TRI UK is the UK’s largest triathlon retailer and mail order specialist. The company was established in 1991 and took the UK and international markets by storm. During the 1990’s TRI UK changed the face and shape of the triathlon retail market by being the first to introduce triathlon wetsuit hires, triathlon bike hires and the triathlon Package. It is safe to say that TRI UK has been the biggest market influence in bringing triathlon kit to novices and the mass market, at affordable, give-it-a-go prices.

Avoid this terrible company
Had terrible experience in store, which has been covered up by the owner who seems to only be concerned with making sure my review is not available to other unsuspecting customers.
There is no smoke without fire and a quick search on the internet about tri-uk and it's crook owners should tell you all you need to know.
Such a shame they don't put as much effort into customer service as they do censoring genuine reviews.
Excellent Customer Service
The team at TRI UK provided a excellent customer service during my wife’s purchase of ‘LIV AVOW’ including the bike fit. Subsequently we both went out to blow the cobwebs of the new bike and to get used to the feel of the bike and for her it was huge step from her old giant OCR 1.
The first thing that came apparent during our 30 mile outing is that she was cruising ahead of me whether it was uphill, downhill or on the flat and my legs were working overtime on my old Giant OCR 3 Ultegra 27 speed in trying to keep up!
I was relaying this tale to the TRI UK team on my endeavours to keep up with the AVOW and how the modern bike out performed my Giant OCR 3 which I purchased from TRI UK in 2008 and in they day were both very good spec bikes.
In attempt to keep a demoralised senior citizen feeling’s in tack they suggested that the best way to prove what a difference between the modern bike frame and components make was to allow me to trial a demo bike!
Out of the vast range in store came the 2017 Focus Paralane 105 carbon frame endurance road bike. Simply they said ‘give it a go’. Eagerly awaiting our next bike outing I took it out on the Somerset levels, which also has some interesting hill sections.
Within the first mile I could feel that the Focus was truly a step up from my old Giant and the endurance geometry set up with its shorter reach was providing a very comfortable riding position and a very responsive ride.
I don’t wish to go into the details of the bikes specifications you can read them on line for yourselves all I can say that it delivers what it say’s and it gave me a truly comfortable all day ride.
Going back to our outing the AVOW was now clearly in my sights and I was finding that I had no problems in keeping up and met every part of the course with ease. After 32 miles I felt has I could carry on further the only thing stopping me was the smell of the Sunday roast dinner’s cooking in the pubs as we passed by an there was also one waiting for me at home!
I would like to thank the TR UK team in not only providing an excellent service but also getting my ‘Mojo’ back into cycling and I know now that it’s the endurance bike range that meets my needs. Now it decision time for which one! Will it be the Giant Defy, Focus Paralane or the Cannondale Synapse!! Hmm!
Great service and great staff.
I bought a road bike from these guys at great price and had it fitted as well. All of the staff team were great and enthusiastic. The guy who did the bike fit was great and gave a few tips whilst it was done, definitely worth the drive and i'd go there again for another bike.
Excellent service and knowledge.
I have just come away with the perfect pair of running trainers for me.
I am 22, training for the Royal Marines (which requires a lot of running!) and as a result developed shin splints. My physio recommended using their bio-mechanical running assessor in TriUK Yeovil. After trying on 5 different pairs of their trainers, i was paired with some trainers that gave me the best results and figures for my leg.
This service was conducted by David. Very knowledgable and helpful and spoke through all of the results so I could understand what my running pattern and style was like.
5/5!
The best service I've had a long while!
I recently bought a new Giant TCR Advanced 1 from Triuk Yeovil using a cyclescheme voucher. From the outset, the service was fantastic. I initially spoke to Joe via email who was able to price match a competitor's site and was very patient in explaining the cyclescheme and purchasing process to me. After numerous emails, Joe could have easily gotten fed up with me - but he was kind from start to finish, taking a deposit over the phone and reserving my bike for nearly a month for me.
When buying a bike, you receive a free 'guru bike fit' which I had conducted by John. He was extremely knowledgeable and obviously an avid cyclist himself, so I felt confident that the fit would be done well. The machine they use is very cool and simulates different riding styles to get an overall fit. John's attention to detail spanned even to my seat which was more cushioned than the machine, causing him to raise the seat by a few millimetres! It is also worth noting that you get a free bike service too after 4-6 weeks.
Note that, given my bike had been reserved for nearly a month (and subsequently gone out of stock), I was apprehensive that I may be given a display model or that mine may have been knocked in the warehouse. The complete opposite... the bike was in absolute pristine condition without a mark on it and must have been kept packaged.
My Cyclescheme voucher was delayed and with a sportive coming up, I was keen to collect the new bike. Christian was able to offer this as a service, allowing me to pay in cash for the bike and have a refund when my voucher arrived... just another example of Triuk going above and beyond to keep their customers happy.
The entire experience was a very pleasant one, I turned up over an hour late to my bike fit appointment and was still greeted with smiling and friendly faces by David and Christian. I can't express enough how impressed I am with the service I received from Triuk, you really are leaps and bounds beyond your competition and are competitively priced too. Go you!!
Thanks also to Alison who oversaw the whole transaction :)
Look forward to shopping with you again soon!
Excellent choice and customer service.
In the market for new bikes, my partner and I searched the internet for information on makes and models and came up with a short-list. Wanting to see them in the flesh, we searched for stockists and selected TriUK for a visit as they had all the models we were interested in. When we went into the store in Yeovil we were totally amazed by the number of bikes on display,
Steve's product knowledge was excellent and he spent time listening to what we wanted to do with the bikes so that we did not end up with unsuitable models. We had Bike-Fit assessments with Dan who was quickly able to identify key areas and make adjustments. They were both extremely helpful.
We are both very pleased with our bikes and have no hesitation in recommending TriUK. If you cannot find a suitable bike with them you won't find one anywhere.
Running assessment
I went into the store needing some help and advise on the type of running trainers that would be best for me. I was served by a very friendly and helpful individual, David. He spent a large amount of time with me, carrying out tests on the treadmill with various trainer types to find the perfect match for me. I am so happy with the service received that I will definitely be recommending to friends and family!
Excellent service
Went in for gait and running analysis for a new pair of trainers. David was very knowledgable and sorted a good discount. Very happy and will definitely shop at Triuk again. Thanks
Wet suit hire & purchase
We left it rather late to hire wet suits for an open water Tri course. We ordered on the Weds and the arrived on the Saturday by Royal Mail which was fortunate as the course began the following Monday!
The sizing guide was accurate and the three wet suits fitted well. I'm no expert but the quality seemed at least as good as those others were wearing on the course and are certainly good enough for us as beginners to race in. It was made clear that the hire period ran until the end of August. Having got good use out of them we have decided to keep them. We have had no problems and would recommend using TRIUK to others.
Bike fit - great service
Went for a bike fit - haven't tested bike since yet (injured), but can thoroughly vouch for the quality of service. I'm not very knowledgable about technical side of cycling or mechanics etc, and Dan was very patient and helpful answering my many questions well. Bike fit seemed very thorough - the machine can be adjusted as you're cycling on it so easy to try new tweaks.
Have also previously bought wetsuit and tri suit here several years ago, where as a complete beginner (was just prior to doing first Ironman) the service and advice I received was exemplary.
Definitely recommend TriUK to any triathlete or cyclist. Well worth the money and drive up to Yeovil for me.
Many thanks.
Fantastic customer service
I went to Tri UK to have an open water wetsuit fitted. I was initially happy with what I got - apart from the fact that when I really got stuck into my open water swimming training I found that after only about 25 mins my arms became very heavy to lift out of the water like I was fighting the wetsuit with it being too tight across the shoulders. I'm almost 6ft 3in and the manufacturer (2XU) specs stated that the Medium Tall would be best - which oddly according to 2XU is also suitable for someone who is 5ft 9in. Big discrepancy! TriUK emailed me tips about ensuring the fit was right and how to put the suit on correctly but when the issue persisted they invited me back into the store for another fitting. I was borderline between a Medium Tall and a larger size but TriUK were very accommodating in exchanging the suit for one that was slightly larger despite my original purchase being almost 3 months ago. They wanted me to be happy with my purchase and I left with a Foor suit in the right size and and am heading back to the triathlon lake tonight for a swim which I'm really looking forward to. It's companies like TriUK who put customer service and satisfaction first and foremost that restores ones faith in humanity! Thanks Elliot looked after me really well. Highly recommended for great gear, professionalism and above all customer service. The Richer Sounds of the Triathlon industry.....!
Best place for Triathlon Beginners
My wife and I bought our first road bikes, as well as wetsuits, tri suits and all the various accessories from Tri UK in February.
The experience was fantastic. The staff made us feel extremely welcome at the Yeovil store, and took their time to make sure we were happy with every aspect of the kit. We had started with the triathlon bundles, but they were more than happy to customise the packages to suit our needs.
We have been using the bikes and kit for several weeks now, and are extremely happy. No issues at all, and we really did leave the shop with everything we'll need for the race.
The staff were even kind enogh to collect us from the train station and run us back with our bikes - quite simply 5 star customer service.
If you're preparing for your first triathlon race - a visit to TriUK is a must. The staff answered every question we had, did not push unnecessary kit on us at any point, and always focused on what we needed. Very highly recommended.
Unhelpful, unpleasant and condescending service. Should be avoided at all costs.
I bought a SRAM eTap groupset from TriUK on the 13/02.2016 during the London Bike Show. They didn't have the crankset in stock, and they assured me the missing part would be delivered "within 7 to 10 days".
But sadly that wasn't the case. The delivery date kept changing (first it was "end of March", then it became "mid-April") and I could see they were not really interested in dealing with the problem (they even offered me a "warranty-returned" chainset as a stopgap solution. Is that even safe?).
As my frustration was getting bigger, they were getting even more condescending. When I told them an online retailer had the same part available at their website, they told me it was "impossible" and that “no other retailers had the part available”. So that prevented me from trying to buy it from the online retailer (and get a refund from TriUK afterwards) so I could get my build running.
Yes they eventually offered me a refund, but they took their time and only after the part was "sold out" at the online retailer. It was obvious they were not trying the solve the problem, they were trying to "get rid" of it, the "easy way out". So how good was that?
In the meantime, my build had ground to a halt, and I had the (in)complete eTap groupset (along with ALL the other parts) lying in my living room, gathering dust. In the meantime TriUK had already been paid in full...
After many e-mails (and many days) I decided to have another look at the online retailer. Of course they had the part for sale, so I decided to buy it just to prove TriUK wrong. The part was delivered in less than 24 hours (and I even got a 12% discount, something I didn't get from TriUK). I even sent them pictures of the part and of the invoice, so they could see that the information they gave me was wrong. They were completely unphased though. They simply couldn't care less.
So I can honestly say this has been the most frustrating customer experience I had in my life.
Would I use TriUK again? Not even if they were the only bike-parts supplier left. I would rather give up cycling!
Would I recommend TriUK to a friend? Not even to an enemy!
So do your research, check their many negative reviews, and take your money somewhere else. There are many other shops willing to have you as a customer. Don't spend your hard-earned cash at TriUK!
Brilliant
Great shop with a big selection of clothing & bikes. We've purchased 6 bikes in the last 18 months and spent a small fortune, but the service from Christian and John has been great. The staff always seen courteous and polite with good knowledge and if they don't know something they'll find out for you.
Keep it up guys I'm sure you'll be having more of our money in the future👍
Great customer service!
As a complete beginner to cycling it was a bit daunting when I first walked in. I needn't of worried! The staff here are not only knowledgable but so friendly. They talked me through everything, from what sort of bike I needed depending on the riding I would be doing to advice on how to change gear (told you I was a novice!) and positioning for braking. I have dealt mainly with Christian and John but all the staff are on hand to help. These two guys have helped me choose two bikes now, both of which have been perfect. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tri UK for all your triathlon/ cycling needs. As a family (husband, son and myself) we have purchased 6 bikes from there now and we wouldn't go anywhere else. Also love the cafe!
Absolutely superb customer service & knowledge of their many quality products
I have used TriUK twice for buying bikes, a Giant TT bike which they gave me excellent advice, my many questions were all answered patiently and once the choice was made I had an excellent bike fit. I'm very impressed that they try out all the bikes they sell.
I recently purchased a Cervelo S3 which again I had excellent service & an even better bike fit on their new electronic fitting machine. However, through no fault of TriUk's the bike had a very rare faulty set of forks which TriUK got straight in touch with Cervelo and arranged a replacement frame & forks. As a gesture of goodwill Cervelo sent the 2016 improved version which was great, I had a new bike fit and absolutely top class customer satisfaction from everyone from the sales guys, to the management to the bike mechanics.
I genuinely can't speak highly enough of the TriUK team.
I would highly recommend them to anyone & will definitely continue to use them.
Great service for a beginner like me
I was a little bit daunted entering a large cycle shop like this as a novice but was made to feel at ease by Martin. He helped convince me a Giant Defy 5 was a good choice for a beginner like me, he couldn't have been more helpful. Oh and I'm really happy with it after taking it out for the first time today, thanks again.
Definitely would Recommend!
Recently picked up a Giant Defy 5 from the guys and girls over at TriUk. Seriously good price near to the end of the season, especially with the added extras that came with the package I got.
I'm pretty new to cycling and they were really helpful explaining what I needed and some advice which really helped in the first few weeks on the road.
Cheers
Matt
I wouldn't if I were you. I definitely won't again!
Bought a bike from them at London Triathlon 2015 and they substituted it for a different, larger one with gearing problems while I arranged transport. Didn't notice until I got home. Contacted them and they don't respond.
Had the bike checked out and it requires complete new chain and sprocket set plus front mech.
NOT happy and will pursue in small claims court
Excellent customer service!
We aren't local, but Tri UK were the only company to go to when my son needed his first road bike. This entailed a 7hr round trip, but worth every penny. His needs were enquired about and careful consideration given to making sure the bike was suitable, due to the distance we had travelled, a staff member missed their break to carry out the fitting there and then. Excellent service, excellent price and excellent coffee! We'll be back!
