Trafford Council Shambles (One Trafford - Amey Partnership) Request: 553703
I only enter reviews here if I think it is important to widely expose serious problems. In the last two months I have had extraordinarily bad experiences with "One Trafford" the partnership between Trafford Council and Amey. It started as a simple thing. About 9 weeks ago I phoned Trafford to raise the issue of not receiving any green bags for the small food waste container. I bought the container myself and I have bought the bags too in the past. I was told they would be sent in 3-5 working days. NOTHING HAPPENED. I put a bag in the large green bin to indicate that I needed more bags. NOTHING HAPPENED. I sent a "report a problem" form in to Trafford explaining all this (Request ID 553703) and it showed a reply time of 10 days. NOTHING HAPPENED. In the past I have complained about several bins not being emptied. NOTHING HAPPENED. I am at this point getting a bit annoyed about all this. If it isn't their problem then it's passed on so that nothing happens. I required an explanation as to why no one at either Trafford or Amey seemed able to respond to even the simplest request. Then I received from Trafford the first response since I had phoned them 9 weeks ago. "A problem with a bin collection [Request: 553703]" It said "Unfortunately it is taking us longer than we expected to deal with your enquiry". After 9 weeks this is their first response?! I have had no response whatsoever from Amey. Trafford's response is a mystery. I reminded them that this was at the start simply a phone call to ask for some biodegradable green bin bags which I am told were supplied to Trafford residents? The phone call was made to the right department and the staff member actually apologised for me having to buy both the bin and the bags. The emails I have had to resort to since have all been sent to the right places and no one at this "partnership" has, to date, addressed even the simplest of issues. However, this has now become a problem on another level. I requested that an email outlining all this be passed to a Senior Manager who has direct responsibility for Waste Disposal but also someone who could explain to me why they cannot cope with a simple issue, conducted perfectly correctly and initially in a polite, timely fashion. Why was it "taking longer then we expected" to deal with this enquiry and what was the issue?? I got a voicemail yesterday basically saying they couldn't explain any of this with a vague apology and a promise that the bags would be delivered today. There is a clear issue with this "partnership". I have had dealings in the past with Amey where their handling of a private house premises situation was to say the least hostile, unhelpful and unprofessional and then there's the regular occurrence of bins not being emptied even when reported. Elsewhere, there are many indications that "One Trafford" is a mess. What do you think?
