First visit to Vets Now

Staff were friendly and helpful and polite throughout. Made us and our dog feel at ease and explained everything that was going on.
So lucky to be able to see a vet within a few hours and get medication for our dog.

We recently took our dog Gracie to Manchester Vets Now for an abdominal investigation and CT scan, and I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the staff.

From the receptionist to the nursing team, and especially to the vet James and the nurse who handed Gracie back to us, sorry missed your name. Everyone was kind, professional, and took the time to clearly explain the procedure and aftercare. We felt genuinely reassured and relaxed throughout the whole experience.

A big thank you to you all – we truly appreciate the care and compassion you showed. 👏

Absolutely amazing care at Vets Now Now…

Absolutely amazing care at Vets Now Manchester.
My dog was sick whilst we were on holiday, after being unable to access the specialist care he needed there I drove him straight back home and to Vets Now. He is very anxious at the vets and they dealt with him so beautifully making a difficult situation so much easier. And he was able to come home sooner than expected.

The Vets Now we attended in Whitefield…

The Vets Now we attended in Whitefield was very professional, friendly and helpful when we took our dog Sheldon for what we thought was an emergency after he ate a current, thankfully he suffered no harm after we were told to observe him for 48hrs. The staff were excellent and put our minds at ease.

Vets Now Referral

Everyone was really helpful and friendly. The vet we saw Ollie, was brilliant, listened to what our dog's symptoms were, then told us what he would do, in simple terms so we could understand. Gave us the quote and checked we were happy to go ahead. We had to leave Hope overnight and someone phoned to reassure us that she was okay. When we went to collect her Ollie again told us what they had done and what treatment once they got all the tests back. Told us he would email our vet and ourselves and any questions that we only had to phone and he would get back to us. Would definitely recommend as every member of staff we came into contact with was really helpful.

pet - charlotte
address - 39 wyresdale cres PR2

My dog Charlotte has a diagnosis of leishmaniasis and therefore i could not get insurance for a pre existing
condition. She's a rescue from overseas and at the time of adopting her she was leish negative.
In June 2025 she had a massive nose
bleed. I took her to my vet who did bio chemistry blood tests and performed a rhinoscopy - nose inspection.
The blood results were pretty bad, she had anemia and other markers. My vet said it was a complicated case and asked if i wanted a referral to hospital.
He rang vets now and told them what he'd already done and suggested a blood transfusion.
When i arrived, i told the hospital vet of her leish diagnosis and what my vet had already done.
I was given an estimate of between £3-£5k. Nearer 3k without a blood transfusion or nearer 5k with a blood transfusion. He suggested Charlotte have an overnight stay even though the nose bleeds had stopped. I left a deposit of 2k

I received a voice message from the vet to say i could collect Charlotte and he said he was going on holiday and wouldn't be back until the 7th July. He would then contact me with the blood results.
I collected Charlotte and she was given medication for her stomach and anti anxiety antidepressant type meds.
As she is not an anxious dog I didn't give her those meds especially as i didn't want her zonked out as i wouldn't recognise if she wasn't well!
She hadn't had a blood transfusion and I was given a bill for £4,339.73!. They'd also repeated the rhinoscopy which was unnecessary.
The other medication for her stomach - omeprazole made her vomit so i rang the hospital and i was told it can cause nausea but not vomiting so i did my own research and it does cause vomiting!! I also asked that when the blood results come back for them to ring me, i was told they didn't have time for that and i'd have to wait for the vet to come back from holiday.
In the meantime I contacted the overseas dog charity where I adopted Charlotte from and a group "living with leish" and sent them my own vets blood results and both said she needed to be on leish medication.
Fast forward - i waited for the hospital vet to get back from holiday and after a few missed calls to and from - I managed to speak to him and he said he wasn't going to prescribe anything even though the blood tests showed anemia, high antibodies for leishmania, chronic rhinitis, low iron, and slightly high protein.
I asked for the blood results to be emailed to me and I was told they would be emailed the following day.
5 days later and i still haven't got them.
In summing up:
- I'd never use vets now again.
- the repeating of tests was unnecessary (rhinoscopy)
- the estimate was miles out in their favour.
- the communication was shocking.
- it did not warrant an over night stay.
- I was misinformed about the omeprazole.
- I'm still waiting - 5 days later for the blood results to be emailed over.
- the bill was extortionate, It's nearly a years income for me and as insurance wasn't an option i feel well and truly hard done by! All pet lovers will do anything to help their pets and some organisations know that. I appreciate vets study long and hard for their qualifications and have learning fees to pay back but there's expensive vet bills and damn right ridiculously over priced services.

Excellent and reassuring pet medical care

Having to take your sick animal anywhere in the middle of the night is stressful in so many ways. The staff here, from Emma the nurse, Laura, emotional and animal support, to Louyen the vet, I felt my dog was in very safe hands. The people are so gentle and professional, they just make things easier.

They have state of the art animal care and support pinned down from clinical intervention to how you are welcomed when you arrive. Won’t ever be able to fully express how grateful I am for their kindness. Thank you so much.

They are OK

I have found myself using this emergency service again.
Again they have done their job and furthermore have lots of patience waiting to be paid, whilst the insurance company drag their feet! Having to help them to get the claim through they have communicated with me in a proper manner.

Vets now. Excellent service

We had to rush our dog over to Vets Now as our vets were closing a few minutes after they called us with the test results for my dog. They told us we needed to get her to an emergency vet that night as they couldn't help us. We called vets now and they got us in straight away, which was great as if we had left our dog much longer she would have died. They operated on her the same night and we had her back the following day. All of the staff were amazing and I would definitely use them again if required

Great experience

Great experience
This team just get it and really support when you are in an emergency situation, worried about your pet. The only issue is the cost! I would love to find a standard vet as good as they are or wish I could use them more consistently but the cost makes that unrealistic! I would not hesitate to contact them again if I found myself in the same situation with my dog as I trust them to help and do a good job.
