Mugged off!!!

Disgusting service, I placed my order for the gold chair back in AUGUST!!! and despite several emails detailing different delivery dates & "regular" emails from FRANCESCA - these have now stopped & I can't get an answer from anyone!! AND still don't have my chair!!!

Further insulted by LEE emailing to ask me not to leave a bad review on here ONCE I received my order and I could claim free whiskey glasses... I replied to his email asking for an ETA but he didn't reply! AND I still don't have my chair!!!

I've tried emailing every email address I can find, messaged on Facebook - NOTHING!! No response from anyone!!

Wonder if someone will reply on here?????

We have been trying for months to refund customers who are still awaiting a refund.

Please contact us at refundsvictorverace@gmail.com with a screenshot of your order and proof you have not been refunded. We will then arrange for you to be refunded or have your items sent (if we have them).

A small explanation is found below:

In August last year we teamed up with 4 manufacturers in China to produce a range of furniture items. As with a lot of furniture suppliers like DFS we intended to use a made to order business model hence the 8 week lead time. The idea was the customer orders their products, we manufacturer them and have them sent directly to the customer.

We rented a warehouse in Doncaster and set up accounts with Parcel Force to deliver the items. We went through a broker called Despatchbay.com.

After placing a few adverts on Facebook orders flooded in and our suppliers assured us they could keep up with the demand.  As with any start up we were extremely excited to be off the ground so quickly.

However come October our suppliers were getting further and further behind which is when we decided to only take orders on very specific ranges. We noticed that the delivery times were not going to be met which is when we started sending mass emails to customers.

In the month of October refunded over £180,000 in orders as people became impatient and others were becoming worried we were a scam. We willingly handed back the money as we were in fact not a scam but a struggling start up. (something we can of course prove). If we had any bad intentions we would not of started heavily refunding customers.

As all the furniture items started arriving we used parcel force to fulfill most orders (98%). At this point we was no longer accepting any new orders and was focused solely on fulfilling current orders.

We started seeing instagram posts of people with their items, we even had one featured at Grand Designs. It was at this point we thought things were finally turning around.

However we was very very wrong...

It was around this time (early november) that people started to believe we were a scam. Groups started being set up and fake accounts who were messaging all our customers telling them to issue a chargebacks with the bank. They were purposely trying to sabotage us and to this date we are still unclear why. However they started to make those still waiting second guess our legitimacy.

What pursued after was complete chaos, we had hundreds and hundreds of chargebacks flooding in as we worked from 4am to 9pm (again something we can prove) to send out items. We were shipping out on average 400+ parcels a day (We have the thousands of receipts to prove this).

Then towards the end of November at which point over 40to 50% of all orders had been delivered and a vast number refunded (again something we can prove). Parcel force didn't turn up for our usual collection (7am with 2 7.5 tonne wagons).

I personally got through to the depot and they told me they would no longer be working with us. They explained the parcels were far too large and heavy and stated they were running at a loss due to us using despatch bay. (Even though our items fell within their max size limits) I pleaded and pleaded with them to collect the current orders booked in however they refused. (Feel free to ring Parcel Force as they can't deny this).

We had over 700 parcels alone that day which were already labelled up and paid for. The next issue was DPD would only allow us to send parcels up to 2.25CBM which meant we had to manually book in each order with Myhermes.

Due to the 700 orders being cancelled and the tracking not working this only helped fuel people's concerns. Which resulted in more bad feedback and more chargebacks.

A few days later our selling platform Shopify decided to limit our account due to the large number of chargebacks. In doing so they also stopped allowing access to the platform which means we can no longer see customers orders, reply to chargebacks, issue refunds etc. I begged them to at least allow myself access to see customers orders. I explained without this it's impossible to send and fulfil any outstanding orders. At this stage all the stock had arrived, we had a warehouse bursting at the seams with stock but was unable to send any of it.

I sent 6 further emails begging Shopify for the information to no avail.

To this date this is still the situation we're in.

We've refunded every order we can find, we haven’t taken a penny from the business since October when issues started arising.

We still have no way of telling who's been refunded, who's had their items delivered and we can't even reply to chargebacks.

We know there have been thousands of people who have received their items and got their money back due to this. It was being encouraged massively on social media to open chargebacks and we noticed the comments of many people say they'd managed to get a refund and keep their items.

I can completely understand how this looks like a scam. Believe me I am beyond frustrated how things turned out.

However all I can do as this stage is try to find those who have not received their items or been refunded. So please, if you have not received a refund or your items then let me know.

I can only beg you not to claim a refund if you have already received one.

Kind Regards

Duped yet again!

I wish I could just leave a zero.

You’ll see myself and others received a generic response below.

Which I actually had the heart to believe. I emailed them my order details as requested (see in their response) and guess what? Nothing. Not a single reply.

So once again my good will has been prayed upon.

Shameful.

Totally untrustworthy

Ordered a dressing table in September 2019. A few sporadic e-mails in reply and no product despite numerous emails. Reported to police, trading standards and initiated court proceedings.

PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM VICTOR VERACE!!!

I ordered chairs early November after saving up for a while and after years trying to decide on the decor for my dining area. On placing the order, it was stated that delivery would be within 6 to 8 weeks as it was to be handmade. As I had waited years for a dining room, I could wait a few weeks for the dining room that I had taken years to save for!

At the 6 week mark, I contacted the company requesting an ETA, I received no response. A few days later, I contacted them again and I received an email informing me that I would receive a tracking reference within the next few days. The tracking reference did not arrive.

At week 8, I contacted them again and received an out of office message advising that the office was closed and would reopen on 3rd January. I emailed a few days later and still the same out of office.

I have since emailed requesting ETA or a refund and I have had no response.

Looking at their website recently, it is currently being updated. There is no telephone number. This is no way to run a business. I hadn’t seen these reviews on here until recently and wish I had done so before placing the order which I have not received.

FYI- I do not like giving bad reviews to anyone as a general rule, but feel need to here if only to prevent others of a similar fate/disappointment.

Gave up

Gave up and got my money back through my bank. Didn't take long. Would advise others to do the same to save further headaches with this company.

Please contact us at refundsvictorverace@gmail.com with a screenshot of your order and proof you have not been refunded. We will then arrange for you to be refunded or have your items sent (if we have them).

TERRIBLE!

I purchased a chair in October 2019 - albeit nerved doing so by the poor reviews I had read but I was in love with the chair. There was a note to say that items were made to order and there should be an 8 week wait, after 4 weeks I received a dispatch email I was pleased! Link to Parcelforce and everything. After 3 days and the Parcelforce tracking completely froze and I knew I had been part of this SCAM! I contacted Parcelforce who had said I needed to speak to my retailer. I contacted VV on facebook, Instagram and via their email, I received emails to say the chair would arrive tomorrow and a replacement had been sent, this went on for 3 weeks

In December 2019 as I had paid on my credit card I called Barclaycard and requested for the funds to be recalled, this happened within 3 days. I funny enough received a call last week (Jan 2020) to say that the retailer has confirmation that my item has been delivered, I explained everything and told BC to look online at this companies TERRIBLE reviews - haven't heard anything back.

I find it very telling that when I was chasing my item there were 100s of comments on their social medial pages with the same issues. Absolute scam! I have since seen that the website is "under review" - feel extremely sorry for people who haven't got any money back.

Director Lee - please send email address you want confirmation sent to.

Ok Lee. Why can’t you provide your email address on this post? I have tried to contact you via the email address confirmation - bounces back. Tried via your website support page. No acknowledgement. If you can send me the email Address you want this proof of order and order number sent to I will do this. Sent message via FB - no reply.... how can we get this to you then?? If you would just reply to customer emails it would stop a lot of this hassle.

Thank you

I have just received a refund via my credit card company. I already posted with the same complaints as everyone else - no goods and no communication. I notice that there are a lot of replies on here from the company - but they don't reply to their customers. It all sounds convincing but meanwhile the MD lives in an expensive property on your cash! Contact your payment card and get a refund before they go bankrupt.

Scam!

I spent nearly £500 on chairs and 2 months later I’ve had nothing. No confirmation email, no one responds to my emails, my bank can’t help because I ordered on a debit card.
This company is a scam.
I realise they have had some issues but the lack of communication is unacceptable. We’ve been without any chairs for two months (including over Christmas which was really disappointing) and because we don’t know what’s going on we haven’t been able to buy any. So now we’re just stuck in limbo for longer. I have worked with Shopify in the past and I know their customer service is excellent and fast so I can’t understand why someone would be locked out of their account for two months.

Dear Customer

We would like to take this opportunity to apologise once again to some of you regarding the delivery of your furniture and try to explain the reasons behind this.

When the orders were placed with the manufacturers, and of course in the planning stages prior to setting up the business, we were promised a manufacturing time that totalled 2 weeks. Once an order was placed, the money got sent to the manufacturers so they could begin the process of producing the furniture. However, as soon as they received payment, the time taken was 7 weeks for manufacturing, and is some cases up to 10 weeks. This explains why some of the furniture was taking a lot longer to arrive with us than anticipated and planned for. Couple this with the transportation delays from arriving at the port to our warehouse in Doncaster, and a few months passed before it arrived.

On the 17th December, ParcelForce (who were our main courier) cancelled our collections on the day, along with our contract, due to the size and weight of the parcels.

The following day, our payment provider and website host – Shopify – limited the access to our account due to the number of people we were refunding as the deliveries were falling outside of the time stated upon purchase. As of present, we have delivered 58% of all orders and refunded 27%.

Today, the 27th January, we still have no access to our website or payment database which makes it impossible to send orders, refund customers or even provide evidence for the fraudulent chargebacks made against us.

We would like to make you aware that if you have an outstanding order with us, or you are awaiting a refund, these will be processed as soon as Shopify grant us access again. We are not a fraudulent company and have been placed in this awful situation – for us as a company and also you as the customer you have trusted us to deliver your goods.

As the director of the company, I want to assure you that you will receive either your items, or a full refund, as soon as possible.

If you're awaiting delivery please email us with your order number, the items you ordered (preferably a screenshot and your delivery address) we can then arrange for your goods to be delivered).

My sincere apologies once again.

Yours sincerely,

Lee

Still no chair. No refund. No explaination.

Ordered one chair in August as I was weary of the prices and thought it best to see if I liked it before ordering an entire set - have sent over 15 emails - seems to be a different person responding each time or simply a copy and paste email with a different excuse. Never answering my questions.

Never offering compensation, never offering a solid delivery date.

Was told in december it was in warehouse waiting to be sent within 5 days. Obviously a complete lie.
Still no chair. No refund. No compensation. No explaination.

This company is scum.

*Update - after the reply from Lee being posted below - I emailed the company yet again (as advised) with my reference number and my address - still unsurprisingly no reply.

this company is registered as ‘loose money ltd’

I ordered 2 dining chairs which were eventually delivered almost 3 months later but with a defect. They offered a replacement which never arrived and they stopped responding to my email.
I spoke to citizens advice bureau and with their advice wrote an official complaint letter. It was signed by someone at the address but later returned with a note on the envelop ‘not at this address’. I then went back to CAB who advised me to check with companies house or insolvency agency which I did but neither of them could find victor Verace on their system. At this point CAB advised me to report this to action fraud and they had informed them directly too.
And then I found out that this company is actually registries as ‘loose money ltd’ (11380226) and the owner is Lee John BELCHER.
If any of you wants to take action to get your money back, this is the company you need to go after, not ‘victor Verace’.
Good luck all! and I really do hope this company goes down and held responsible for their actions.

No star, black mark only!

It’s a shame you can’t just give them minus or a special black mark to denote scammers. We ordered chairs, costing £500, months ago. They never arrived, and it’s not possible to contact the company. People who scam deserve a long stretch in prison and I hope this is what they get one day!

EDIT: it’s now October 2023 and we STILL have not received a refund or the chairs!
