Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

saw us quickly and sorted our cat so he can get back to normal quickly. Reception staff were excellent.

The expense is outrageous. We were quoted a “lower price” to help keep the cost down. So removed the blood test. Only to actually higher the price and it didn’t even include the bloods! The updates were great and they looked after our pet even if she still seemed quite poorly. The staff are really friendly.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Took my pet in because he was sick with high temperature, the vet looked at him for less than 5 minutes while I was not in the examination room. Then concluded that he was fine, despite me not agreeing. Then promptly charged me £300 pounds for a less than 5 minutes of unsatisfactory consultation. I got the impression that the vet was in a hurry for me to go. Then sure enough, my pet was still sick the day after, which is less than 24 hours later, and had to be treated for an infection. I complained, but even though the complaints procedure seems thorough, but it is just a box ticking exercise where they will refuse to admit they have done anything wrong no matter what you say. Complete waste of time and shocked by the service that we received.

My dog required emergency veterinary treatment. I would like to firstly say I have no complaint with the vet.The issue I wish to highlight is the extortionate fees, three injections were given one after the other, I have been charged £22.50 each fees on top of the drugs cost. One drug was only £1.68. Prescription drug supplied a fee above 50% of its value was applied. UPDATE the detail you provided to look at your fees NO LONGER EXISTS according to your website.

Initial consultation fee is very expensive and should be according to work done.

The price of seeing the emergency vet is extraordinary high too high

Staff were so kind and helpful to our lovely cat Bobby. They explained everything to us and were so compassionate and professional that we felt reassured by the standard of care he recieved. We could not have been in better hands. Thank you so much to all the staff that helped us during such a difficult and distressing time. I felt they went above and beyond in supporting us and Bobby in those last moments.

From the phone call to book in our dog to arriving at the centre seeing the vet I can’t speak highly enough. All the staff were lovely and very helpful. The vet was so kind and caring towards our dog and to us. She explained everything throughly and allowed us to give him a hug before we left him in their care. They told us to call any time for updates. To the point when we called they took the phone down to him and placed it by his ears. Thank you all so much for all the love and care.

Visited during the early hours at around 4.45. Explained what had been going on with our dog, and that she was in shock. They examined her said she had a low temperature plus gave her anti sickness, painkiller injection and some electrolytes to help. No mentioned of having a blood test. It was mentioned in passing that she could do with some fluids but because we would have to collect her within 2 hours so we were advised to visit our vets as soon as they open and explain that we had visited.
Sadly we lost our dog later that day with sepsis.

Quick and efficient, ready and waiting for our poor border collie after having a seizure.

We could have been referred at the appointment for an MRI scan but were told we had to go to our vets for the referral which meant waiting 2 days. Our Vet wasn’t impressed.

Cannot thank the team enough especially Gorka, Bex and Debbie who went over and above caring for us and our beautiful boy on Christmas Eve night.
Unfortunately he had to be euthanised but the service we received was exceptional. People complain about the cost but we couldn't see him in pain and he went down hill fast and we accepted that to help him we needed to pay. We know what working in this sevice is like first hand. Been there, done it! Many thanks again. Keep up ,the fantastic work. Millington Family
