Do not know how they got hold of my…

Do not know how they got hold of my elderly father's details, he lives in Derbyshire, but they turned up and sold him more than £1k stuff he does not need. Will be going to trading standards.

Updated: thank you for agreeing the refund, appreciated. But still unsure as to what it was that led your staff to a) contact my elderly and vulnerable father unsolicited, and b) drive the 50 miles or so to visit him and get him to sign a contract for over a thousand pounds. His situation and vulnerability is clear.

Beware - this Company is cold calling and scaring vulnerable elderly people

This company cold-called my mother - she’s a vulnerable, disabled 86 year old - and asked if she wanted a free, Government backed energy assessment. She agreed, and a few minutes later “Dean” was on her doorstep. He did his free assessment and told her she would need to pay £1700 to get her central heating system serviced. He kindly reduced it to £1200 because my father is poorly. My mum was worried by being told her central heating was not working properly (it is) and that it was going to cost her money she can ill-afford.
This is unacceptable and is preying on elderly, vulnerable people. It is intimidating and alarming. Fortunately, she had his number on his quotation so I called him and said he has no authority to contact my parents again. He was keen to tell me this is a Government backed scheme, as though that adds authenticity to this scam, before hanging up on me.
Interestingly, this happened to my parents this time last year and I had the same conversation with a woman who went into the house and did a “free assessment”. They were told them not to contact my parents again.
I will be contacting Trading Standards to discuss this company’s methods on Monday.

In response to the reply this company made: Dean absolutely claimed this scheme is government backed. He said it to my mum and on the phone to me. Why would we say this if it wasn’t true? I have spoken to trading standards about this claim which adds validity to the their engineer’s assertion.
My vulnerable parents did not decide to accept the recommendations. My mum said she would speak to me first which is why I called him.
To tell an immobile 86 year old ( she was on her own when Dean called as my dad was at his day centre) that she needed to spend is £1700 is utterly disgraceful and manipulative. I emailed them my complaint and they have agreed never to contact my parents again.
Buyer beware!

Thank-you for your review, I would like to dispute some of the inflammatory allegations here, the company is not Government backed and none of our staff every claimed that. Many of our products/services are backed by the Energy Savings Trust, I believe this is what was said and there must have been some confusion.
The company does not prey on the elderly, we have a robust Vulnerability policy in place and this was followed. We have been in contact privately with the reviewer about this and the individual circumstances have been discussed and agreed, obliviously I can not discuss personal circumstances publicly which makes it difficult to publicly defend our actions here but the reviewer has accepted and agreed our explanation and response.
As you claim the assessment was indeed free, Dean did recommend some work which your parents decided to take up, he also left his number for them/you to contact him which he would not have done if it was a "scam" as claimed. The company has been trading for 12 years and has many thousands of happy customers.

Beware of this company

We had a cold call by this company and we saw Mathew on 18 April. He said our radiators weren’t running at full capacity and they could remove the sludge that was causing the problem. We agreed to have the work done the following day 19 April. The work was done in about two hours. Later on that day we had no hot water so I called them and the office said she would ask them to call. Heard nothing so called again to hear an answer phone message. The hot water came on later but we had no heating. We left 3 messages on 20 April - again the answerphone - not saying they were closed but all operators were busy so leave a detailed message which we did. The heating did come on that evening but now two radiators aren’t functioning properly so called them again on 21 April just after 9 am. This time I spoke to Kerry who said the engineer was coming in at 9.30 and would ask him to call. No call materialised so called again to have the answerphone message - again I left a message but it’s now 4 pm and still not heard from them. My advice is be aware- when he left Kelvin said any problems would be sorted immediately. The after sales service is non existent! All in all a completely unsatisfactory service and result.

Save your money, dont go with these cowboys!!

We signed up for the Gold Package with this company a year ago, to fit a filter to the central heating system, Raflek radiator foil on all radiators, radiator balancing and 5 years servicing.
They broke a radiator, the foil caused damp in two rooms so I had to remove all of them, and they left a leak in the kitchen radiator. When I called Kelvin to come and fix this, he told me 3 times he was coming and never showed up.
I have tried to get a refund on my money as I dont trust them to come and do the work. I have emailed them and the Director has said that they wont refund any money at all as they dont believe I reported any of the problems. It seems Kelvin didnt tell them that I had complained, surprise, surprise!
They took £1100 from us, and we have tried to ask nicely for some of this back, only to be told basically, they dont believe me. Oh, they are happy to cancel the 5 year contract but not to refund any money at all.
Please, save your money, do not go with these cowboys. They are preying on elderly and disabled people, taking their money and not giving a proper service. I will now be taking legal action to recoup some of my money as I tried to contact them and doing this civially, but they didnt want to know. Steer clear of them, they are cowboys!!

29.01.2026 - In response to your reply and accusation that my problems were not reported, please check out my Trustpilot review of a year ago. It was reported then.
I did phone to ask about my review as no-one from your company rang me to book anything in but I then looked at the reviews and the costs from other companies and found that the £1100 I paid was way over the top for that work that was done.

It appears to be a pattern that you try and discredit customers that genuinely complain. I am just letting other customers know what to expect when they deal with your company.

There are two sides to every story and we believe that this lady changed her mind over a year after we completed the work for her. Initially she called us early this year to book in her yearly filter clean that is included in our Gold package as standard. A week later she phoned to say that actually she had changed her mind and wanted her money back.
In a later email she claims that the work we had done a year before was inadequate and that she did not want us back in her house for the filter clean. In this Email she admits that she did not report any of this to the company at the time, as such we have no way of verifying her claims. The yearly filter clean (for 5 years) is an added extra to our Gold package which we completed over a year ago to the ladies satisfaction (as far as we are aware). She can of course choose not to allow us to uphold our commitment to clean the filter but we can not offer a refund on reports of substandard work that we receive over a year late.
We would also wonder, if her accusations were true, why she would call us to book in for her filter clean in the first instance if she genuinely believes we are "cowboys"
The accusation that we pray on the elderly and disabled is categorically untrue and we look forward to proving this as libelous should she decide to proceed with legal action.

Avoid - poor work and do not deliver what they promise

We paid for this company's 'gold package' in the late summer of 2023. The engineer who fitted the filter and flushed the system needed three attempts to fit it without it leaking and he left us without any heating in our downstairs rooms as he failed to bleed & balance the radiators properly. After multiple calls to the office we finally got this sorted over a month later. I also later found that he had somehow broken the valve on the bathroom radiator which I can now no longer bleed so we needed a new radiator. The package was also supposed to include an annual service of the filter. To date (December 2025) we have heard nothing more from them. The servicing has not taken place despite phone calls to their office. Given the poor initial work and difficulties in getting them to rectify their mistakes, I would be reluctant to let them near the system again espcially during the winter when we need the heating. My advise would be to avoid this company!

I am leaving this review to warn people…

I am leaving this review to warn people about using this company.
The pattern of events in 1 star reviews has been repeated in my experience.
My 89 year old dad was cold called and agreed to pay £1000 for the flush service offered. When the engineer called he couldn't complete the full service due to an issue with the existing pipework.
There was also an issue with 1 radiator now not working in a bedroom.
My dad asked me to call up the company and find out what was going on because he was getting no reply back after leaving answer machine messages.
I rang up got straight though and spoke to Kelly who said she would get the engineer to call back the next day 16th December and so would get a manager to ring me with regards to a potential refund for the work they couldn't completed to fit a filter. The next day no one called me back and no engineer attended my dad's house in Workington.
I then got a mobile number from their website and spoke to Jonathan Clarke who apologised and said would look into this and call me back within an hour. He didn't call back. The engineer Kelvin then did ring me back on 18th December saying he would call back and fix the radiator that wasn't working on Friday 19th. He didn't call my dad back as promised and didn't turn up on the 19th. I rang him again and was assured he would call the next morning the 20th December.
My dad was up early and waiting for the visit. No show again. Then by text as my calls weren't been answered he said he had called and banged on the door and rang but could get in and then had to leave to go to other jobs.
This was un true and I believe that he has told lies claiming he tried to get entry.
Since then I have left messages asking for a call back and been ignored.
The purpose of this review is to get the radiator fixed and to have a sensible conversation about the work carried out and get a refund if one is due.
The lack of response and broken promises to ring me back is very poor and gives the impression that once the money has been paid they do not care about rectifying any issues.
I am willing to update this review if the issues I have identified are resolved.
