If your experience with Tony's has been less-than-perfect, we'd love the chance to put things right before you leave us a review.. So pop an email to mailuk@tonyschocolonely.com, and our Choco Fancare team will work their magic. Tony’s Chocolonely is an impact company that makes chocolate, committed to ending exploitation in cocoa. And not just the cocoa in our chocolate, but in all chocolate worldwide. Tony's Chocolonely was founded in 2005 by 3 journalists from the Dutch TV show ‘Keuringsdienst van Waarde’ after they discovered that the world’s largest chocolate manufacturers were buying cocoa from plantations that used illegal labor. Since then, we've dedicated our efforts to raising awareness of and eliminating inequality in the cocoa industry, becoming the #1 chocolate brand in the Netherlands. With incredibly tasty chocolate, we lead by example and show the world that chocolate can be made differently: in taste, packaging and the way we do business with cocoa farmers. Starting with paying them a higher price. Alone, we’ll end exploitation in our cocoa supply chain, but together we can change the industry across the globe. That's why we invite everyone to join our commitment. 'Cause it's only together that we'll end exploitation in cocoa.

Lovely chocolate
Lovely chocolate, especially the milk chocolate and caramel sea salt, if you like something then don't complain about the price, for me it's a nice treat.
TonyChocoShocko
Dear TonyChoco, I've been a huge fan of your chocolate for over 10yrs, since a delightful Dutch friend brought some as a gift, long before it was commonly available in Europe! I'm such a fan that I always buy as gifts or as a treat for my partner and everyone loves it!
HOWEVER, In the last few years I've not been able to get your Advent Calendar, so this year I made sure & bought very early, at a RIDICULOUS PRICE from my local 'ridiculously price everything' store in Barcelona, and then the bad news..So my little one has now opened 11 windows, and sadly has found much repetition of flavors on consecutive days, chocolates looking & tasting well past their best, but most disappointing, Number 10 is empty!! I have to say, being such a fan I was totally shocked by all this feedback, but when the empty window happened, I had to mention. I have since tried several times to report this on your site and every time "server is not contactable"..thats really poor too!
I would also enclose pics, though obviously an empty window is hard to prove, but I assure you, I wouldn't be doing this if not really disappointed by this product. Yours, Paul T

Chocolates missing
Chocolates missing , upset children …. Why ? These jokers are using advent calendars for political activism. Never see my money again go woke go broke
RIP off Advent Calendar
Bought the large advent calendar this year and what a rip off. Imagine the disappointment of opening a door #10 and finding NOTHING inside. Yup that’s right NOTHING! The joy of advent ripped away because Tony’s Chocolonely want to draw attention to the cocoa slave trade - we’ll try and explain that to the disappointed children 🙄

Tony’s Grinch?
So disappointing to open Day 1 of Tony’s Chocolonely advent calendar-no chocolate on 1st December. Bizarre antagonistic marketing. Will now be anxious about disappointment for next 23 days. Do not purchase. Rubbish. Proper Grinching Tony’s.

Ethical production and good taste!
Ethical production has a price, but it's not at the cost of taste. Tony's Chocolonely milk chocolate bar is delicious! The packaging is fun to boot. Far better than my normal Cadbury's or Nestle chocolate products and it turns an eye to modern slavery which is shockingly rife in all countries.
It's refreshing to see a business with a cause have it up front in more than marketing, a search online quickly backs up the efforts with numerous relevent and meaningful awards.

NEEDS IMPROVEMENT!
Tony's is a company with an admirable social conscience...unfortunately, it doesn't continue with the same passion for its product quality. The cocoa content seems pretty shabby and the taste reminds me of the cheap novelty chocolate I had as a kid. The aftertaste is somewhat unpleasant, not unlike the overall flavour. But I loved the old-fashioned, chunky style with it's paper wrapper. Needs improvement.

I'm currently on a choco-mission to try out as many different milk chocolate bars possible. Everyone needs a hobby right? Tony's Chocolonely has been one of the best so far. Definitely a step up from Dairy Milk and Galaxy and holds its own against Lindt and Green and Blacks, although different to both. It has a rich, smokey flavour which is slightly less refined than the Swiss brands but not inferior in any way. The large random pieces are fun to negotiate and I like mine straight from the fridge. A welcome addition to the chocolate world and a welcome treat every now and then. I can't understand the negative reviews I've read here...very suspicious if you ask me!

I love it!
Not sure about the low reviews. Seems like spam or something! It’s very good quality and tastes great.

It’s a gooden
Now I’m no chocolate expert, but this Tony’s milk chocolate is the some of the best bit of chocolate I have ever shoved into my gob! It’s amazing quality, it’s creamy, it’s like a Yorkie but it’s massive and tastes much better in my opinion.
The one and ONLY problem is, and this is a personal issue more than a “everybody” issue, I have pretty dog molars. As in, my teeth are pretty sensitive and feel like they might break at any second with some of the bigger pieces of the bar. The chocolate is pretty tough to bite down on and so if you’ve got sensitive teeth, you might wanna go with a less thick, less hard bar. Personally, it won’t stop me from buying and scoffing a Tony’s from time to time, but maybe I’ll microwave it and have it soft.
And it’s supporting a great cause too. I’m not fully versed behind the cause of the chocolate but I know kids/people aren’t being exploited during creation of the chocolate. Just makes it that bit tastier.

Tastes like cooking chocolate
Tastes like cooking chocolate. Wouldn’t buy again, even if it were a quarter of the price. Disappointing.
Never felt compelled to write a review about a bar of chocolate before… but I feel ripped off.
The one star is for the pretty decent branding.
** Edit… just read some of the other reviews and responses from the company. Pretty sarcastic and ‘awwww, poor you’ / ‘we don’t care what you think’ replies. Puts me off this brand even more. Such an apparent lack of sincerity and overconfidence leads me to believe this is a company run by a group of millennials who think they know better than their customers. Perhaps they’ve not spotted the negative reviews outweigh the positive. **

Sodium hydroxide a cleaning product…
Sodium hydroxide a cleaning product used to ‘preserve’ it. No people. No such sodiums that react ‘violently’ with water (according to any research) is needed in any chocolate… brag about ending slavery. But poison the consumer…

1st time ever leaving a review about a bar of chocolate, but I guess it has to be done when it is that bad! Tried today for the 1st time and this is by far the worst tasting chocolate I have ever had, especially for that price, absolutely disgusting. I Have had better 30p chocolates than this.

Worst milk chocolate bar ever tasted
Worst milk chocolate bar ever tasted. Sickly sweet, very mild chocolate taste that lacks body. Over priced for what it is. Thought by paying more I would be getting quality, sadly this was not the case.

I really want to like it, but...
Really want to like it I do but, it just tasted like cheap chocolate, I bought 3 different bars, milk chocolate, sea salt and the one with brownie pieces, the milk chocolate is very sweet, not naturally sweet mind you.
The sea salt was actually ok but still very very sweet.
The brownie one was just, bad, the brownie pieces were super dry, the chocolate it self was ok but overall the bar wasn't great.

Tastes very cheap
Tried two different bars and both were actually worse than the supermarket alternatives at over three times the price. If you charge extra for an ethical product fair enough but it has to also be a good product which this simply is not.

Chocolonely is the best!
I am another who cannot understand the tastebuds of the Chocolonely haters! I am addicted to the red milk chocolate bar and believe me I love good chocolate. It has absolutely no similarity to cooking chocolate or US bars like Hershey. Compared to Cadburys, Galaxy etc it is a total winner, not oversweet and artificially flavoured like they are. It is a bonus to know that the company set up is based upon ethical principles. I will continue to buy this in preference to any other brand.
These bad reviews are not real
These bad reviews are not real.
This is the best chocolate I’ve tasted in years. Reminds me of my childhood. You pay more for quality. Have you brought a bar of Cadbury’s or galaxy lately ( thin and tasteless )
Tony Thankyou for your passion and making a chocolate that I cannot fault. For being ethical and highlighting slavery and child exploitation
I will not buy any other chocolate now. And if I can’t afford it one month I go without.
So disappointing
I expected a rich flavoursome chocolate because of the high price . I was extremely disappointed- there’s not enough cocoa/ chocolate flavour and it’s too sweet . Won’t buy again and the way it’s divided in the pack is pointless and irritating. What a waste of money. Back to Lindt.
