Too Good to be true? It isn't true !!

Wish there was a zero or a negative stars to use.

I have received at least 5 calls from this same company each week. I've listened to their 'speil' because I'm amused at how they proport how I got the points (never took a time share tour nor have I ever owned a timeshare...but I have $1500 worth of points. Just now I googled their reviews and saw that there were few positive reviews from people who have dealt with them. I suspect that the few that were good were from paid reviewers. There is no way that they could give me 2 free 7 day, 6 night vacations plus air fair 4 days and 3 nights PLUS a 7 day cruise with air fare for $399 per person.

Scammers!

I booked a ticket via “ smart fares” which is also “travels help desk” . A death in the family resulted in my brother having to cut their trip short and have to rush home from cambodia. I booked the last minute ticket and told my brother to head to the airport in a few hours. After arriving he was told the ticket didn’t exist. I called the number listed which shows up as a “ California” number and got a hold of an agent. He stated the “ airline didn’t accept the booking” he was able to get a ticket for the next day but of course the price would increase. Due to nature of the emergency I was willing to pay the extra $200. He “ booked” the next flight and then told my card was “ declined”. I checked with bank and see full the transaction pending in which I notified the agent it was and the bank took the money my account . He informed me that the “bank was holding my transaction” and that I would have to “approve” it. With it being a Sunday I couldn’t call the bank to see why it was being “ held” . He asked for another card due the fact that this one was “ decline”. I gave him another card in which he said it was “approved”. He did assure me that If the payment was “pending” the bank would release the hold due to me using a another card the company would canceled the transaction on their end” I had yet to received an E-ticket two hours after the call ( agent told me 30 mins) so I emailed customer service which I got a response in 15 mins and was able to get my tickets and my family member was able to catch that flight and make it home . I called customer service later in the day about the pending Transactions after it was still “ pending” and I was hung up on 3 times after being on hold for 30 mins each time. When I finally got to agent I was told I would be refunded. It’s now Tuesday and the traction processed and I was charged twice! I paid 6,000 for a 1,800 ticket! I tried calling and emailing with no response! This company are scammers and lairs. They claim they your “ card was declined” so they can charge to twice! Please use just another company!

I had a bad experience with the…

I had a bad experience with the company,I bought a ticket just with one connection and they sold me something very different. I was trying to connect with them and they never responded to me.
I won’t recommend buy flight tickets with them.

Avoid

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

Bought my tickets on SmartFare for $577, and in 2 days received email that airline cancelled the flight. I asked for a refund, but was told by customer support that SmartFare can't return me the full amount (even the flight was cancelled by the airline) as there are 'some fees and charges' they still have to pay, so they can refund me only $427 out of £577 paid. When i told them that on the FAQ page it clearly stated that the customer should get the FULL amount back, the support team just hang up the phone.

Also, i called them several times and every time they gave me different refund amount ($427, $275, $460). When i asked why is that, they just hang up!! So i called again and was given a new amount (yes, again) for the refund!

Now they are saying it will take around 60 days!! To process the refund

A total scam

Somehow when you try to call airlines or third party travel agents people from this entity reply. I bought my tickets through Smart Fares - maybe they are the same people.
We were asked to change our booking ( to another longer flight) because according to them the original flight was not confirmed. They charged $100 extra for this change. When I later checked the rebooked flight was $100 cheaper than the rebooked flight. I wanted to cancel the booking all together but I was told I would loose $200 in fees. In retrospect i should have called the airline directly....

I have spent for a ticket to india $4000 and cancelled my return ticket…

I have spent for a ticket for india nearly $4000, because of several times ticket postpones, thats fine that is my money i but when called to customer service, always you need to wait to longer period of time and i forgot the person name he is Rude with customer service,he is showing anger on me OMG i have explained everything how much i have paid to them , finally i have cancelled my return ticket and booked a fresh ticket with another airlines, they are Very good in only their money and business, they did't bother about customer money.what a great service....

Inappropriate charge for seat assignment

I purchased Business Class tickets from Chile to Spain for my husband and I.

Before the trip I realized that we did not have seat assigned and contacted TravelerHelpDesk.
They said that in order to get seat assigned I needed to pay an extra US$250 per ticket, so, reluctantly I did.
For many days, I received emails saying that they needed extra time to get the seat confirmation from the airline, that there were issues regarding the web page, etc

Since they could not confirm the seat assignments after a few days, I decided to go in person to the local office of the airline (IBERIA) where I found out that the original purchase included the seats, buit since the tickets were purchaed through TravelerHelpDesk they were not able to assign the seat themselves, and that we were going to get the seat at the airport

I requested the money back from TravelerHelpDesk and they refunded me the US$500

By the time the online check-in process was available, I easily got the seat assigned FOR FREE!

TravelerHelpDesk was just trying to "buy" time until the online check-in processwas available and they would have charged me an extra US$500 for NOTHING

Scam site

Scam site. Absolute nightmare- essentially took £150 for a booking they didn't honour. No matter how much you think you're going to save, it absolutely is not worth it- just read these reviews. Thieves and scammers.

Total scam don’t book ur flight from them .

The worse travel agency I ever deal with took my $11,000 from my bank and never issued me flight and I been calling them so many times and everytime they and answer and explained to them about what happened they hang up on me totally disrespectful. They said they will give me refund within 5 days and I been waiting for months no answer at all . I called my credit card company and disputed the charge which it will take 90 days to get refund . I got scammed from there please don’t fall what they say , I rather you guys get ticket from actual airline and pay more than dealing with this stupid people . Most of the employees are from India .

I wish that I did my research before…

I wish that I did my research before booking tickets on this website. I thought that SmartFare would be a reputable company since they were advertised on Kayak.com. However, after booking my airline tickets and waiting for a confirmation to fly the next day, I realize that this company was fraudulent. They have the worst customer service representatives. Each time I asked questions about my itinerary, the representative would hang up the phone on me. Why are they able to continue to run this scam on people? How haven’t they been shut down? I am so disappointed that this could even happen to me. Wow!! I pray that they will be punished for preying on people. This is a real scam that should not go unnoticed. Please do your research before purchasing anything.

Scam Outfit - Buyer Beware

Unfortunately, we did not read the reviews before we purchased tickets in 2020 prior to the pandemic. The pandemic hit and Air France stated that we had a year to use the tickets. Prior to the expiration date we contacted THD and paid an additional $100+ to extend the credit. It's now 2022 and when we attempted to use the credit, we discovered that the price of the airfare increased so we paid the difference. The first red flag came when I asked for a breakout of the taxes and fees (the tickets were $452 more than what Air France charged on their website). Vivian failed to break down the fees and taxes more than to say that the airfare was $501 and the taxes and fees were $1,057 (second red flag). In all my years of travel, I never paid twice as much in fees and taxes than the actual airfare. To make matters worse, the tickets are still "in-process" two days later, and when I called and spoke to a different agent, I was told that they should be confirmed by Monday (four days later), because Air France is not open on the weekend. Really?? One day later I received another email from Vivian stating that Air France rejected the credit because it had expired. I sent them their email we’re it stated that the credit was good until the end of the year. I’m not confident that I will ever see my money In the meantime, I'm currently in the process of disputing the charge with my bank and submitting a formal complaint to the Better Business Bureau. Bottom line, just as the vast majority of the previous reviews have stated, this is a scam outfit, and should be avoided at all costs.

If I could give 0 stars, I would

I initially contacted this company because someone made a flight reservation for me that had to be canceled given that the company did not respond in time and I had to buy another flight ticket. When I asked to use my travel voucher they contacted me and said I had to pay more money on top of the voucher I already had, which was definitely more than if I had bought the ticket directly from the airline, but I wanted to use the voucher, so I went ahead and pay the extra money. 10 days later, I receive an email from the person who I had been in contact with, Davina, saying that the flight reservation was not booked and the airline had just informed her. She wanted me to pay $200 if I wanted to keep that reservation given that prices had gone up (of course, 10 days had already happened) or I could change the reservation to a different day and only pay $100 more. I asked her to refund the money I had initially paid when I use the voucher and she said I will receive an email confirmation in 15minutes and a refund in 10 days. I am still waiting for the email confirmation even though I have emailed her several times asking for it and of course I am still waiting for my money...

I hope this helps some of you. If you have been scammed by this company or SmartFares.com, make sure you do not complete the cancellation process. They will charge you and deduct "fees" at an exorbitant rate. File a complaint with Better Business Bureau. I did and it helped. I got a full refund.

Absolute scam. Don't book with these swindlers!

They will tell you that you will receive your ticket within 2 hours. Then the next day they tell you the ticket price got more expensive during the booking process and they couldn't issue the ticket. But if you pay a little extra you will have your ticket within 2 hours, guaranteed. Spoiler alert: You won't. Can't believe I fell for this twice.

In the end I even got a cheaper fare by calling the airline directly. Waiting for a refund now (supposedly within a week).

Vivian was Great!

Vivian was able to quickly help with a trip that was booked and immediately needed to be cancelled due to a sick friend that could no longer attend. I had originally read a bad review and was so concerned I wouldn’t be able to get a refund for a ticket that was just booked. Vivian was very patient and able to help refund the ticket that had only been booked an hour before. So thankful for their quick action and ability to help. Would recommend Vivian to anyone working with this company!

Scammers

never buy tickets from them they are scammers! they first offer and sell you tickets at the same price, then after a while they say that the airline canceled the flight and extort you to pay another half of the cost. At the same time, no one will notify you of the changes and they will refuse to return the money to you, speaking arrogantly, they will manipulate and offer a discount just to deceive you again. I returned my money through the bank, but they still have the audacity to write why I made a refund and continue to agree to their fraud!! never deal with this fake company.

Do not book through them

Do not book through them. They will lie that they booked the ticket and when you go to airport you will find out it is not booked. Then they will charge you double the price. STAY AWAY!!!!

They are scammers

They are scammers.
Out right scamming consumers.

I booked a flight on their website, got charged on my credit card, and yet I had to still call them to request for my ticket. Not only did I not have a "seat", I had to pay an extra $1000 for the next flight I can get on.

What kind of travel website, lets you book and pay, receive a confirmed payment and yet you still have to call them to request for your ticket? They are scammers. They should not be operating. They are robbing people.
