Irelands leading internet service?
An absolute joke of a provider. Ordered the loaded tv and 1Gb fibre package and after five 45 minute calls to "tech support" it only took nearly 6 weeks for them to come out to install it. They didn't bring the crap little tv box it comes with either. They forgot that, not that it matters the thing is useless. Super slow and all recordings go to the cloud so can't even record RTE or BBC over copyright.
As for the internet?
1Gb Fibre Speeds me hole.
I was using my 4g hotspot while waiting for them over the last few weeks and now that I have "1GB fibre" my internets never been so slow.
Nearly 60 seconds to load a google search. Feel like im back in the early 00's on this.
What a joke, you're better off on your phone hotspot.
-5 stars.
If I could leave a lower rating than 1…
If I could leave a lower rating than 1 then I would. I switched from a Virgin business line to a residential line 2 months ago. Router arrived, technician arrived. Everything fine until the following day an engineer called to say the tech had installed the cable thru the Eir chamber and it had to be removed and re routed.
They found the virgin duct at corner of my living room behind a fitted unit.
This was left dismantled until the fibre tech returned to sort it 3 WEEKS later
Meanwhile an engineer had accidentally cut the wires to my security camera. Which he eventually managed to fix.
Now my fibre is pathetic and the Tech told me yesterday that I need pods to boost the wifi around my 3 bedroom semi that had ZERO problems until Birgin installed this appalling system. I have written 2 complaints, sent pictures of the mess. Only response I got was a text to say the update to your complaint can be viewed on my app.
Ive been with Birgin gor years but once Christmas is over Im getting away from them permanently.
Their customer service is non existant.
Furious customer
great experience
switched from eir and the process was very smooth and straightforward. my wifi speeds are now more than double what i was getting before. very impressed with how responsive they are online via their website and also via twitter.
Really poor customer service
Was told Friday for installation, no show. Four calls made during day to establish time, got hung up on many times was waiting over 30 minutes at a time. Asked for manager none available. What an unprofessional company to deal with.
Shocking treatment of an existing customer for 20 years
Really disappointed I have to write this review but I'm disgusted over the treatment as an existing customer for nearly 20 years (through UPC / NTL etc) Firstly can I just say this review is not about the quality of the Virgin service but rather their appalling customer service and policies adopted through their outsourcing agreement. Before I give the bad parts a big call out to the agent who put my house move order through last week as was genuinely one of the best agents I've dealt with. Now the bad stuff....after the stress of a house move with 2 kids and a dog, I plugged my Virgin router into the Virgin box only to have no service. I called and waited 30 minutes (shocking) and was told they would have agent out the next day to check the fault. I then got a text to say an engineer would be out on 20th December (3 weeks away at the time of the call). Another 30 minutes wait to call back and complain only to be basically stone walled by an agent to say tough, that everything goes outsourced to Actavo and its just a ticketing system. When I explained that I was them for over 19 years, never switched and just wanted the fault sorted there was absolutely no care from the agent. No effort to try and escalate, no empathy nothing. Similar to the agent on their X account in that whilst she was at least empathetic was basically "computer says no". I rang another provider Monday and had broadband installed today. They were so empathetic of the situation and raised an emergency install to get me sorted. I never wanted to switch I could have easily cancelled my service but I really wanted to keep it yet they have such awful customer service setup that makes you queue 30 minutes to speak to someone and then no recognition or flexibility to triage situations.

I was treated horrendously bad by Virgin Media. Customer Service promised me they had cancelled my account and with SIRO engineering service. They never did and this cause me to be without Wi-Fi for three months as I could not register with another company. Pure cowboy service!

trying contact them through website ...better chance contacting Elvis ......what a complete joke of a 'service '
Had a very bad experience with virgin…
Had a very bad experience with virgin media network. Customer service was very bad. The representative was downright rude.I ported out of the network 4 months ago.And they sent me notice saying I defaulted. While explaining the situation to the customer care representative, he was very aggressive and rude.
Don't use Virgin Media
Don't use Virgin Media! Booked to switch to Virgin Media Broadband, Hub arrived by post, did not work when connected, called next day, waited 20 mins. then transferred, waited 1 hr & 20 mins in total, to be told the Hub needed to be activated to work! They had to refer the issue to someone else to activate it, but could not confirm when it would be working. They could not give me an email address to raise my concerns. Customer Service was very poor.
For the first time Virgin broadband…
For the first time Virgin broadband (Full fibre) was available on my road so ordered through local store - 2 no show appointments later I have given up. If that's how they treat new customers you would wonder how do they treat their existing customers
Terrible
I called and the waiting time for chatting with somebody is 60 min. A recorded voice says: go to the website to do the changes you want to do. I went, did the broadband upgraded but the basket is always empty. It doesn't work. Terrible!
Truly terrible
They appear indifferent to their existing customers. Contacting support means enduring a frustrating one-hour waiting queue, only to be randomly disconnected before connecting with a representative. What was once a decent service provider now seems focused on exploiting existing customers, accompanied by a noticeable decline in customer service. It's truly disheartening.

Am on hold for over 30min now to speak to customer service, still no answer
Double charging on bill one month…
Double charging on bill one month before Christmas,it was flagged on their end by a phonecall over a week before the bill was due from me and when the due bill arrived they still took the money, not caring when we rang back all we were told was ahh but at least you won't have a bill at Christmas,, absolutely disgraceful contact from customer support with no apology or resolution to the issue at hand,,personally I feel like this is robbery to be able to go into your bank account and take what they want,,do not ever set up a direct debit with them,in fact go to eir or sky, these are the companies we are suppose to trust with our banking details ,,overpriced Internet, avoid
Absolute incompetent degenerates
Absolute incompetent degenerates, not 1 person has a clue what is going on. Have had no tv for last 2 and a half weeks. Rang every day and no solutions. Worst company I have ever dealt with. Now the broadband is down and nobody to contact because their all gone home 🤷🏼♂️
I am with this company over ten years,I…
I am with this company over ten years,I upgraded to fibre over three weeks ago,got a text to say engineer will be out on a tuesday between 12 and 15.59,never turned up,rang customer service given another date, the same thing happens again,I ring again to told they will give me another date for engineer to call out. This company should be reported to the fraud dept in the Garda, they are taking monies and not providing a service.
Go far away from V Media
I recommend training your consultants because the level of customer service is a joke.unfortunately the customer service is very poor! nothing but lies!
Contempt for customers
Waiting over a half an hour to speak to a representative as my current contract ended and no contact. Shows utter contempt for their customers. (See my review of the 18th August 2022), Nothing changes. Virgin Media no longer have a customer loyalty team which really doesn't surprise me as loyalty to its customers is certainly not on their agenda.
Change of management required
Sent out wrong team twice for set up and then didn't bother showing up on a 3rd day. Wasted hours on the phone. Told on about 12 occasions we'd be called back by various team members. Never happened! Their processes are so bad. Can only blame poor higher and middle level mamagement for the operational issues. Yeah, so 1 star max. Will be with Sky next year when the connection is sorted.
On hold for 59 minutes and 30 seconds…
On hold for 59 minutes and 30 seconds (with that insane "music") before I gave up. Appalling customer service.
