What I most appreciated about UKPI's reply to my inquiry for a quote was:
- the speed of their response
- the clear pricing
- the 'no nonsense' attitude
I contacted half a dozen investigators for quotes. Nearly all of them wanted to get me on the phone so they could explain how 'difficult' the job would be, to justify a huge cost.
Not Tim. He kept it simple. If you want this service its £x. For that, it's £x....
After I instructed UKPI to proceed, I was notified immediately that my case had started and given an ETA for resolution.
3 days later my family's biggest mystery was solved!
I will definitely be using their services again.
I can't recommend UKPI enough.

I would use this service again. While I cannot vouch for its reliability (I would suggest looking into accreditation etc.) it was vastly (almost a tenth) cheaper than the quote from one rival, and communication was great.

UKPI person trace
My amended review date is March 4 2024. I am amending the positive review that I submitted below (see review in parentheses), because since January 12 2024 when I submitted it, UKPI have disappointed. On February 29 2024, I requested a new person trace, following the same criteria as my first request for a person trace, for which I had been charged £44.25. However, this time I was quoted £120, an almost triple hike in rate in a six week period. Upon inquiry, I was told that I had been undercharged (beyond belief for a company with a long track record, I felt), and they refused to budge. After a lengthy search and comparison of other agencies, I settled on Find UK People. They provided an excellent service at the competitive rate of £59.99 for a Premium trace. (Furthermore, Find UK People secured, in writing, that should I request a similar service in the fiscal year ending April 2025, I would be charged the same rate.) Therefore, I warn clients to exercise caution when dealing with UKPI.
My original review on January 12 2024:
(UKPI conducted a person trace I had requested in an exemplary manner and speed and with great integrity. The time it took from the initial contact until the delivery of the report was under 24 hours. I strongly recommend their services.)
