About Vets Now

Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.

That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.

Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.

Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.

We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Staff here are so nice

Staff here are so nice! The waiting area for cats is separate from dogs (which is great as my girl likes her own space), and the specialist team we see are so attentive to my cats needs. When required prescriptions are issued so I can order medication and other advice is given where needed to help her thrive. For what her treatment could cost, I feel Vets Now are very competitive with pricing.

Avoid at all costs

Attended early sat morning (02/05/26) around 2am with a very unwell dog, waited several hours while she lay on a stone cold floor, as soon as we got there we asked to get some water for our dog which was given but she brought it straight back up, this should have been major cause for concern from staff and thought they may have took our pet in as soon as possible, this wasn't the case,

Seen around 3 and a half hours later after our pet ended up taking a fit in the waiting room, all staff soon rushed in.

She was triaged, we were told some awful news after some tests but decided to give our dog the best possible fighting chance and proceeded with treatments, £230 for a salene drip, was given the option of taking our pet back to her own vets when they opened which was the best thing we done.

Asked the vet to administer the ivf drip to be told they might be too busy to do it now or by the time we take our pet away.

Were also advised of potential costs of over £1500+ per 12 hour stay in the hospital, sadly we had just changed insurance policies due to our dogs age and because it was in the first 14 day of the policy, we werent covered for any of these bills.

There was no emotion shown from the staff at all, we were handed our pet around 8am with a bag with 3/4 of the salene soltion still in it and told "you might aswell take this with you, after all you have paid for it" not something I felt was right at the time.

We took our dog to her own vets who faught tooth and nail to stabalize her, sadly she was too far gone and unlikely to make a recovery and we had to say goodbye to our girl the next day.

I seen another family that night who had their pet put down, poor man was in tears and not one person asking if he was ok or if they could offer any help or support.

Our dogs own vets on the other hand were wiping tears from their eyes, even had a candle lit with a sign advising other people that someone is saying goodbye to their loved one when this candle is lit and asked to keep noise down etc.

They took our dogs paw print and clippings of her hair for us to keep for treasured memories at no cost at all.

Total cost at vets now Glasgow £771

Further cost of £800 at her own vets.

I would avoid this pet hospital at all costs

Thank you Olivia & staff!

We can’t thank Olivia enough for the care and kindness she showed while helping look after our cat Thor at Vets for Pets. She was so patient, gentle, and reassuring during a really stressful time for us. It was clear she genuinely cared about his wellbeing and took the time to explain things and keep us calm too. We felt completely confident leaving him in her hands. Such a lovely person and a real credit to the practice – thank you, Olivia
We also can’t fault the team at Vets now as a whole. From start to finish, everyone was professional, compassionate, and incredibly supportive. The practice is well organised, communication was clear, and we always felt listened to and taken seriously. During such a worrying situation, it made a huge difference knowing our cat was in such capable, caring hands. We’re so grateful for the level of care provided and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this vets to anyone.

We're sorry you had to wait, Jayne. We triage our patients so the sickest pets are treated first, which can mean longer waits at busy times. We are sorry for any additional stress this has caused and are glad to hear you found our staff at Vets Now Hospital to be attentive. Take care

Misdiagnosis

Unfortunately treated a wound infection as an allergic reaction, so made no difference and still had to visit vet in the morning. Expensive and frustrating.

Friendly, calm and helpful staff.

Marley was taken quickly. He was checked properly with his diabetes and his heart. The vet explained evetything to me if I took Marley home but she gave me the choice to leave Marley over night incase he got worse. In yhe end he was fine and just loved the attention off all the staff in ICU.
