Cold Call on 89 Year Old Woman

A man called Dean cold called my 89 year mother and tried to persuade her to have her boiler and radiator system checked and replaced or improved. Luckily my mother phoned me and I told Dean to leave. This is not a malicious review, it is my expereince of how Dean operated, he even tried to pressure me on the phone. I intend to report UK Home Serve to Trading Standards.

I would like to add to this. I apologize if you got the wrong impression, however what actually happened is that you mum was called and offered an appointment in regards to improving her heating system, in this call and the follow up call she would have been asked, as a retiree and especially as a sole occupant, if she deals with it herself and if she would like someone with her at the appointment. For the appointment to go ahead she must have said she was happy. Obviously over the telephone we have no way of knowing anyone's age. Once Dean got to the house and your mothers age became apparent he did go ahead with the appointment with her blessing but then when it came to the end it was Dean who insisted she call you before she made any decisions as per company protocol.
Unfortunately during this call you informed him you were on your way and if he was still there when you got there you threaten physical violence. We do not tolerate threats against our staff so will be reporting this ourselves.
Dean left, and again following protocol left all company information, your mothers quote and his telephone number and you proceeded to call him and threaten him again.
Also our company name is UK Home Save, as per the literature left at your mothers.

Matthew explained everything so clearly…

Matthew explained everything so clearly and showed me the images of all my radiators that had an enormous build up of sludge in them. No wonder they had been so inefficient over the last few years! The team of Kelvin and Declan came to sort it out. With the machine they used I saw all the sludge come out and believe me it was a huge amount. They managed to get every radiator working to what they should be hot all over! I am absolutely delighted with the end result a nice warm toastie home and it will certainly save me money on my oil bills.

Worked quickly and efficiently

Arrived on time explained what they were going to do, flush the central heating, fit new filter, bleed and balance radiators, fit radiator shields. All done in a cheerful and professional manner, hopefully in due course will reap the rewards with lower bills.

Very easy experience

Very easy experience - 10 am Dean arrived, checked our system thoroughly and showed us the build up of sludge in our radiators and calculated the efficiency of our radiators - highest 62%, lowest 40% (most of our 11 were only in the 40's. Discussed the savings should we have a new filter and a whole system flush. Agreed to have these jobs done.
1 pm the guys arrived to complete the work. V cheerful and chatty, worked quickly and cleanly. 2.45 pm all completed. The amount off sludge removed was incredible.
Would certainly recommend having it done, and these guys to do it (Calven and his workmate).
