Mario told me for three weeks I would qualify for a loan. Firstly, the interest rate he gave me was 6.5 at the highest-then when it went on paper it was 7.3. Almost $20,000 difference with a 30 year loan.
Then he continued to keep me confused and not answer calls and emails from the real estate agent, or the home insurance company. The person doing the appraisal also had trouble communicating.
I have paperwork saying I was approved for a loan and closing on the first, but now ten days before closing, he leaves me a voicemail saying he will not be able to cover me and has to cancel the loan. There is so much fishiness to this company-idk how they got the reviews they have but I will be sharing everywhere I can.

This has been the worst finance company I’ve ever dealt with. Not only were they over a week late on the financing that was promised to close on a house, but the person I was dealing with would not answer the phone or return my calls. Communication was horrible, and I was lied to multiple times.

At the last minute, they changed the numbers around, trying to charge me significantly more in points and fees than what had been agreed to. They also promised to cover additional costs that came up because of their delays, but they never did.

Ultimately, I had to cancel the loan and go with another lender, which caused even more delay and stress. In my experience, Veterans First Mortgage was dishonest, unreliable, and unprofessional. I would not recommend this company under any circumstances.

The personalized service Rula provided! She maintained direct contact (text/phone/email) through out the entire process! With less than two weeks from the time I reached out to Rula the loan was closed! I had an out of country trip scheduled to Tokyo for 7 September, returning 23 September, with her help all paperwork was done and loan closed on 5 September, 9 working days from the time we started the process. Absolutely an amazing job—Thank you!!

I had the pleasure of working with Savi Paul and Tara Metcalf. They were very knowledgeable and professional in helping my wife and I on the process for buying a house. I would recommend them both to anyone I know looking to purchase a house. Those two ROCK in the things they do. So I want to say thank you both on a job well done!

Alisha was excellent from start to finish! We originally were supposed to move to a different state and she prepared everything for buy in the state we were going to, then unexpectedly we stayed in the original state and she got everything redone for us. Everything had to move quickly and she kept up with all of it. She was quick to reply and answered all of our questions and concerns. If we have to buy a new home we will alway choose her and Veterans First

Connor Bushnell, Mortgage Lender with Wintrust Mortgage, always makes you feel like you're in good hands. He's always attentive, extremely knowledgeable and operates with integrity. If he gives you his word you can hold him to it. If he misses your call, he's calling back and sending you an email, generally apologizing for missing your call and following up asap.

Connor doesn't dodge questions, he addresses them head on and explains until you fully understand what he's conveying to you.
He's the only Lender who's been adamant about my VA benefits and my disability rating. He discovered that with TDIU, you receive full benefits, including full tax exemption even if you're below 100% rating.

Connor fights for his Veteran customers. He believes in treating people fairly and receiving everything that's owed to us. Certainly worth pointing out;
When applying for my initial mortgage, Connor asked how much I was comfortable paying, versus, allowing my credit to dictate my mortgage amount.
That is how I was originally qualified for this house.
Based on my comfort level, NOT what my credit score dictated I could afford.

Connor is the exception to every rule that I know. He's an anomaly. An anomaly that's making it possible for Veterans like me to hold my head high, [not in arrogance, just pride]. He's making homeownership and refinance possible for Veterans who need a little help with obtaining a "fresh start", a reset.

Then, at the end of the day, being able to look at yourself in the mirror and be proud because you were ethical in your proceedings. More people should emulate your conduct, work ethics and diligence in acting out of the best interest of the client.

Danielle and Meagan were very helpful in getting through all the hoops in getting us the mortgage for our home. They were very knowledgeable and provided needed guidance in getting through this process. From a veterans perspective I do believe some of the required inspections were more than necessary to obtain the financing and approval.

In purchasing my first home the experience of working with Melissa Staples and Dina Naswari none less the exceptionally magical. From the start of my home buying Journey Veterans First made the finding of the home very easy connecting me with an excellent, caring realtor. Throughout the rest of the process once the home was under contract Dina helped immensely in guiding me with providing all that was needed to get to the finish line. Melissa came in at the right time and her delicate touch and expertise as a loan officer manager ensured a smooth crossing of the finish line. I will certainly with Veterans when the rates come down and I’m eligible to re-fi.

My process went exceptionally smoothly and fast.

Specifically my loan agent Kaitlynn was fantastic. Great personality, who was attentive and proactive throughout. We had issues with our closure from the sellers side and Kaitlynn was the only person in the process who made it doable. I could not recommend her or Veterans First Mortgage more highly. I am so happy to finally have my first home of my own thanks to them.

Rosa Roma was great to work with. my only complaint would have to be that there was a lot of repetitive paperwork through out the whole process which made it a bit stressful.

Tyler was really helpful once he took over & gave me all the information I needed when ai needed it and communicated extremely well
