still pissedoff more

this is where i have to say that theses guys suck. they didnt ship because of a fault of their own, told me to cancel and reorder, now they took 25% because i cancelled an order that they never even picked from inventory or anything but charge my card. scammers, crooks, and if i was closer to them i would definitely need money to get bailed out. after over a dozen calls to today alone, voicemails, emails and still no real service my PTSD & anxiety is kicking up hard over here.

how are they in business

ordered an engine for 7300.00 and called for tracking 7 days later and was told that my order was a fraudulent order, but they have taken all the funds for engine, given a legitimate business address, and order confirmation via phone call day of purchase. this is BS and now if i order another engine elsewhere thats over 14000 in limbo.

DO NOT USE USED.REMANNS

Purchased a replacement 2011 Subaru Forester engine in early October. Arrived 10/15/20, told by mechanic it was unusable on 10/17/20. Called in a warranty replacement same day. Got nothing. Called 11/16/20 and told the replacement engine had been ordered in October but, for some reason, was still on the shipping dock of the supplier. No contact, no emails, no returned phone calls. When I call, I am sent to voicemail. When I do talk to a human, I am transferred to someone else and am cut off. I do not believe I'll ever get an engine from this company.

My story is just the same as the other…

My story is just the same as the other negative reviews. My first engine didn't even make it pass the mechanic's test drive for 1 mile. The second engine has now failed and is a total loss, with low compression on 3 of 4 cylinders.

Believe me the have no warranty department that returns calls or messages or emails. This company is hopeless!

Horrible customer service, Two Defective Engines

We purchased a replacement engine for our 2009 Jeep Wrangler. The engine arrived later than promised. Upon installment, it had bad/no rings on 2 cylinders and blew oil through the exhaust. Got w/warranty company, received wrong engine. Got back with them, received another defective engine! All of this as we are going through 2 direct hit hurricanes in Louisiana. Finally had to just go buy a new vehicle. Sorry Company. Do not do business with them!

Completely misleading scam artists

Completely misleading scam artists. Be warned.

I inquired about a remanufactured motor for a Miata, directs me to a 1993 used motor with 5yr warranty at 93k miles. I had en event making it urgent and seemed a smart option with the warranty. The salesperson told me 7 to 10 days to receive it and that they would offer compression #s when tested. It shipped on the 15th day. Received on the 18th day and no compression #s ever sent.

It gets worse.
The described condition of the engine I was to receive in their words was:
- Completely Steam cleaned
- Compression tested
- Oil pressure tested
- Compression leak down tested

What I received was a 1991 motor, with damage, covered in dirt and oil with every hose and harness cut without regard for the installer. The motor had excessive oil all over it from leaking valve cover gasket, head gasket, oil pump, rear main and front crank seals. The engine had not only never been cleaned, but also not tested at all. Basically cut out of a junkyard, tied to a pallet and shipped.

I immediately tried to contact the warranty department, no answer, no callback. Emailed them, no response. Filed a claim on their site, no response. Ultimately left with no choice but to dispute the charge on my card. The 2nd party company, SW engines, sent me a BL for returning the engine, but no comments on replacement, or refund. I sit here with an engine about to get returned with no idea if my money will be returned. Hence the disputed charge.

This is a hack organization of cons using false testimonials and promises on a glossy web page to lure you in and leave you high and dry.

Do not, for any reason, convince yourself to give them a chance. You, as I have, will come to regret it and have your every sense of business decency violated.

Just check the better biz bureau for the solid F rating.

As mentioned, be warned.

Remanns.com Major scam artists !!!

this company seeks any loophole to screw you out of the so called warranty, which used to be a si called 5 year warranty, (no fault warrantee) , and after people are letting the rest of the world know they scam people on their warranty, now they've tried changing their warranty to a all new 7 year warranty. I changed my oil every 5000 miles, kept my own written record of it, sent in the order invoice, mechanic bill of install, but yet they claim i voided my warranty not getting it changed by a shop, and using 10W-30 weight instead of 5W-30. I switched to barely thicker oil once the lifter started pecking only within 15,000 miles. DO NOT TRUST REMANNS.COM, OR THEIR FALSE WARRAANTY, BE IT 5 YEARS OR 7, THEY ARE SOME LYING SOBS !!!!

What a bad company

What a bad company! Do not buy anything from these people! Bought a remanufactured motor from them and came in a timely fashion. That part was good. What came next was not. The motor had a problem when it arrived and once installed leaked oil all over! Took it back to the shop that I had put it in and they determined a faulty part in the motor. Called remanns, called again, and again and again but never got an answer. So I did what I had to do as my truck was sitting at their shop an extra 2 weeks, I paid to have the shop fix the problem. 600 dollars later it is fine. Once I finally got ahold of remanns they informed me they would have covered the problem but since it has already been fixed it is not their responsibility.... dishonest, disrespectful and outright scam! Look at all the other reviews... do you see one good one... didn’t think so. I just wish I could have looked before buying a motor from them. If I could give a negative star I would.

60,000 miles and the engine has low compression on 2 valves. The person who called to work out the warranty plan with us just called us a DIY and said you pay for the new engine, send the old one back and if we think you deserve it, we will reimburse you.

Bad Business practice. Now I'm scrambling for answers. SCUM BAGS...

Remans used engines was my worst nightmare

Remans used engines was my worst experience, they are a “little” nice while you are buying, but after…… they are really bad and nasty for the warranty, they do not care at all, I called them so many times and left messages, I talked to the manager and other guy and both hanged up on me. Disaster!!! Think 1000000 times before buying in Remans

Run!!!! Do not trust this company!! A researched understanding of Remann's practices

Remanns engines is simply a disguised subsidiary of Southwest Engines, quality used Engines & Transmissions, engine Shopper LLC, and many many other aliases. After doing a decent amount of research I was able to find solid evidence linking remanns to various other company aliases that have been accused of extremely unethical unprofessional behavior, and even being sued by jurisdictions they operate in. They are able to continue doing business by operating in legal gray areas and deceiving customers into wasting money on very very cheaply remanufactured engines and garbage used engines. They have no quality control or oversight to ensure their products will have any longevity. From my assessment this company has the potential to run a benevolent business but over the last few decades has made the choice to deceive customers and elude them when any issues arise, which is inevitable once you understand their business model. I was tricked initially by the appearance of their website and deception of a 7 year warranty, which is way too good to be true. When I decided I would cancel my order they began ignoring my phone calls and purposely cutting me off of their automated line when I would call. I was luckily able to alert my bank of fraudulent charges before remanns could steal my money and send me a garbage engine. Do your homework there are other companies that CAN be trusted and aim for customer satisfaction. Overall remanufactured engine reviews possess the unfortunate nature of a selection bias, meaning the most displeased customers are most likely to review. Remanns AKA Southwest Engines does not have any shred of positive review. I could not find evidence of a single pleased customer in decades of operation. If you are reading this please take my advice and spend a few extra hours researching reputable sources for your remanufactured engine and don't allow this company to continue unethical practices by giving them your money. By allowing this company to financially struggle you are supporting and saving a great Industry.

Beware!!! Scam Artists!!!

Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT do business with this company. I paid $10,900 for a used motor that was NEVER received. I emailed them twice for an update, and left multiple phone messages. I finally had to go through the sales department to find out information. The first person I spoke to was named Sam, he was unprofessional to say the least. He threatened to cancel my order and immediately sent me to customer service. I was then patched thru to someone named Scott who became agitated when I told him I was alerting my credit card of fraud. He called me a "f---king b!tch" and hung up the phone on me. I had to file a fraud report. They are scam.

Why are they still allowed to operate

Why are they still allowed to operate? These are rude scam artist. John, the manager will actually laugh at you or hang up on you. They charge a 25% restocking fee for a motor they do not have in stock. Every dog has it's day and they will reap what they have sown.

I received an engine which had been…

I received an engine which had been strapped to a pallet resting entirely on the oil pad. Predictably, this completely trashed the oil pan and once crushed, the engine was free to move. When I called them to let them know that their packaging should probably be re-thought, the customer service guy claimed "it wasn't covered". I wasn't asking for it to be covered, just to have them not ship it this way to the next guy, but the attitude I got makes me believe that the answer to everything is going to be "that's not covered". There are others shipping engine replacements. I'd suggest going elsewhere.

I purchased an engine two years ago

I purchased an engine two years ago. it had some issues but I learned to live with it. Right at the two years mark it failed and based on the company' advertising I called for warranty service. there is not answer from the warranty department and the on-line warranty form does not work either. Please beware of their false advertising. This company is not real, it is a scam. stay away from it.
I would be happy to give them a -10 but the systems only goes to1.

STAY WAY FROM THIS COMPANY

Crappy

God. It was awful. We bought an engine in January of 2019. Thinking oh, it's ok, because they have a warranty that if anything happens they will replace and pay for labor. Cool. Well...less than 3 weeks after install we notice the engine is just eating oil. Like a quart+ every week. So my husband gives a call to Remanns. They tell him to put a ticket in, but they will ca him. He does. No response. He emails. No response. He calls. No response. No one is telling him what is going on. Talks to some dude bro in sales and that guy gets lippy with my husband about, "not his job" and needs to contact warranty. My husband is like, "NO ONE SAID THAT!!!" So husband calls warranty and they are all like oh yeah, policy updated and we only pay $50 bucks an hour....like I'm sorry what?!?!? Who has a mechanic that works for that little???? So my husband is like I bought in January, and warranty guy is like sorry. To bad. But we can't even help you because we need to know that's it's "really" leaking oil. A shop can tell you that. So my husband takes it to a local guy who does this sort of thing, who said he works with warranty companies. They check the engine, lo and behold! sh**ty engine, eating oil! So they call the warranty guy and he says, 1. Can you do it for less? Like less what dude? Less money, no. We charge $100 an hour and the warranty guy says no, less time? Mechanic is done. You want me to "rush" this so you don't pay as much and you still want to pay crappy? Nope. No thank you. The time's the time. Warranty guy says we'll customer (me and my husband) will have to pay the difference...$50 an hour. We are so mad!!! Like Remanns sells crappy engines. Changes their warranty policy and then expects us to just pay the difference. And we can't even get old engine back because they probably "remanufactured" that one and sold it to some unsuspected Scion owner. So....if you are looking for a Scion tc engine, not from here my friend. They took ours (which was leaking oil from the oil rings and it's only a matter of time before it blows the gasket). Just don't get an engine from here. We're putting out complaint in with the Better Business Bureau.

Horrible Experience with This Company

I purchased an engine from this company over two weeks ago. This has been an ordel, as the engine was installed by my mechanic, yet has an internal sensor error that needs attention form the engine company. The customer service has been poor. I have had several conversations with Joe in their parts department, and he has no answers for me and major attitude. Joe has refused to let me speak to his supervisor so that I can get real help in resolving this issue. The other company that provided the engine has been non-responsive in getting back to my mechanic for the next steps, resulting in my being without my vehicle for over two weeks (and counting).

The worst company ever

The worst company ever. No one EVER answers the phone, unless in sales and as soon as you tell them what you need, or before ( cuz its not a sale) and you want to talk to a live person, they transfer you. If you do get a message machine- no one calls back. Their engines are crap.
And they dont want to cover anything. Dont believe the 5 year, unlimited milage no fault guarentee. Its BS.

This company is a joke. I've tried contacting them several times and nothing. They owe me $425 for a core charge. I've opened 3 tickets and no reply. I'm about to dispute the charge and let them take me to court

Please research this company before…

Please research this company before purchasing. I was foolish and did not fully research. They are associated with Southwest engines, there is a serious question about whether or not they are actually based in Wisconsin. A further search shows criminal charges against the company in Wisconsin.
I purchased from Remanns, was invoiced by Southwest engines, and a used engine was shipped from a junkyard in Oregon. I had cancelled within 11 hours of placing the order, they shipped the engine anyway, and in spite of my immediate report to my bank, the cancellation and restocking fee is structured such that my bank was unable to return 25% of the purchase price per Visa's policies. My only remedy would be to file a case in small claims court. Further , the woman from Southwest Engines was Less than helpful and borderline rude as I tried to work with them on a cancellation. Please Do Not make the same mistake that I did.
