Purchased a new TomTom online in Nov 21 as an xmas present for my husband. It did not work. Could not even turn it on. No number to call. Through email I have now arranged to have it posted back for a refund but some 3 weeks later I still have no refund and the item I returned appears to have disappeared. They plan to investigate. So my first frustration is they sent me a product that does not work. My second frustration is that it is impossible for me to speak to anyone and I can only communicate via email which takes an inordinate amount of time. My third frustration is that I am £180 out of pocket with a vague promise of an investigation at their end. Really not impressed. Will never purchase from Tom Tom again. If they cared about customers they would make it possible for me to call and speak to them or they would do the right thing and give me a full refund. Its not my fault their product did not work or that they lost it when I returned it.

On phoning, before deciding whether to send in my precious TomTom GO Live 5200, I was given very helpful and constructive advice, which resulted in my placing my order online. The customer service is brilliant: I was emailed daily updates, any questions I had were responded to by return. and the turn around time was an amazing 4 days, including sending and delivery.
Can’t speak highly enough of Satnav Specialist Ltd and would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it.

Over a decade ago tomtom was really the greatest, Strong built fast download every address found perfectly right targetted. The setting was so easy The meter range was just right. written the address wasn't the problem. 12 years after I bought a new updated one 5" glass scratches easily magnetic window sanction's power connection point gone in just under a year .So I can not use it on the window .its too slow .welsh name sometimes very difficult to write the town name So if you can not write "Ystrad Mynach

Town in Wales"Ty Llwyd parc estate "you stuck there just to suering ...You arriving to address or near address it says on the left actually it is on the right. when you living motorway the Graffic comes too slow right after you go into the left line almost suddenly changes to the total right side.No sound in so many important motorway roads divisions, so many times it took me one-way road ones I have to pay £100.00 fine.IF you want to go to Tesco in the local area it is impossible to get you there. As a stocktaker, I need to go to the parking area .it is impossible to put any car parking name . Early tomtom navigation used to notify miles ago if we are heading to a roundabout to left or right now it is most of the time impossible until just we coming near to the area.

Excellent service and good value. No nonsense, good service. Well packaged return, event sent the useless batter for disposal ! as proof of repair. Delighted.

Do not use this company, they send out faulty / defective components, they ask you to return items and then say they gave not received them back and don't refund, Avoid this company at all costs.

Well reading some of the reviews i seemed to have fallen into what some have described, sent my sat nav to have new battery, i asked them last night was it sorted, said it had been left on charge and so this evening i have asked for update to be told not repairable and they offered me £40 for spare parts, though i have asked for it back lets see if it turns up

Tried to get my defective Golfer 2 Sports watch repaired (its never worked properly since the day I bought it). Was quoted 85 euros, so its going in the bin. Will never buy another TomTom product.

What a contrast to the excellent Fitbit, who immediately replaced my defective tracker despite being out of warranty

Fantastic service. On Tuesday I sent them a TomTom satnav to replace the battery. Received 3 days later all done.

Been a fan of Tomtom tech and own 3 devices. Just bought a Tomtom Rider as my Go720 is proving unreliable after 15 yrs! And it is no longer supported for maps and updates. New Tomtom Rider (for car and bike) is a massive let down - very poor support for phone use, difficult to set up, badly thought through and shockingly bad Support from Tomtom to rectify.
Simply, the Rider works as a Satnav. BUT, many of the functions on the 15 year old Go720 no longer work as they did, particularly the support for a phone directory ie contacts uploaded from your phone to the satnav so you can see who is calling. Now, you have to have the phone set up as a hotspot, with multiple Bluetooth connections to the satnav, with Siri enabled to work the helmet headset - all too flakey, and I couldn’t get it to work despite many evenings spent trying, and lots of useless help from Tomtom... VERY disappointed.
And, despite public announcements from Tomtom, they STILL do not support What3words direct from the satnav. (Good luck trying to find rural Airbnb’s in Ireland by postcode...).
In conclusion: Too complicated and too busy screens. And shockingly poor help via chat and email. And this from a previous Tomtom fan!!

Where to start, I have used many sat nav systems in my time but I can honestly say TomTom are by far the worst.
My TomTom sat nav is useless, as in not fit to be used as a navigation device.
It is confused by the following things,
Roundabouts,
Bridges,
Junctions,
Motorway flyovers,
Aside from these problems it is also very annoying to use and putting the back button next to the button that changes the screen from letters to numbers is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen.
But by far the worst thing is how monumentally slow it is. From starting up and having to wait 5 minutes before the stupid thing has warmed up and you can enter a post code to the incredibly slow data refresh rate. This makes it almost impossible to use the sat nav in real time because it can’t update fast enough to work properly.
Total and utter pile of useless garbage I have seen more accuracy in a game of pin the tail on the donkey than from a Tom Tom sat nav.

Can’t understand the negative reviews granted I did have to make a few calls for updates . But they always answered and gave me updates and yes there English is not great but we got there . They fixed my tomtom 6000 trucker at a great price £49 with return delivery included.
Before I found sat nav specialist I’d contacted tomtom direct now that is a bad service. They was not interested at all just kept sending emails back to me offering to sell me a new one . After I complained and complained they said they would look at it but I’d have to pay £105 for this privilege that’s before repair??? . Now that’s rubbish service so thank you sat nav specialist very happy .

Charging port on my Garmin 1000 had stopped working. Sent device off and called within 2 days to advise me it could be repaired. Back up and running with it inside a week. Excellent service and saved me £400!

Sent them a TomTom unit to be repaired. They said they could not repair it , so I asked for it back. It cost me £3 to send it to them , BUT they want £5 to send it back to me. I had to send them 10 emails and numerous phone calls to get to this stage. First they said they had not recieved it, so I gave them the postal delivery reference which confirmed they had it. Then they siad they could not repair it and now they want an exhorbitant amout to send it back to me. What a dodgy outfit....

Excellent service and the battery on my TomTom 6100 was replaced at under a third of the cost of returning the unit direct to TomTom.

Kept fully updated at each stage of the process and the unit was returned within 6 days of me shipping it to them,

VERY impressed

My TomTom1 had a major 12volt blowout & was dead.
I spoke to their helpful engineer, who went thru the options - I decided to proceed with a repair..
I got an Email at each stage of the repair & received it a few days later.
As an electronic engineer, I knew they had to replace a protection device & power supply chip - & all for £14.99.
I don't understand some bad reviews on here - my experience was a very efficient & cost-effective repair.
I now have my GPS back & working perfectly.

Sent my Sat Nav for repair, registered with site for up dates and ……...nothing, emails sent multiple phone calls made and no response. I see they sell refurbished sat navs, you can but wonder.
Why can't you give zero stars on this site.

Had a cracked screen and sent my GPS. First quoted 19.99 for repair but later was emailed and asked for another 10.00 pounds. Paid that as well. Got the navigation back and tried to use it. With the first touch on screen, the touchscreen cracks and breaks. What kind of quality repair is that? Upon complaining to them they have asked for another 19.99 pounds for another repair. STAY AWAY from this crooks and save your money and time! AVOID I have filed an official complaint with consumer ombudsman's office and have written a letter to the local lawmakers for an investigation. It is impossible to communicate with them because they do not even understand English. AVOID!

WARNING THIS COMPANY RUNS A SCAM they ask you to send in your sat-nav but instead of returning it to you they sell it on for their own profit.

Excellent service, had a battery replacement, sent just before New Year Bank Holiday and got it back on the following Saturday.

I had a cracked screen on my Tom Tom 6100. I sent it special delivery, having paid the extra for priority service. I received an email the following day to say they'd received it, then one to say it was in repair, then to say it was fixed and finally one to say it had been despatched. I received it fully repaired and working the following morning. What great service!
