My experience with United British…
My experience with United British Caravans Ltd in Newcastle upon Tyne was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped into their showroom, I was greeted warmly by the team, who made me feel right at home without the typical pushy sales atmosphere. I’ve had interactions with many dealerships over the years, but none have matched the genuine courtesy and professionalism demonstrated here.
One standout aspect of my experience was the level of aftercare provided. After purchasing our caravan, we encountered a minor issue with one of the appliances. When I called for assistance, the service team responded immediately and booked us in at a convenient time. True to their word, the issue was resolved efficiently and with a level of detail that assured me customer satisfaction was their priority. They even took the time to explain the maintenance process, ensuring I felt confident about future upkeep.
Moreover, every member of staff I encountered was knowledgeable and attentive. I recall speaking with a Lady named Val, who went above and beyond to ensure all my questions were answered, from warranty details to accessory compatibility. He was patient, genuinely interested in helping me make the best decision for my needs, and not just focused on making a sale. It’s rare to find a team where every person, from the reception to service, exudes politeness and a willingness to help
I’ve visited a few caravan dealers over the years, and what truly sets United British Caravans apart is this commitment to ensuring the customer feels valued both during and after the sale. If you’re seeking a reliable company with a strong focus on customer care, I can wholeheartedly recommend them. Their professionalism, combined with the warmth and knowledge of their staff, makes for a standout experience.

Sunncamp super epic 600
Bought a Sunncamp super epic 600 tent in March 23 first time camping and caught in a little storm in August one of the poles snapped on the last night fortunately. Polea aren't covered by warranty but as I was in the shop for another reason and telling my story a gentleman by the name of Ben was listening and came back with a replacement pole and a spare free of charge (hope he did not get into trouble for this). Tried camping again this year in August went to Cornwall and I am very unlucky got hit by gusts of wind in excess of 60mph and most of the poles snapped went to a local shop and bought some replacements so could continue the holiday, was windy every night and became a bit like carry on camping as I would get up each morning and replace a pole or two sleep that night and replace in the morning as they would snap again, was on a open site with no shelter. When we got home I emailed Sunncamp regarding this as I believe it is more of a design fault with this model no reply of course, went back to United British Caravens for some other items and was telling them about the holiday a woman I think I name was Val offered to email on my behalf but I said I think it would be a waste of time, again they replaced all the poles free of charge which they did not have to do. Brilliant customer service will use again when in the market for a new tent or even if upgrade to a caravan.

This woman gave me the keys for my motorhome and as I turned she told me don’t you FU..ING come back again, I didn’t buy the vehicle from them but they did agree to repair through the warranty company
Had a problem with my motorhome, on 2 occasions they said the issue was fixed but wasn’t. On the third occasion having had it for 6 weeks I rang them to ask for an update to be told they couldn’t repair it. On collection i was confronted by a very rude assistant who told me to take my motorhome away and don’t come back. Bad customer service, and zero knowledge on repairs, don’t go here.

The worst company we have ever dealt with
The review date doesn't reflect the problems that we have had in the 4+ years since we bought a brand new caravan from UBC.
We have had failure after failure. They seem unable to source parts and we have been waiting for some things for months.
The service manager has been absent sick for many, many months.
The new service manager, Steve, was initially very sympathetic to our problems and was going to put everything right. Eventually he stopped ringing us back as promised. He has now left.
Another new member of the service team, who as very good and the most professional member of staff we have encountered, Leroy, has now left.
We have had things ruined by water ingress and we're still waiting for replacements 18 months later.
The van has spent, in total, some 9 months of the 4 years at UBC, during which we have paid for hotel holidays.
We have previously been advised BY THE SERVICE STAFF to trade it in for a different van, thereby passing on the problems to someone else!
We took in the caravan for its annual service and to have a couple of other outstanding matters on 24th July - the shower door was dropping and the fridge light unit needed to be replaced. The door had supposedly been fixed twice and the fridge light has been on order for months.
We were assured that everything was dealt with and on 10th September arranged to collect it 2 weeks later on 24th. When we arrived, we were not expected. While we waited, the dropping shower door was temporarily repaired by wedging a piece of wood under it until it could be done properly after our trip.
We had to wait until a final damp check was done and were told that there was further water ingress under the bed, giving a damp reading of 66, and the van would have to go back again after our holiday for repair (under warranty).
I rang today to book it in to be told:
1. There is no-one working there now that can carry out the repair, and
2. There is no record of the reading of 66. We have to make yet another 50-mile round trip just to have it tested. But it will have to go back yet again to be fixed.
The customer service is non-existent and, yet again, we are wishing that we had never bought a caravan from UBC.
The tone of the responses to the negative reviews says it all.
No doubt this will receive the same treatment.

Issues from day one
We Bought a new caravan and had issues from day one , they fitted an addition motor mover but had the incorrect spacing so when we took it home after collection we struggled to put it on the drive. Minor warranty works noted and still waiting after almost four months for them to be rectified. My biggest annoyance was the underfloor heating not working correctly so they said bring it in and they’d sort it. We told them we’d booked a holiday and were going away the following week, they said no problem, it’s a quick fix . 13 days later, one Holliday lost , a damaged panel and still not working correctly with no apologies or even contact from the manager ( Alex) I decided to take it to the professionals who took less than four hours to rectify and said the dealer had in fact made matters worse. Steer well clear of these bunch of muppets , they have no clue and definitely no customer service

Ignores the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Customers rights dont exist in this place
We purchased a tent from Awnings Direct (United British Caravans). It was a tent I had been after for a while but was hard to find somewhere that stocked it (I think Outwell might of discontinued it).
When we took it camping the day after purchasing it, we found it leaked. I got it dried out, packed it away and drove a 200 mile round trip to swap it for our old tent just so we could continue our camping trip (luck I still had our other tent, or the kids camping trip would of been ruined). After packing it away I picked it up via the shoulder strap and the bag just ripped (this alone is grounds for return without the leaking tent)
When we returned from our trip, I returned the tent to the shop (10 days after purchase) for a refund, I was told the manager was not in and would have to go back the next day as they didn't have the authority to deal with refunds, which I did.
The manager told me they would need to do a soak test to confirm that I am not a liar, and tried to tell me the tent needed to be weathered as they don't come fully waterproof where they are stitched together, (this is not what Outwell advise at all, this is a polyethene tent that comes watertight right out of the box, not a polycotton tent) and to give him 48 hours to test it.
I phoned 2 days later, to be told it had not been tested and would take a week, I told him I wanted to come and watch it been tested as I didn't trust that they wouldn't just spray some sealant on it, say it was fine, for it just to leak again in a year when I am no longer able to get a refund. He told me it didn't matter either way, as I had the tent for over 7 days so I wasn't entitled to a refund at all, it would be repaired or replaced.
I advised him of the consumer Rights Act 2015, (which he said he knows very well) which states if a product is found to have a fault in under 30 days I have the right to a "short term refusal" due to it not being of satisfactory quality and the retailer MUST give a 100% refund (they can offer a repair or replacement but this can be can refused as long as it is under 30 days of receipt), he told me I am wrong, I told him to just google it before he gets the company in trouble, I literally had the legal information in front of me, citizens advice also confirm this is the case.
I was advised by citizens advice to send them an letter (which they sent me) via email with delivery and read receipts informing them of my rights and what I want. so far I have had no reply.
The next step will be court (I am sure he thought I was bluffing when I told him that's what I would do) and reporting to trading standards etc.
All he had to do was refund me for the faulty tent, send the tend back to his supplier as faulty and everyone is happy.
I would say they are probable a good company if NOTHING goes wrong, but when it does go wrong expect to fight tooth and nail for your basic rights, its safe to just shop else where as once they have your money, they do whatever they can to keep it and don't care about the customers or the law that is there to protect them
What's worse for them is we were looking at buying a camper van early next year, obviously I dodged a bullet as I now know where I am not buying one from.
I think 0 star would of been generous but 1 is the lowest I can give
Response to their reply:
I own a large tent which is to big for smaller trips when some of our children don't come or use a smaller tent of their own, hence needing a slightly smaller one. It leaked so was returned, I then purchased another from else where, which I can happily prove. You said I "wouldn't come to witness the water test" YOU LIER! I have emails proving I asked to be there and you tested without me and wouldn't redo the test with me there. Treat customers better you absolute w....r ! as for "never darken our doors again" I wouldn't return if I was paid, I would rather camp out in a cardboard box during a storm than buy another tent from you!
You are trying to imply that I was using you as a free tent hire service by purchasing a tent, having our holiday then pretend the tent is faulty for a full refund. Why would I do that when I already own tents (one was to big and one was to small, I needed something in the middle for when the kids don't come etc) This ruined our holiday, I had to drive home to get the larger tent just to continue the holiday. If I was trying to do as you suggested, do you not think I would of just used a company that has a 100% no worries refund policy, would be a bit of a risk not to if that's what I was up to.
Read all the Negative reviews, then read the responses, it seems like its never this company's fault and they do absolute nothing wrong EVER! It is always the customer lying, cheating and stealing.
They are either delusional or just a bunch of PR**Ks
