App doesn’t show full parking spot, huge waste of time

Complete waste of time, do not use! I had to try 4 different parking spots because they were all full, yet there is no way whatsoever to tell on the app whether a parking spot is full or not. My total journey time including riding to several parking spots and then walking to my destination from the final parking spot was 45 minutes long, whereas if I had just walked to start with without using Tier, it would have taken me just over 25 minutes. On top of this, I had to send several emails before being refunded the full amount because Tier tried to give me a partial refund. I will uninstall the app and will not be using again. Terrible app, terrible customer service, and a waste of time.

Absolutely useless company

Absolutely useless company. Every time I've used it the spots are full. Never rebalanced well so availability is poor. I would never pay for this service again.Waste of time and embarrassment to mobility. Needs to be replaced by a well run Company in York.

If I could give no stars I would

If I could give no stars I would. Awful app that makes it so hard to see where you can see park. Not nearly enough parking spaces, which I know is also down to Bristol council not supporting sustainable travel for young people without cars. 0 stars for Bristol council as well as Tier.

Do Not Use - Tier are Disgusting Scammers

Tier is without a doubt the worst service I have ever been provided with. The app doesn't work properly so it tells you that you can't use a bike you've reserved even though 5 minutes later when you've given up it tells you that you're already on that bike so you can't use any others. The acceleration rarely works. The lights and brakes are always faulty. The parking is a JOKE. The app doesn't properly show you where to park so you waste so much time THAT YOU'RE BEING CHARGED FOR trying to find somewhere to leave it. The whole point is for it to be convenient and it just makes your life more difficult.

Awful

Trying to connect to the customer service, no answer, my call was aborted after 5 mins waiting.. they say to go the live chat.. Looking for the live chat online but I only get some articles..

In two instances the first bike I activated had issues but it was not possible to report the specific problem via the app and I was charged normally and then of course I had to activate the second bike. So I am trying at least to reclaim a refund for the first bikes I tried to rent.

The first issue was that the lock could not unlock. I tried to report the problem via the app but I just got some advice and how to unlock it and then the app assumed I was successful. The second time the problem was that my bike died after 1 min of cycling (it was showing 7 km range) and then I had to return it to the next parking spot. I tried to report it, but, guess what, there is no way to report the battery issue. I just reported 'acceleration issue'.

I honestly do not care about the money so much, was just 3.5 euros in total, but it's a bit frustrating, not to mention that I have almost missed my appointments because of this. The point is not to use the bus but at the end the bus is cheaper and more trustworthy..

Also, it happens that the app does not load always when you try to end the ride and then you end up being charged extra minutes..

Endless issues in Bristol

Every time I use Tier scooters there are problems. Today I took 2 rides. The first ride, my ride ended without any reason in the middle of the ride and I wasn't even in a parking spot! The second ride wouldn't end! I was in a parking spot and tried three times to end it and took the photos etc, but it was still running. I thought it had finally ended, but got home to find it was still running. It's so common that people's rides don't end that now kids wait at the parking spots to take the scooters when people walk away, thinking their ride has finished.

Often there are problems with it not correctly registering when you're in a parking spot, or the parking spot on the map makes you go into the middle of the road or into a building to register on the gps!

They've had plenty of feedback from customers all having the same problems but they don't seem to act on it. Bring back the Voi scooters, they worked perfectly and we didn't have these problems.

At least by being so awful they're providing jobs for the nice people in their customer service team (who I have to contact pretty much every ride!).

Awful quality scooters and wildly overpriced

Awful quality scooters and wildly overpriced. If I’m lucky enough to make it to my destination (the scooter often halts for no reason or crawls along slower than walking pace) then it is guaranteed that I won’t be able to park the scooter without calling customer services. The 2 stars are for the customer service team who have been more than helpful every time I’ve had to ring them (almost every single ride taken). The customer service deserves 5 stars but unfortunately the product they’re providing customer service door is not fit for purpose, hence the 2 star review.

Faulty scooter broke my 2 month new…

Faulty scooter broke my 2 month new iPhone 14 pro and TIER has said it would take 6 weeks to resolve. This was October 2023 and since then I have not received any help from TIER or their insurance company Marsh.
I didn't even try to claim insurance for the sprain on my elbow, I just wanted my iphone fixed.

On top of that after reporting the steering was lose, they did not take the TIER offline but kept it online and made it available for rides. I called them out on this again in a report.

Please for everyone else boycott this…

Please for everyone else boycott this service and hopefully those in charge will take notice!! The app is terrible you jump on a ‘zero’ carbon service just to find out (only after paying and starting your rind) that your location parking is full. There is no view of parking on the app and zero idea you will spend probably 20mins + looking for available parking which is so far out of your way you might as well just get an Uber and continue using a gas powered service. TIER and the council need to take a serious look at themselves and realised the have both failed in deliver and rider experience. Without both they will ultimately fail to deliver what they promised. Terrible experience and would be better with the service (although not perfect) that VOI delivered. Scrap TIER now.

Fixed parking zones suck

Really disappointed you have added set parking zones. As a woman who relied on you to get home safer at night and could park near my flat i now have to go around to a creepy industrial estate to park or outside a dark train station a fair distance from my flat or the ride refuses to end. Add more accessible parking zones. Cancelled subscription.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience with this service. Unable to park anywhere, despite riding to multiple parking spots on the app. Ended up 5km away from where I needed to be, late and needed to take a taxi back. First and last time I will be using this service.

Property Damage from a scooter & Tier aren’t responding

We woke up to find a scooter leaning against our window and a pane of leaded glass smashed and the surrounding ones cracked.
I contacted Tier support with photographs and they quickly sent me an insurance form to complete.
10 days later I asked for an update. No response.
I live in a listed property and the windows are over 100 years old. I won’t let this go!

On street scooters were bad, LTR worse!!

After an awful 3 months of using the on street scooters, I have finally received my long term rental scooter. The on street scooters were always riddled with issues, either broken, a technical issue, lack of scooters (which did finally increase recently) or lack of parking zones which is a very common occurrence now. I thought once I get a long term rental, it will be like voi again and I wouldn’t have any issues. But no, the scooter they send you is a much older model, HORRIBLY designed, bell is useless, the indicators and the buttons for it are designed by someone who has never used an e scooter, the scooter itself is noisy, squeaky & wobbly and just in an overall bad condition. I do not feel safe using this scooter, the on street ones are much better even with their issues. Whilst on the waiting list, TIER sent an email promising the first month free of charge for riders who were already on the voi rental scheme and were left without a scooter because of their long wait but not only was I charged, I was charged twice.. The long term rental scooter also doesn’t lock the way voi scooters do when you pause or end ride. You always need to carry a bike lock with you, which is pretty inconvenient but I can live with that. Though, I think I will cancel this contract unless tier offers a new scooter of a different model.

In Bath

In Bath, UK, over the past few months I have learned to not rely on Tier. Approximately 60% of rides end in frustration or disappointment due to equipment which is damaged or non-functioning. There is no ability to end a ride without ringing them if the scooter or bike dies half way up a hill (happens more often than not on the bikes).
This is a service which does not work and I am in the process of putting together a petition to lobby the local council to withdraw the contract. My experience in Bath is shared by everybody who has used the service… completely unfit for purpose and so, so much worse than the Voi scooters that they replaced.

1/12/23 I am a blind person who works…

1/12/23 I am a blind person who works with a guide dog. ON the 1/12/23 we were involved in an accident caused by an abandoned E Scooter which was blocking the pavement as we were trying to walk past. My guide dog tried to get me past by taking me into a dangerously busty road which I did not give her the command to go forward. So my dog then tried to take me back onto the pavement. Wghat happened next was we slowly walked on the pavement when the Scooter toppled over & pushed me over into the road along with my Guide dog. Drivers then stopped & lifted me up along with my dog back onto the pavement. I was not wearing my go pro at the time...but went out afterwards within minutes and managed to film the evidence.
Unfortunately because I am blind Trustpilot are not accepting my reviews on TIER Escooters . I find this totally disrespectful & discriminatory against a blind user.

I got charged £52 for a 15 minute journey. Furthermore, the bike motor bailey worked and when I complained, they told me it was because I was cycling outside of the allowable areas (despite being in central london and having cycled the same journey with Lime, hassle free).

Hi Maj,

Thank you for your feedback, and we are sorry for this experience.

The business zones are set by the local authority. We are working with them daily to improve the customer experience regarding the business zones. TIER understands that it can be a frustrating experience having to contend with no-gones, and we sympathize completely.
