If you assess this company you mainly assess the one product they have: their software packed "TuneUp Utilities".
Used this program for years on an ever increasing number of PCs. It looks like and "interface program" and more technical friends tell me this indeed: Windows has all these functions incorporated. Still, running TU does seems to have a good effect on the PC and it is always good to get the feeling to be in control yourself (even if TU is doing the job in the background at least it gives pop-ups about the things it sorts out for you).

The latest version (2012) adds features that go beyond defragmentation, clearing out the register etc. Turbo-mode once configured turns you ancient laptop back to where it was: speedy but maybe without some features that did not exist when you bought it.

One can keep the software running for ever: the license never expires. One can either upgrade to a newer version or opt to buy the latest version e.g. to install on one more PC. Update or new: the license goes for installation on 3 PC. Updating or full new installation goes smoothly. Older versions are always kept available on the TU web site. That is a great service that respects old customers.

Why not 5 stars?
The module to fine tune your Internet settings has not been updated ever since. In stead of running an online Internet access speed test the user is still asked to provide these detail themselves. I keep struggling with the difference and conversion between Mbps, KB, MB etc. This should be different.

With all computers under my care I need a lot of licenses. Some go back years; one has been upgraded but a number are from year x, an other number from year Y etc. In the early days I printed the registration code out. Now I keep a copy of the email in Evernote. One License goes for 3 PC. Licenses get uninstalled and recycled on other PCs etc. Administration becomes a job:which license goes with which PC; which upgrade code has been used on to top up (upgrade) which original license etc.
Maybe TuneUp Utilities could (like e.g. Symantec) provide an online license tracking account to its users? That could help; already because it would only centralize information like registration codes and upgrades used, I would think.

It is not just about designing with each new version a new interface.
Innovation and keeping customers close are a must too.

Started with the free demo version and soon became convinced that the price of £15.99 was worth paying for the speed and performance gains, will also be able to use on the wife's netbook which is in dire need of a cleanup

I tried to take advantage of their offer & was asked to download. I was then told "do you really want to uninstall this program?" I said no then tried several times until I git fed up & said YES. Not sure if I have the correct program installed & have lost my money~beware

The programme is very good, I've tried several programmes and this is the best yet. Easy to use and it works!

It`s beyound my expectations, I can really have a computer well cared, with all maintenance up-to-date, optimized and clean whenever I need.

Software downloads within seconds of making a payment. The software itself is excellent - both in keeping my PC's running smoothly, but also reviving an old laptop - cleaning it up and making it almost as good as new.

Excellent - bar the one query of whether this is still AVG or not: hopefully yea, otherwise someone has pirated their software! But the product looks, reads and performs very well - first impressions!
Going on performance from my association with AVG's anti viral etc software, this is a real goodie on the internet scene, and already many times recommended in the past - this looks like following the same pattern.
What more do I want - an easy contact [not telephone but email] with the company in case of any queries AND to praise!

Always there and does what it says. Instant download and no problems with tune up installed. 3rd year with it and always happy to renew.

i had almost lost faith in software that claims to tune up your PC BUT i can highly recommend this software, been using for a couple of years and its stable, updates properly and does what it says on the tin. I have just got the new 2012 and it has improved even more. good work people, please keep up the good work!!! 10/10 Cheers

A great program to help you keep your computer running smoothly.

I have used this program for about 2 years now and it is superb. I have not had any pc problems since I began using it, it sorts out all the little errors that mount up and cause a pc to missbehave or crash.

I have downloaded the 2012 version and it seems even better and has speeded up my aging pc considerably.

I have been using Tune Up utilities for many years and have found it great value for money. Every thing works great from initial trial use to the upgrade of each version and daily use. I have never had one single error message. I use the 3 licences on the three machines in the house and I think I get at least a couple of extra years out of each machine just by keeping them all in a clean and healthy condition. Over the years I have grown to always accept the recommendations with full confidence.

I have just upgraded from 2011 to 2012.

I only wish it would help me permanently get rid of McAfee "anti virus" so I can install something of my choice.

The tuneup site is easy to use and explains software capabilities and prices clearly. Upgrade options are clear.
The software works as advertised but it leaves the user firmly in control. Its designers have clearly understood that although some users want an automatic utility, others prefer to supervise what the software does for them.
