On 16th january I was supposed to fly…miserable company
On 16th january I was supposed to fly from Copenhagen to Adana. The fırst came 20 minute delayed and We arrived 43 minute later in İstanbul. I missed the next flight to Adana and slept in a hotel. I called Tripcom several times and they told me that they didnt got noticed about the delay. And information I provided then from the Sabiha Airport website. Later I called Pegasus Airlines and they told me that Trip com knew very well about the delay... I have called and wrote to trip.com they dont read Any mails. Because I never got Any reply. When you call Them there is lot of noise in the background. They promise that they Will solve your problem. 1 hour later you receive an email Which says nothing. This is going and on until you give up. Because you get frustrated and feel that you are talking to a wall. No problem solving no feedback nothing. They are supposed to refund My costs and New ticket, nothing happened. They are not Even able to make a research about a delay.. I WİLL NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!
Just bad business
When absolutely everything goes according to plan, TripAdvisor is good, but if ANYTHING goes wrong, 1. good luck trying to get a hold of them, 2. They outsource their customer services to a company called Viator. 3. They will likely side with their business partners.
In my case, I have used this site several times and came to realize a few things, like they charge much more than what it would cost to directly purchase from vendors, so you are likely thinking this is better since you can at least have peace of mind if something goes wrong? nope. Besides vague descriptions on some of the excursions that don't actually narrow down what you will get, communication between you and the vendor is nonexistent. On a recent trip to Italy, I was unfortunately laid over in Germany for several hours, my spouse paid hundreds for an excursion a couple of hours after we were supposed to arrive. From the moment I would likely not make it, I attempted to contact the vendor through their app and the phone number listed by the trip advisor, but both were ignored. Upon arriving, I called trip advisor (took a while to find a working number) and spoke to Viator their sub contractors, who basically said they couldn't do anything but would try to get a hold of the company to reschedule. They got back to me via email a few days later only stating I could not receive reimbursement or a rescheduled time. I called and once again, they were useless and said they would take another look. Despite many good-faith efforts on my end, I was once again denied reimbursement or an explanation even though I sincerely attempted to reschedule with the vendor and never even got a response.
To make matters worse I even tried to post a review of what occurred with the vendor, I mean I paid hundreds for a trip I never got to do and after posting only a few minutes later, it was taken down. I literally paid for the right to leave a review and they still took it down. Talk about adding insult to injury.
Ultimately they lost my business forever, and I would never recommend them to anyone. They chose the easy way out rather than work out a solution with me or offer any semblance of customer service.

TripAdvisor is an unbalanced and unfair website that attracts a high number of naturally negative people for a keyboard moan.
Putting a management response to a poor review, that is incorrect in context or full of misinformation, is usually the response and often goes unconsidered by TA. with a response 'its within our guidelines'
Our business is busy with an excellent reputation but
the only time we have experienced a run of positive reviews is when we have reached out to our customers on a regular basis [pre covid]. We no longer do this as every form of business now requests a 'how was your visit' and websites such as Google do the reaching out to the customer. In fact, we now discourage people from using TripAdvisor
In short, I hate how TripAdvisor is formatted and think its outdated. We find the general public opinion is that the site is used by most people who like to moan naturally so the reviews have little credibility.
If a restaurant has an online booking system look at their feedback from customers or look at Google reviews for a better balanced impression.

After paying for the cancellation policy, this company has stolen over 200 pounds in vouchers.
When putting in the voucher code it says there is an error, and when contacting them over 10 agents kept hanging the phone on me. They literally steal your money.

I came across a scam in Hurghada Egypt where four hotels where part of a marketing scam. They used the Royal Star logo to upgrade terrible hotels which are failing. They decided to block my reviews thus not letting the customer know the scam. However they would sell you stay in these rip off hotels. They are deliberately misleading people for profit.

This company just cares about the money they can get from their customers, they are shameless. I had a very bad experience with one tour that I booked through them like 3 years ago, keep in mind that until that point I had booked maybe more than 20 tours with them and I had no issues. A soon as I complained about the bad tour, they sided with the vendor and did not want to give me my money back. I called my bank and they contacted Viator and still refused to reimbursed me, so my bank took care of it and absorbed the cost, Viator did not pay for anything. So after that, they added me to a black list and now I cannot book any tours with them, no matter how many different credit cards I use, I have to do it through my girlfriend's account now. To block someone just because that person was dissatisfied with a product or service that they received, is so wrong, that means that they don't care about the types of services that they offer, they just care about the money they can make. The worst part is that they are basically a monopoly when it comes to tours, the other sites are very small, so they take advantage of that. Be careful with the types of tours that you book through them because if something goes wrong, Viator won't do anything about it and if you complain, they will block your account.
What a scam this has become
Trip Advisor used to be good but over the years has degenerated into a waste of time for people posting honest and factual reviews. I have over 399 contributions but as soon as I posted a couple of negative reviews which we true but they got removed, When I asked them about it after a lot of persistence they advised they couldnt say why as it was system generated (what rubbish is that). I even pointed out a reviewer who reviewed 3 different places in the same month with a say of 2 weeks in each who celbrated their birthday in 3 different countries according to the reivews. They even described services in each hotel that they had great experence with (however they were closed during covid so how did they experience them)...reviews are still live. My latest review was a 1 star which was woeful and checkin check out within 3 hours but again they will not say why it was removed...even though I could provide proof I checked in and out. Don't waste your time use trust pilot or google reviews

I bought a flight with trip.com they cancelled me the departure flight and then the returning one. It has passed more than 3 months talking to them all single days and finally they undertood that since they cancelled the flight (I payed 1292.2 American dollars) they must do a refund. Trip did a request to have a full, they told me that they will give me my money back, but they gave me a date and do not do anything and the time have passed. They tell me lies regarding the airline and that they have not given the money back. So, I called British airways and they told me that they do not have any request from trip in process. Every time I get in contact with trip they tell me new dates to have my full refund ready and those days are not true. I feel they want to steal the money! be careful!

Worst service!!!!! I've paid an extra amount in my reservation so I can have assistance if I have any problems. I'm trying to change my flight and the page just doesn't run the payment, and their "assistance" is inexistent! Nobody answers or gives any option to solve the problems. It's a fraud, they offer and charge you for a service that doesn't work.

Travelers Beware TripAdvisor Viator
I'm from the U.S.A. and traveled to Aswan Egypt for a cruise up the Nile River to Luxor where I am right now.
Over a month ago I booked a cruise with Trip Advisor / Viator for Saturday April 2, 2022.
On Friday, The night before the trip I was notified the my booking is Canceled, Less than 15 hours notice.
But I was able to rebook for Sunday April 3rd. That rebooking, was Canceled with less 12 hours notice. Luckily the team where I was staying had great connections and got me on a cruise to Luxor for Monday the 4th.
I am Luckily enough to have a little wiggle room, Unlike a lot of travelers,
I personally will not trust Trip Advisor / Viator to get me a taxi now and in the Future.
DON’T BOTHER
I now remember some of the reasons I largely neglect Trip Advisor. I once regularly posted reviews for the benefit of others and excellent businesses.
On a number of occasions when trying to submit reviews, including just now which prompted this review.
After taking the time to accurately describe our experience, the Trip Advisor system deleted my review prior to submission.
My conclusion, DON’T BOTHER.
Can you imagine getting to a Carribean…
Can you imagine getting to a Carribean Island and finding out the hotel reservation made through trip advisor does not exist. The hotel claims they told Trip Advisor they could not honor the reservation, but trip advisor never told me. What a screw up. My advice is to make all reservations directly with the hotel. Never join Trip Advisor Plus--a worthless $100
