smartfares - travelerhelpdesk - since april and I have not received the E-ticket

I bought a ticket in April, then I requested the e-ticket confirmation. for some reason, the name of one of the passengers was totally different. then I called the airline and they said, I needed to contact the agency. I have been in contact with the agency since then, I have to pay 500 dollars more for the mistake that according to them was my fault, not a glitch in the system. then I requested the e-ticket again because I had to wait 24 hours more. Here I went again to request the e-ticket, and they sent me the e-ticket with a departure from San Francisco on 04/22/2023, instead of Athens on 07/10/2022.
They have told me that San Diego is the HQ of this company....
It does not matter if they are in San Diego. I need the e-tickets with the correct information.
I called several times to Customer service and tried to get that information through the chat, I asked for a supervisor. and since then agent 88, agent 76, agent 67, agent 89, agent 14, and several others hang up on me. Gustavo, Darlene, Pedro, and two other agents have not been able to send me the e-tickets.
Should they pretend for me to be at the airport and say Gustavo told me that that is okay? grrrr.
there are no responses from supervisors, or agents. Is someone in this company willing to help?

It's a scamming call center

It's actually a phone call center located in India, out to scam people dry.
They made me a great offer, lower than anything on the market. Then they insisted for me to give them my credit card info without receiving any document, flight plan, confirmation, link to the airline schedule, etc. They were very insistent and pressured me to give my payment information under the menace of losing the deal, saying I'd get the flight plan after having paid, etc.

After much insistance with the guy saying he had sent me a flight plan but me only receiving generic emails with links that were not opening up (actually the links began to work the next day, haha), the emails coming from different names than the name he had given me, I finally got a flight plan.
The cost was much higher than what I had been quoted, but the person categorically denied ever having sent me the the first offer. That was too much for me, after so many incongruities and blatant lies. I decided to call the airline to see if I could get that trip directly from them.

The airline's own booking agent told some of flights on my flight plan did not exist. Meaning, the airline did not fly to that destination at the hour and day the fraudster told me. The real fares were 2.5 times higher than what I had been quoted by Traveler Help Desk.
The airline booking agent told me that unfortunately the whole thing was a scam.

These guys advertise on Skyscanner under the name Smart Fares but operate under Traveler Help Desk and possibly other names. When I called, the guy gave an English name but had a strong Indian accent. Again, the name on his emails was different and written with typos.
The other guys I spoke to also gave an English name but had the same strong Indian accent and all seemed in the biggest hurry to get my credit card info without sending me any flight confirmation. They changed the information I was given by the first guy, to my shock saying it was wrong, seemingly on a whim.

Actually, all the guys at that phone number are doing everything they can to steal one another's "customers" (victims). The first guy was supposed to call me back but didn't do it right away so I called them back and another guy jumped in to take my request and asked me by email to send him my "datils". Here is the content of the email he sent me:
"Hi XXX (insert totally wrong sound spelling of my name),
Please forward flight datils.
Warm Regards,
XXXX"
This was the content of the email. For real.
A third one went as far as telling me the first offer was false and that I should do business with him instead. He was trying to steal my financial details from his colleague.

Looking back at all of that (and this is not even the whole thing), this is when I finally realized this was a scamming call center located in India.
I suppose they have email templates they send without adapting them much. The whole thing with the way they acted felt like a feeding frenzy. Such good money for free!

Of course people want to jump at such great offers but don't throw all caution to the wind and do check with the airline(s), even if a correct flight plan would not necessarily mean that you would get actual flight tickets. These people don't have the bond deposits nor the licences normal travel agencies need to have in order to operate, so I don't know how anyone could get their money back.
It looks like income tax fraud call centers evolved into flight tickets fraud centers.

Without due diligence, the only thing that will fly away, and very far from you, will be your money. 💸💸💸

It was my lifetime regret of making a booking via this company

I booked the flight tickets for my family in March. It stated that I will receive a confirmation of my booking within 24 hours. However, I didn't receive anything after this period so I felt very insecure and tried to cancel my booking. But when I called them, they said I can't cancel it because it's over 24 hours. Fine. Then I waited for my itinerary. After two days, I received an itinerary but I found that one of my family members' name was not spell correctly.

I called them to correct the name. The staff just cancelled my booking without checking with me. He mentioned he has to cancel the booking first before correcting the name. But the problem was he can't make the booking on the same flight. If I have to book again, I have to pay USD300 each!!!! I insisted that it was not my mistake and I don't accept this situation. After a one-and-a-half-hour talk and escalation to the so-called manager, they agreed to give me full refund. But they need to separate this payment into two: cancellation refund + base fare.

In the end, they just returned the cancellation refund and held up USD750. I wrote to them several times but no answer. No one replied. The staff who guaranteed to give me back all my money simply disappeared.

It was a scam and a company that aims to cheat. Never, never consider to buy from them or you will regret like I do.

Traveler Help Desk Sucks

Worst ever travel company to ever exist. I had credit with them that was set to expire after a year. The credit has now lapsed and now I cant use it at all. It's all gone. A courtesy reminder would of been great as it has been a whole year since these fares were looked at so that I can organise to pay to renew it again. But no, not a single email, communication or peep, such a stupid business that doesnt care for there customers. Such an absolute waste of time and money this company!!!!

They promised full refund and didnt issued. scammers

I have bought a ticket from them and got an email saying that the ticket could not be confirmed by the airline and need to call them urgently and get a different one. They said there was only 1 flight left and only 1 seat, which I obviously discovered later that was a scam. They charged me 2599USD for this different flight, when i searched again i found a lot of different options cheaper and the dates i needed. I got a different flight directly for the airline and asked Traveler HelpDesk for a cancellation in less than 24hs which was supposed to be eligible for a full refund. After trying to take ,first half the money and later 500usd in cancellation fee, at the end they said they would give me a full refund via PayPal, which was my payment method. First they said it would take 3-4 days and this is day number 4 with no news from them. I called them today 10 times, when i say the word refund they hang up on me. Now they say the refund is being issued and that will take 3-4 more days. I know they will continue kicking this until the day of the flight and wont refund my money. I need a solution asap.

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would. This company is terrible. I should have read reviews before booking a flight through them. I spoke to the agent and from the time I saw the fare on the site and 8 minutes later on the call the fare went up $150. Then I said no thanks and the agent said they could do it for $90 less. Since it was a trip to see my mom I decided to do it. They then ran my card for not only the original quoted fare but also the discounted amount. I know on the call I agreed to only the discounted amount. I then called talking to the Indian accent customer service agents that finally let me speak to a supervisor also with an accent. He said he would listen to the call and call me back which he did not. I then called back the next day and they said they would only be refunding the discounted fare and not the larger amount. Also that refund would not be back in my hands for approximately 10 days. Worst company ever, do not do business with them. I will be surprised if I actually get my refund in the 10 days. Just use another company unless you want headaches and lies.

Make good business decisions

If you are reading this wondering whether to book with this company, I warn you like many others, don’t do it. There is a reason for why many people are disgruntled with the service. To cut a long story short, this company has been an absolute pain regarding refunding my money after I complied with all their T’s and C’s and now after doing everything I got sent 2 emails with differing refund payments which makes no sense after being made to wait 4 months for a simple response.
I’m not completely mad at them as I failed to do my due diligence and thoroughly check them out. All I’m hoping to do is help some poor soul from not making the same mistake I did and do business with them.
If you’re reading this and considering to do business with this company, save your money and headache by staying clear from them. I’m just trying to help someone not deal with issues down the line.

P.S: It’s getting towards 6months with the promise of money refund in the next 2weeks.

Simply yours,
Concerned customer

Horrible coordination.

Horrible coordination.
They scheduled my flights to coordinate so I would have about 30 minutes to get from one end of the air port to the other, which is possible, however my initial flight was delayed in arriving which caused me to miss the connection flight.
In addition to that failed coordination, when I requested a refund for their failed coordination, I was told that all the flights were on time, which I can personally account that they were NOT.
I for one, will never be using this service again and I urge others to take this review in consideration before doing so.
Thank you for your time.

I feel like I was scammed

This company's customer service provided me with wrongful information. They sold me an extension of one year to postpone my travel after the covid19 pandemic, because I was unable to travel to the US and to use the tickets that I bought in 2020 (the border of my country being closed, it was impossible to do it). This company asked me for a huge sum of money for an en extension. It turns out that what I was sold was not true: I lost my ticket, they refused to refund me the money that I paid for a non-existant credit. In other words: I got scammed.

I haven't even started the journey yet…

I haven't even started the journey yet and already they have added charges to our tickets for changes made by the airlines, saying we have to pay additional fees. On the most recent change, we now have to pay for new taxes or our changed flights cannot be accepted--taxes even though the flight changed by 30 minutes and the far didn't change at all. I simply don't understand what is going on. The story always changes. There is no evidence or clarity to the explanation. There is no receipt. There is no demonstration of the change of fares. You just have to take their word for everythign and they demand these fees every 2-3 months until you are traveling (well, I don't know that for sure because I haven't even started the journey yet). Having read these reviews, I now feel that if I cancel I can't even get the credit on the airline. KAYAK needs to cut this company from their sellers as that is how I found them, too. I'll be reaching out to KAYAK and the airlines, who owe it to clients to sell to REPUTABLE travel agencies.

Worst company to deal with.

Worst company to deal with.

I booked my tickets via Aeroflot airline using Travelerhelpdesk but had to cancel the flight in the last minute. The tickets were non-refundable but Travelhelpdesk offered an option to pay extra $320 to keep the ticket credit available for future trips and issued the 'future credit' amounting to USD 413 per passanger.

However, when I called them to book a new ticket (which costs $293 on the airline website) using my 'future credit', they told me to pay $254 more to cover the 'fare change' fee and the rebooking fee. It's nonsense!

This is literally the worst "agency" on…

This is literally the worst "agency" on the face of the planet. I have never been so horrified by the disrespect, the deceitfulness, the absolute scum of the earth I have had to deal with through this. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT LET THEM GET AHOLD OF YOUR MONEY.

They will scam you at every turn, and their policies change every moment...one second they are saying the airline doesn't allow them to do certain things, and the next they say it's an internal policy. ALL LIARS.

They advertise through kayak, which is how I found them...little did I know they would leave me in a situation where my brother is stranded because of COVID and then only offer the solutions of a credit (WITH THEM...HELL NO) for a quarter of the price of the fare, or spend 6x as much on a new ticket.

I don't know where this company is located, but there is nothing more terrifying than being overseas in a foreign country where you don't speak the language and this good ole American company leaves you stranded.

Do not recommend

Do not recommend, better to buy directly from Air Canada or other airline. Travelerhelpdesk will make sure they take your money for any change.
Every change will cost you minimum 100$-200$ usd per person unless you ask for a discount and the manager offers 50$ off the scam fare change fee given (even though its covid period and airlines waived fees). They say the fare difference is covered by their travel insurance offered, but read the insurance fine print and it states that it is not covered under government travel restrictions.
Anyway, never again, you may pay a bit more by booking with Air Canada directly but if you need to cancel or change, you are sure they will act with professionalism.
Update:
After writting this review, a manager from Travelerhelpdesk did a good job and reimbursed the charges. I appreciated the effort.

Beware of TravelerHelpDesk.com!!!!

- Used a 3rd party system to search and purchase Spirit Airline tickets on 6/26/2021, for travel on 12/5/2021
- Don't recall if it was Expedia, Kayak or which 3rd party. Either way, did not purchase tickets directly through Spirit - ended up purchasing through travelerhelpdesk.com
- Spirit canceled flight due to covid. I was not notified by Spirit or travelhelpdesk.com
- Happened to check the tickets 11/10/2021 to find flight canceled
- Called travelerhelpdesk.com. They said I had to use credit in 30 days, or decide immediately if I would take a partial refund. Took the refund. I have a document indicating a partial refund from travelerhelpdesk.com
- I called Spirit. They said since they cancelled the flight, they issued a full refund to travelerhelpdesk.com on 11/10/2021
- Communicated to TravelerHelpDesk again and they say they don't charge for their services. I told them they already got the full refund from Spirit.
- I have made calls to travelerhelpdesk.com and been hung up on almost 1/2 the time
- Finally talked to supervisor and supposedly he put in a request to accounting dept to issue refund
- They say they will issue the refund, but it's 12/13/2021 and it has not come yet. Supposedly 12/15/2021
- Even if I do get the refund, these people are deceptive, manipulative and fraudulent. This is absolutely the worst group I have ever dealt with for travel.
- No airline or 3rd party should EVER contract with this company.
- On doing research, I read there is an umbrella company that runs multiple of these outfits.
- Bottom line - do not ever buy tickets through a 3rd party unless you are willing to accept this behavior - go directly to the airlines.
- Filed a complaint with Spirit Airlines
- I believe TravelerHelpDesk sits on customer’s money deceptively to get interest. I believe they would never issue the refund without harassment
