Possibly the best customer service I’ve ever had at Up & Running Darlington branch. Returning runner after 20 years out the game, had gait analysis done, talked through shoe options, tried on a number that were recommended and walked away with the most comfortable pair of shoes I’ve ever owned. Nothing was too much for the staff. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

First time in this Bristol shop and was very impressed. Yvette could not have been more helpful. Very knowledgeable, eager to please and thorough. I tried on at least 8 pairs of running shoes in the hour I was in the shop and I love the ones I eventually selected. Highly recommend this shop.

I had been coming to SRG run club for a few months and have always found it to be a really nice and friendly group to run with. So when it came to finding my Father some new running shoes I brought him to the shop where Dan the manager listened to my dad's concerns/ailments with his foot injuries. He made some helpful suggestions and gave my dad the time to talk through everything and ask questions. He spent time with him and then brought an array of shoes out for him to try and got him running on the treadmill to try them out. Dad found a great pair of Altras but was worried incase his podiatrist didn't agree with him buying them so Dan was kind enough to put a pair away for him so he could chat to her and come back. Today we returned and he got his new runners, and came away very happy! Jasmine was there to help him today and was also really helpful and friendly, not rushing my dad at all.

I recently visited the Darlington store and was served by Jasmine, who was very friendly and approachable. I had a gait analysis to ensure I bought the correct shoe, and she took into account all of my needs, and spent a lot of time explaining the benefits of each shoe and how they would suit my needs. All of the staff were super friendly and I will definitely return to the store!

I went to the Birmingham (UK) store for information on running shoes as I’m looking to start running. Sallyann was very helpful and informative. She helped me better understand my running gait and advised me on the shoes that would best support me. It was a great experience.

Went for a Gait analysis to get the right shoes for me. Was helped by Sallyann. She was amazing really knowledgeable and super helpful.

Having just been volunteered to run a charity half marathon I wanted advice on running shoes. From the first interaction with Tom at the BARNET store it was obvious he was passionate on the subject but importantly he had the knowledge I was seeking. The selection process was relaxed with multiple shoe options based on the results of them checking how I planted my feet/run. No pressure to buy, no up- selling just great advice that ended with my perfect purchase.

What a joke, no wonder local shoe shops are disappearing. I traveled a long way to this store to get advice and buy a pair of trail running shoes, I am new to trail running and expected a little advice, when I asked which shoes she suggest her answer, "personal preference". The trail shoes price run from £230 to £130 I am no expert but I assume all trail running shoes are not made equal and are used for different surfaces and distances etc.... I have had issue with blisters from a pair of road shoes and wore them to the store to get advice as make sure the new trail shoes do not so the same. When I asked how to make sure the new shoes (£140) don't give blisters and become useless her professional response was "you have run in them". This shop is expensive compared to online example I can get Men's GEL-Trabuco Off-Road Trail Running Shoes from sportsdirect for £99 vs there price £140. I was willing to pay the difference for peace of mind that I have the best trail running shoe for me as per expert advice. Very disappointing.

I took my granddaughter to the Darlington shop for her first pair of proper running trainers, Simon took time with her to try different ones to ensure she left with the correct pair. She has completed a couch to 5k course, is progressing towards the 10k distance and still loves her comfortable trainers. Thank you Simon.

Absolutely love this place. I'm a casual but regular runner and come over a year to get a new pair of running shoes. They're always so helpful, the free gait analysis is handy and they have a decent but not unmanageable range of quality running shoes. Thomas took care of me this time and was very patient in letting me try a whole bunch of suitable shoes until I found the right pair. Never felt pressure to buy anything or get up-sold. You pay a bit more than buying online but totally worth it for the service and ability to try loads of pairs.

I visited on 20/06/26 and was a bit unsure of what shoe to go for as it has been a while since I’ve bought any / trained properly. Emma was very helpful in assessing my gait and recommending the support I needed and providing me shoes to try out. Quick, polite and knowledgeable service - will return for any future needs!
