Poor advice. Wrong diagnosis. Inconsistent advice from vets. Really poor. I won't use again unless I really have no other choice.

Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The hospital was very clean and welcoming. Good facilities in place in the waiting area.
Separate waiting space for cats which was helpful.
Nurse and the vets were really knowledgeable, understanding and helpful. My kitten came away much better than he went in and was nice and relaxed.
Reception staff were also very kind, friendly and made sure everything went smoothly.
Very happy with the treatment of me and my kitten.

Unfortunately my 4 month old puppy, Apollo, broke his leg whilst my regular vet’s was closed, so we were recommended to come to Vets Now. As upsetting as the situation was, it couldn’t have worked out better for us than it did by coming here.
The nurses and surgeons were absolutely fantastic - as it happened on a weekend he had to stay for a total of around 5 days, and we were called regularly and sent photos of how he was doing to put our minds at ease! Just to name a few people we spoke to, Fiona and Kelly were super amazing at keeping us updated, Jake and Gabi helped explain the surgery/ aftercare, and Vickie from reception was incredibly patient in helping me get some extra medication delivered to my vets and was just overall super bubbly! But overall we didn’t have a single bad experience.
Apollo had a great time as well despite everything, and everytime we came back for a check up he would be so excited to see everyone (which was not helpful in keeping his leg rested 🤣).
If you are ever in an emergency I definitely recommend going here - I hope we never have to go back, but if we do this is the first place I would go.

First time with them and I'm very happy with the service. They treated my cat really quick and carefully. They helped me to understand what happened. We don't like emergencies, but as they are inevitable it is good to know VetsNow exist.

Thank you so much. Great to get an immediate emergency appointment. Cost was high, but it was out of hours.

Got seen very quickly by a very friendly vet (Anantha I think her name was) who showed great care and compassion for my elderly cat who had a large open abscess. Received treatment and advice on what to do next and I am very grateful. This was late in the evening on a bank holiday and as a result, it was not cheap at all (no pet insurance) but it was worth every penny and still worthy of 5 stars due to the exceptional service we received.
The cat is already doing better so fingers crossed she makes a full recovery.

Quality service at a difficult time. Bob, our 14yr old dog needed an operation for laryngeal paralysis which became emergent as we were in reception. The whole process rolled seamlessly into action and I felt reassured that he was in the best hands. Bob's surgeon, John, came to us when Bob was safely stabilised to explain the procedure and take note of our concerns about Bob's age. We left him feeling confident that they had the expertise to keep him safe. We were kept updated as to his progress and recovery and collected a much happier dog the next day. Bob's quality of life was immediately improved and he continues to recover well, with queries by email answered by return. The staff were wonderful, the reception were welcoming, the car parking is spacious and the complimentary tea was the best cuppa I've ever had from a machine. 😄 This is a good place to have your furry family taken care of.

The whole team at Manchester hospital Vets Now were outstanding I have never known so much kindness and respect they show not just to us but our dog Enzo as well . They were very quick to respond to our emergency . Updated us ,said we could ring anytime for the simplest of reasons , even sending us a photo and update at 11pm while he stayed 2 nights . Enzo had a multitude of tests , scan , ultra sound all very scary for a big dog that hadn’t shown no sign of illness until that day 8th April . Our own vet didn’t have the right equipment , gave very little hope when informing us he may not last the night. There is no cure for Enzo but this hospital had faith in Enzo that we will have more time with him and make sure he has months left under their guidance . Enzo was even awarded a certificate for outstanding bravery which reduced the whole family to tears when we saw it . This team are truly inspirational. Thank you so much .

I cannot fault our experience with the excellent staff and facilities when we took our cat in for emergency treatment. The facilities are state of the art, the staff friendly, courteous and so knowledgeable and professional. The vet took us through every step of the assessment and treatment, taking time to thoroughly explain and show us each set of results. She also talked us through the options for next steps and was extremely patient with us. The reception staff were great at talking us through the insurance claim process and very considerate. I was so impressed by the whole outfit and found it to be so professional.

I cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional care provided by Vets Now. After my dog was referred to them on a Thursday, I was advised by my regular vet that I would hear back within a week. To my surprise, I received a call just 20 minutes later, and she was booked in for the very next day.
The veterinary team was incredibly professional and took the time to thoroughly explain the entire procedure, which gave me great confidence and peace of mind. In fact, my dog underwent surgery that same day, and she is now well on the road to recovery.
The aftercare advice provided was clear, detailed, and extremely helpful—making this difficult process much more manageable. I’m truly grateful for the prompt and compassionate service we received.

All the people that work there is lovely. They are kind, sweet. It's very stressful having to take your pet to a hospital, and they help you to calm down, they treat you very nicely.
My cat was hospitalised there for 2 days. They gave me phone calls during the whole process to give me updates, and I could call them any time to ask for it as well. Even when he was discharged and he was at home, I could called them to ask for questions at any time.
I speak to my cat in my first language (Spanish) and when he was hospitalised, they asked me if my cat prefers to be spoken to in Spanish, which I found very sweet and thoughtful. I felt like I was leaving my cat in good hands.
Thank you for all this, you're making this process a lot easier. I wish I could be a patient there!

The whole experience was faultless. From receiving a text message acknowledgment of the referral while still stood in our own vets surgery, the booking in process, being triaged immediately on arrival, being kept updated and reassured by the vet and the vet nurses even sending a picture of our dog during the night to show he was doing well was just brilliant and made what was a traumatic and frightening experience that much easier to deal with.

We travelled for an hour because VetsNow Manchester is by far the best emergency out of hours service for us in Southport. They answer the phone quickly, have excellent staff and excellent vets there all the time. Yet again our pet emergency was dealt with quickly, thoughtfully, thoroughly and with tremendous intelligence and care. Our cat was sedated, treated, medicated and back home in bed to recover from trying to eat a threaded needle before the night was out. Priceless to us. Thank you once again for being there when needed.

Our cat Hamish became quite ill and we were very worried about him. Took him to Vets Now for out of hours care and they were brilliant. The facilities there are really good. Explained what was happening and gave Hamish excellent care. He's back home with us now being looked after. Thank you.
