign up for a subscription service I would never use!). I can only assume it was hidden in some small print. When I noticed I reinstalled the app and luckily could log back in as Google has the password. I couldn't find any tab for subscription services, or cancelling them etc. only recourse I had was to remove my card, but that won't stop a direct debit. I had to email in, ask to stop it and I kindly asked for my money back. A robot responded with some nonsense, and only when I pointed that out did it escalate to a human. Finally they refunded me, but only one month out of 11. I'm out of pocket about 60 quid. When I asked why since it's clear I'm not a user, they said their policy is not to refund people (past a month). I love how you make a dishonest policy, and say "hey it's my policy" . They can see I have never logged into the app, and would have happily continued charging me forever and ever!

In general Tier are much worse than Voi…

In general Tier are much worse than Voi (who they replaced). The scooters are built to a lower standard and they don’t repair them quickly enough (this goes for the e-bikes too). A very high proportion of them are damaged and the batteries are often flat or so low that they run out en route. I wish there were another scooter option in Bristol, but there isn’t so I’m going to start using my bike more instead.

Teir = Just awful

Not a bike within 3/4 of a mile of the main hospitals in Bristol which just seems odd as Teir are supposed to be brimming at the top with bikes and scooters. When I finally get to a bike the app doesn't work. So I ring and follow the prompts to speak with a staff member only to find myself constantly being asked by a recorded message "where is the bike" I want to report for being wrongly parked. After an hour I finally make it to the destination that ought to have taken 20min. Is this my first problem with Teir? No it's not! There have been multiple issues with bikes, trying to get support ect ect. Just feel sad they can't deliver the services that Bristol needs. This moment in time I'm on a bus because yet again there were problems trying to book a bike!

Rip off

Rip off. Doesn’t tell you where there’s a space to park so I had to waste 15 minutes trying 6 places and lots of parking and photos before being able to end my ride. Long fiddly process with the meter running. Rubbish that it doesn’t make it easier.

Terrible long term scooter

I have a long term scooter from them and use to use Voi and in comparison the tier are terrible. I had 4 replacements in the first month as they kept delivering faulty ones. The card they give to unlock sometimes doesn't work or is very delayed which means sometimes I have to wait a few minutes before walking away as it might randomly come on again because I might have pressed it twice as it didn't work the first time The whole structure is clunky when driving. Which means any bumpy roads I have to be careful and they struggle more to go up hill. To get in contact with them for support, you can only do email which may take a day for a response as there is no direct contact, which means if you are stranded far from home, you are fudged. The only upsides I can give is that after pushing for some of my money back from that first month they finally gave it and these long term scooters have indicators and shows you your speed which Voi did not have. I hope that with this and other reviews I see, that they will actually make some changes for the customers, as they are essential for a lot of people including me.

Oh was I blessed with multiple billings?

Oh, TIER.app, the gift that keeps on billing! My recent escapade with their electric scooters turned into a billing nightmare. Despite my solitary journey, I found myself blessed with multiple charges on my account. How delightful! (IRONI)

And the cherry on top? Their elusive "customer support" team, who apparently reside in the Bermuda Triangle of responsiveness. Despite my valiant efforts to summon them, they remain as elusive as Bigfoot on a unicycle.

So, dear fellow adventurers, before you embark on your electrifying journey with TIER, be sure to sharpen your detective skills and don your Sherlock Holmes hat. Because navigating through their billing maze might just require the skills of a seasoned sleuth. Cheers to the thrill of the ride, both on and off the scooter!

The worst part is the unpredictability

The worst part is the unpredictability. Sometimes the scooter will unlock, sometimes it won't. Sometimes the ride will be smooth, sometimes the vehicle will just stop or slow down for few minutes. Sometimes it will just not allow you to park at a parking, even if it is half empty. The app is terrible, the user experiance team should be fired. It doesn't show you which parking has a free space, so you are playing a russian roulette, often having to try 2,3 parking, that sometimes can be 10 minutes walking apart. Now imagine this in the morning, when you are trying to catch a train. I was definitely close to a heart attack on few occasions. I really hate this service, I have been using different companies in different cities and this one is just so bad. I only gave them 2 starts because the scooters are light enough to take on and off sidewalks aline other ones who I've struggle with. Also the customer service is usually fast, polite and refunds you on the spot. I like their color too. Everything else is bad. I wish bike thiefs weren't as active, bold and predatory - I can't afford to replace yet another stollen bike, cut lock, stollen wheels. So I use Tier...unfortunately.

This app is a joke

This app is a joke. I reserved a scooter outside my house but waited too long and the reservation time expired. I went outside and tried to unlock the scooter but it said oops something went wrong, the scooter is unavailable, so I walked five minutes down the road to another one and unlocked. Instead of unlocking the one in front of me it unlocked the one that I reserved back outside my house, now five minutes away.

Additionally TIER is exceptionally poor in general compared to Voi. I vote bring back Voi or if you’re in a city with multiple options, avoid TIER!

Expensive and clunky

I tried a Voi scooter a couple of years and that was ok. It seemed to stop for no reason, but it was a short fun trial so wasn't too upset.
Second time I tried Bristol's scooters, now run by TIER, not only was I charged for trying to get the damned things to move (which I figured out ok in the end..) but I was charged for the 'pleasure' of doing so, twice, and when I got them running, it was just heinously expensive. (Almost £20 for hopping on and off within a 5 mile radius of the city centre, not lasting more than about 30 minutes or so in total travel time).
THEN I had £20 additional charges pending from my account (for about a week). Though they were reimbursed, it meant I was £20 out of pocket until they became released back into my account. I'm glad it wasn't my last £20 otherwise I'd be stuffed!
Ok, it was fun, ish, till the battery ran out and I had to force the wheels to turn - in the middle of the road - so I could get it to a designated parking bay. And then pick up ANOTHER scooter to get me back to my car.
But there MUST be a better system.
The app wasn't great, and whilst they tried to make it minimalist/presumably 'simple', it just didn't work out that way. I've no idea what would have happened if my phone battery had died as well as the scooter battery and if I was unable to picture it in it's alloted space.
It's not a pleasure I'll risk again in future.
Maybe I'm too harsh. If I lived in Bristol and got used to their quirks and needed to go across districts where perhaps bus routes don't go without having to change, or.. I have some other inexplicable need.. then maybe I'd use them from time to time.
But it was a tad cumbersome first time with TIER.

Bristol UK eBike and scooter issues

Bristol UK eBike and scooter issues. Tier's gps on the scooter failed to correctly locate me on the cycle path so applied the automatic brakes thinking I was on a pedestrian area. The rest of the journey was spent paying for the luxury of pushing the bike yo a designated parking spot

Dangerous!!

Dangerous!!! Came off this morning causing injury and loss of earnings as has to take day off - wheels are not suitable for wet conditions. I’ve ended up with bruising to face and eye where I landed on concrete and my whole right side is in aches and pain.
Filed an injury complaint and waiting to hear back regarding compensation.
Ola (customer service rep via app) was very apologetic and helpful. Refunded me for the ride and added extras but unfortunately due to the serious nature of the situation that will not suffice.
I was until today a regular rider on these and they’re ok on dry land. Unfortunately after today I won’t use on wet surfaces again. You’ve be warned.

Former lifesaver, now hassle

I use TIER in emergencies (own bikes broken down or stuck somewhere) and it has been a lifesaver. Since a year or so, it’s a hassle first.

I had to cancel the last 3 rides because the bike did not work at all and overall half of the rides prove problematic. As a result I have to find another ride/solution, report the issue and then possibly miss appointments or trains.

Customer Service will credit the unlock and the exact minutes you tried to ride the bike, the rest of the hassle is on you as a customer.

Overall concerned for TIER: looks like they are trying to improve their margins but they will just lose customers with this service level.

Useless and unreliable

Every time I use one of the scooter there has been an issue. First the brakes didn't work. Then they kept stopping while I was riding on a road and most recently it just stopped my ride mid journey out of the blue! Theres no way of getting in contact as they don't answer the phone or respond to email. Useless and unreliable.

Parking areas all full, no support on app.

I use the TIER scooters in Bath, Somerset U.K.. This morning at 10.00am I took a scooter from my home area into the town centre, where I tried to park. I tried two parking zones but both were “full” so could not stop the ride. The map showed all the other parking areas near the town centre were also full (10+ scooters) so I had to give up and leave the scooter in a parking area with the clock running. I missed my train as a result. The support chat on the app didn’t work. No phone number, no way to get help. Very frustrating. It’s great to have plenty of scooters/bikes available, but if the city centre parking areas are all full at 10.00am then how can people travel into town ???
