The process of getting my aligners was very straightforward and the staff were very helpful around getting them for me. Everything was done in good time in the clinic and I’m already seeing good progress.

I had no issues with booking my initial appointment for the free consultation and scan in Birmingham. On arrival, initial impressions weren't great. As you walk in there is no signage to tell you that the clinic is upstairs. I was called up and from her seat the receptionist called to ask me for my name when I was half way up some fairly steep stairs (I noticed the same for all patients), they obviously had such a high turn over time was of the essence. I then had to wait half an hour after my appointment time with no notice of this until 25 mins had passed.

Within the consultation I was asked to fill out a form (could I not have done this while I was waiting?) and there was little direction within the room and I was left holding my iPad of info.

The dentist who did my consultantation seemed well informed and know exactly what she was talking about, despite also seeming in a hurry and so bashing the scanner about my gums.

On leaving the consultantation room I was asked by the receptionist to pay £99. I honestly had no idea what she was talking about and had to ask her to repeat several times and also to clarify what the £99 was for. After some back and forth she said 'all patients get the same email, it says this' and showed me a sample email. I pointed out to her that I had not received that email, as I had already showed the email I did receive which said 'free scan'. Perhaps it was a glitch in their system and I was meant to receive another email with this content, but I did not. When I refused to pay before speaking to ToothFairy, the receptionist asked me to sign something before I left. Luckily I read it carefully as it said 'I consent to paying £99 for the scan'. I obviously did not sign. She was visibly annoyed with me for pointing this out. In fairness to her, she was young and perhaps to give benefit of the doubt perhaps didn't know how to handle customers.

On leaving the clinic, I wrote to Toothfairy who told me this £99 cost was on their website. I retraced my steps in booking the appointment and saw the £99 cost at no point from the initial click, through to booking, through to the email I received, including all the TS&Cs. In response, they simply sent the same screenshot of a different area of their site where it was mentioned.

It wasn't such a big issue for me to pay the £99 but Toothfairy refused to accept that this was slightly misleading or apologise. They said I did receive free scan so what was the problem....from my point of view, there is no point in having a scan you need to see the results of and at no point was I informed I couldn't see the scan or that I'd have to pay to see it. They also quoted me a different price via email than the one advertised on their site.

My feeling is that they are under the impression they are offering a cheaper service so they can cut corners with customer service, whilst forgetting that this is still a pretty huge investment for most people and most cosmetic treatments at this cost come with a certain level of professionalism.

I cannot comment on the functionality of the aligners as I didn't feel a valued customer by Tooth Fairy, and I wasn't keen to return to the clinic really, so I have decided to take my business elsewhere.

The doctor was very pleasant and very informative.
Answered to my questions and did check ups on me whilst doing the composite bonding.

I went for my 3D Scan in the London Harley street clinic to start my aligner & teeth whitening journey the other day. Both of the ladies in the room were so lovely & the dentist explained everything to me from start to finish so I knew how the process works. The appointment was so quick & easy. I am so excited to start & get my perfect teeth!

No pun intended as I haven't an in person consultation yet, but as my first interaction with Toothfairy as a company, it was a great experience. Tia was professional, incredibly knowledgeable and patient with all my questions. Her personable approach immediately put me at ease. I am genuinely looking forward to the next stage of the process.
