Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

I can't thank Vets Now enough for the great care they provided my dog during his overnight stay. The staff were incredibly attentive and compassionate, ensuring he was comfortable while receiving IV fluids. They kept me updated on his condition and made sure all my questions were answered. It's clear they genuinely care about their patients. Highly recommend Vets Now.

We phoned up the OOH service, they directed us to our nearest service. When we arrived they had our cat’s name & we were seen within 10 mins.
He had bloods done.
Everything was explained in detail, so we understood our options. We were given some medicine for him. We were in & out in about 45 mins. It was an excellent service.

Understanding from the first call to seeing the vet. Immediately on seeing that my dog was mega stressed after a seizure (as was I!). Put us in a quiet room allowing her to settle in a darkened room. Whole manner was cram and understanding .

The consultation was a complete waste of time and did nothing to appease my concern I have serious doubts that the person I saw was a qualified vet and apart from temperature heart and weight check nothing was accomplished at a cost for consultation of £313 was a complete ripoff, I visited my vet the following morning and explained the symptoms and even the receptionist was able to diagnose the problem Cystitis
Which is now successfully treated. You can rest assured that I will do everything in my power to warn my dog group and friends to at all costs avoid your alleged veterinary services

Disgusting experience.
Saw Anna VET
Took in my poorly dog, they did no general observations other than listened to my dog’s heart and said she couldn’t hear it because he was panting. Which he was very unwell. She blamed him being overweight. He has continued to have serious issues following this appointment and charged £480 for some tablets.
He is now in with another Vet seriously unwell which could’ve been prevented had she actually took my concerns seriously.

Given antibiotics which made my cat really ill. I rang to see if I could collect different ones. I was told to persevere with them. That was really poor advice as my cat was now really sick & couldnt keep anything down.
£345 for such poor advice.
Also how can the consultation fee be justified? It is almost 4x a normal fee. Twice the normal cost I could accept but it is far too expensive. As a concerned owner you leave us no choice but to pay it. Not so bad if your pet didnt end up more ill & then given poor follow up advice

Notes were not sent to my vet
IV line was left in my pet, my vet did not know why and had to remove this.

It was good to be able to get treatment for my cat in an evening, and for him to to be able to stay overnight but the cost was astronomical.

Following booking the appointment over the phone, there was no record of the appointment once arriving at St Georges Vets so we ended up going over all of the details again. Once the appointment had concluded the receptionist confirmed that the information has been sent to our regular vets for follow up which also had not happened. I also checked with our insurance company if the case had been opened directly by St Georges Vets, which we were advised it had, and again this hadn't happened. I can also understand a premium in cost for out of hours facilities but find the additional cost for this service extortionate and unaffordable.
I also feel that the receptionist at the Vets had an unusual manner and seemed impatient and irritable.
On a positive note, the service that we received from the Vet on the day was extremely good and I would have full confidence in this person.
