Awful experience
Awful experience, it’s just a waste of time and money. Yesterday, the scooter had problems with the kickstand, doing crazy noises and then took ages to find a parking spot.

Pretty useless in London
Pretty useless in London. The app was slow and played up immediately so I should have been warned. Then it doesn't warn you that some whole areas of London have no parking for their bikes. I ride to Elephant and Castle Thameslink station only to discover i needed to park 10 minutes away. Missed the last train and got stuck in London for the night. I should be entitled to a refund since I was sold an unsuitable service.
If Tier had any sense, the app would require you to input your destination to check it is served before even unlocking and charging you.
I had no reason to expect such restricted geographical coverage and the app provides no warning.

Parking doesn’t work in app, get a Voi
Third time this has happened to me. Loosing faith. I get go a place that shows spaces in the app. When I 'end ride' the space turns black, message pops up ‘no room here, go elsewhere’. I aim at the next place with spaces. Repeat. Turns black when I press 'end ride', message 'go elsewhere'. Whywasnt it black before I tried to park! It’s raining. Its 1020pm. It’s cold. I’m at the end of a long day trying to get home. I give up, leave it unlocked. No doubt Tier will charge a fine. This is a lot less good than Voi where it knew the status of its own parking and put it on the app.

Terrible
Terrible, Terrible, Terrible. From the quality of the scooters , to the terrible app and the invisible customer service. Just terrible.....

Bring back Voi
Awful. Scooters keep telling you they’re not available, the no-ride zones aren’t mapped out properly which puts you in a dangerous position when your scooter suddenly comes to a stop in 30mph traffic. Availability is bad, the kickstands are all faulty, the parking is a nightmare and you have to scan the local area to end your ride which rarely works. The app doesn’t let me end my ride until I close and reopen it. Bring back Voi basically.

The worst company around
The worst company around. Their bikes are ALWAYS broken or do not unlock. Stay away!!
Expensive
Expensive, 6.75 for 2 miles, partly as couldn't get GPS to show me where to park. First time I used it charged for two rides a minute apart..I only scanned one. Overall much more expensive than expected, only to be used if really lazy
They are scam artists
They are scam artists. We used them in London this past summer. We haven’t been in London for 4 months and can’t stop them from charging our accounts. I had to legit order a new bank card because of them.

Without doubt one of the worst Scooter…
Without doubt one of the worst Scooter companies around. No scooters in the centre of Bristol. When it says there are it shows them falsely on the map. I thought customer service were doing me a gesture of good will when they said I wouldn't need to pay for anymore rides until they sorted the lack of scooters. Yet I then find out that they have just cancelled my contract and started charging me as normal again. Horribly run and not wanted in Bristol
Appalled by Tier ‘customer service’
I complained to Tier, about an incident involving their driver that occurred outside my house in the middle of the night, via email & provided date/time/location etc. I received a generic response thanking me for my email, saying they take complaints seriously & that I could rest assured that it was being felt with but that I would not hear back from them regarding any resolution.
So I took to Trustpilot to leave an honest review, however Tier then claimed I was making a false review and asked for it to be taken down & my account was suspended until I could verify the incident. Essentially calling me liar! What a despicably sly, underhand approach to customer service! This goes against the whole concept of TrustPilot if companies are going to remove anything that makes them look bad & stop other people from seeing what they are really like!

The actual worst
The actual worst. Can’t find them even when the map says they are there. Twice they have died whilst I’m halfway home after work, in the middle of the night. As a young woman that has been a real worry. They are just unreliable, and not fit to do the job

Voi weren’t perfect but TIER……
Voi weren’t perfect but TIER is a major downgrade and more expensive. I could rely on Voi to get me to work and back quickly but not Tier. Issues are:
- general lack of them especially in the suburbs
- Phantom scooters that appear on the map but aren’t there in reality. Three times today I reserved scooters, walked to them only to find nothing. Much time wasted and late for meeting.
- broken kickstands
- random slowing down or stopping
- app very slow when in 5G.
I can only hope this improves.
Charged £50 for a £2.24 trip.
Charged £50 for a £2.24 trip.
Made a complaint and someone said they would look in to it for me.
Two days later, another £50 has been taken from my account!
Now I’m getting absolutely zero response from the customer service team (Will) via the app plus I’m down £100!
Absolutely appalling service!

Unreliable
Unreliable, broken & can’t find one! Voi was far superior in the 3 years they were here you could always find a functioning scooter and they actually had scooters around. Hardly see a tier nowadays and if you do 9/10 it’s broken

Disappointing and dangerous
so underwhelming and disappointing DANGEROUS even
(tier took over from another operator [VOI] in our area - so im aware the comparison highlights their flaws)
1) Per minute biling ie a 2min 3 second ride is charged at 3 mins)
2) Speed limit is 15KMH (dangerously slow - lethal pulling out of junctions) - Voi was 20KPH. Ive had scooters unable to go 5kmh up hill . downhill it doenstg slow you down with gears (you can go fadster than thsoe little wheels should go! - VOI slowed yoiu with gearing so no need to brake all the waty down hill)
3) DANGEROUS : dodgy excelleraters (ive had several stick!!! - voi was highly sprung thus power cut out when released - not nice to have the scooter powering ahead when you release it)
so as you can see im criticising and compaling about every aspect of this 'service'
Never any scooters near me
I was interested to see how user experience could be improved upon when Voi was replaced by Tier. I thought Voi were pretty good. Oh dear. Tier is useless. A couple of months in to their Bristol roll-out and they are still falling way short. Mainly they are woefully short of scooters. I live in Easton, Bristol and always used to be able to find a ride somewhere near. Now there’s nothing. Ive tried many times and given up to get the bus. I found one scooter this morning, diverted my route, tried to unlock and the app just wouldn’t work on it. It would’ve been a bad ride anyway as the stand wouldn’t stay up.
Bristol Council, why did you get rid of Voi?
Terrible
Terrible. Very bad choice WECA. Tried 5 scooters before one was available, Voi had a useful light system to avoid this. Main issue, the stand dragged along the floor the whole journey making a horrible noise for every poor house I went past and really dangerous when cornering as it caught the road once and I almost came off the thing. Also no auto-braking down steep hills like Voi, there will be a lot of stupid riders that will crash these. I will never recommend these dangerous, poorly maintained scooters to friends or family.
Truly appalling
I write this as I’m making the 40 minute walk from the centre of Bristol to Brislington. It’s 4.15pm (prime commuter time) and there is not a single Tier scooter for my entire trip. The service really is dreadful when compared to Voi, who were generally reliable, available and easy to use. I imagine someone somewhere is making money from the decision to move to an inferior provider with no thought for the consumer as usual.
My second review of this dire company
My second review of this dire service
There is no clarity for NON-USERS where these things can be parked. As with Voi they are randomly parked including blocking the textured pavement near a set of traffic lights this weekend. 3 dumped in separate spots on the yellow path in Stoke Park.
I note the response from Tier saying basically 'teething problems with new service'. Good grief Tier you're not inexperienced so should have this off pat. How safe are they? I note several have gone past me with the stand rattling away bouncing on the road. I didn't think anything could be worse than Voi but Tier have far and away exceeded Voi in awfulness particularly in making it much more difficult to report than Voi who DON'T require you to download an app and have bigger ID plates with 4 digits instead of the miniscule Tier plates with 6 digits. However small chink of light - there seem to be far fewer users out and about though that could be down to the weather.
As for Tier's lamentable cookie cutter response it's laughable. Blocking textured paving which is there to assist blind or partially sighted is unacceptable as is dumping in Stoke Park an historic, protected landscape. Nothing to say about the loose centre stand or the miniscule ID plates eh Tier? More visibility? Currently I have yet to see any notices designating parking spots.
I am not sure why Tier wants more information. I'd have thought it obvious I am a member of the public. Are you worried about criticism Tier? Certainly looks that way.
