Considering 308 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported consistently rude and unhelpful staff, often encountering difficulties with customer service that showed little concern for passengers. People frequently faced unexpected and excessive charges, particularly for baggage or seat changes, which felt like a money-making tactic. Reviewers also experienced significant flight delays and rescheduling, sometimes multiple times, leading to wasted time and disrupted travel plans. Greedy and nasty

Greedy and nasty. Was on a journey to Da Nang on 14/03. They will take chance to charge every bit extra penny even on name booking. I have never had problem with same name on bookings before with other airlines, which included SwissAir, Lufthansa, AirFrance and domestic airlines as Bamboo and Vietnam Airline and Sunphuquoc.
Vietjet implied cheeky flight rules, customer service is horrible, especially at airport customer service kiosk. They were arrogant and tricky when being asked about how they understood and applied their silly rules on changing name with extra charge, it’s not even for different passenger, it’s for the same person, got replied with nasty attitude : “that how it works in here, you should read”. Ffs, incompetent and corrupted from inside their system is what they got.

I understand that low-cost airlines do…

I understand that low-cost airlines do not provide luxury service, and I have flown with VietJet Air 7-8 times before. But my recent flight from Phu Quoc to Hanoi was by far the worst experience I have had.

The check-in and boarding pass staff were extremely rude. Their tone of speaking was disrespectful, as if passengers were troubling them by asking normal questions. I understand if someone is not comfortable in English, and that is not an issue, but they were not able to explain things clearly or provide proper information.

My wife is pregnant, and there was a clear sign at the counter asking pregnant passengers to inform the staff. We informed them immediately and showed all the required proof. Even after that, the staff kept asking for more and more documents and behaved very rudely with her.

Finally, after confirming everything, they made her sign a form and attached it to the boarding pass. Naturally, I thought this process was for her safety or to provide some support, such as a better seat, an aisle seat, or at least a little extra comfort. But when we entered the plane, we were given one of the worst seat combinations — middle and window seats, with no aisle access and no extra legroom. Surprisingly, even our other family members got better seats than us.

During the flight also, the cabin crew was not attentive even for basic things like water.

This was not just poor service — it was a complete lack of care, especially toward a pregnant passenger. I have accepted budget airline limitations many times before, but basic politeness, proper communication, and some care for special situations should still be expected.

Very disappointing experience. I will think twice before flying with VietJet Air again.

Vietjet Air Experience Saigon to Phu Quoc

Booked a trip from Saigon to Puh Quoc and back half a year ago not knowing the airline. A few days before scheduled trip they cancelled my back flight and put me on a later flight. After that they also cancelled my outbound flight to Phu Quoc and postponed on a flight 5 hours later. A day ahaed of the trip I read the reviews about the airline and was shocked. Told myself "kick the bucket"and booked a new flight with Vietnam Airlines.
Worked perfectly.

Avoid

Avoid. I was charged x3 time for the same seats even before I got to the airport. I continual phoned and emailed from inside Vietnam to try to resolve issue. Response was another payment link with no seat. In the end my Vietnamese wife went to airport to complain. Obtained seats but were x3 times out of pocket. No wonder they make money by conning people. Flights were late. Better to book with a reputable airline.

One of the worst companies I have ever…

One of the worst companies I have ever experienced. I travel often and I'm not difficult, but this is a scandal. The online customer experience is completely dishonest. Lots of hidden fees. During an 8-hour flight, I only got a bottle of water. Not a single free coffee, or even a meal, despite spending 500 Australian dollars on this ticket, it's shameful. Furthermore, the staff on board is very, very unpleasant, and the flight attendants are quite arrogant, for no good reason. Don’t give them your money and go with other low-cost airlines!!!

Smooth flight, helpful staff

Flew from Hanoi to Da Nang with VietJet — quick and smooth. Despite being busy, the staff were attentive and helpful throughout. Great value for a short domestic route. Would fly with them again.

Be careful when you have luggage

Be careful when you have luggage. There appears to be a nonchalant approach to weather the checked luggage turns up or not. Do not use vietjet as a connecting flight because if they stuff up and you final destination is not one of Vietjets routes.. they will not guarantee anything.. they pretty much said to me ... problem is yours..
I flew hanoi ho chi min. Luggage didnt arrive.. will arrive on next flight ... too late ..for my connection..... I had to forfeit my connecting flight.
Never again.

The Service is horrible. On my flight from Bali to Hanoi they forget to get my luggage on the plane. So when I’ve arrive in Hanoi my luggage was still in Bali.
Since Hanoi was only a one night stay for me before heading further to Germany, I needed a quick solution to get my backpack. They were not willing to make any movements in my directions. They were not willing to send it to my home address wither to cover the additional costs I have had for getting by luggage bag.

Pleasant and On-Time Flight with Friendly Service

I recently flew with VietJet Air from Pleiku to Hanoi, and overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

The flight departed right on schedule, which I really appreciated, especially given the airline’s reputation for delays. Boarding was efficient and well-organized, making the entire pre-flight process smooth and stress-free.

The cabin crew were friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout the flight. They maintained a positive and professional attitude, always ready to assist passengers, which added to the overall comfort of the journey.

One highlight was the in-flight meal. For a low-cost carrier, the food exceeded my expectations — it was flavorful and well-prepared.

The cabin was clean, and the seats were well-maintained, providing a comfortable environment for the duration of the flight.

Overall, this was an enjoyable trip.

Avoid this airline

Avoid this airline. I’ve had multiple terrible experiences with them. On my last flight, they forced me to check my carry-on because it was slightly overweight. Fine, I get it, $60 CAD fee seemed steep. But then, after I stepped away for the bathroom, they tracked down my husband and charged him an extra $10 CAD because of their own mistake. A company that can’t own up to its own errors is completely incompetent. This also happened on my Birthday of all days. Happy Birthday to me LOL.

I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience with VietJet Air in Ho Chi Minh City. The service was unprofessional, and several staff members were rude and dismissive. Their attitude made the whole process unnecessarily stressful.

Instead of being helpful, staff seemed impatient and unwilling to assist with basic requests. As a passenger, you expect at least a minimum level of courtesy and respect, but that was clearly lacking.

Air travel can already be stressful, and poor customer service only makes it worse. VietJet Air really needs to improve staff training and take customer experience more seriously.

Delay,delay and delay.

Delay and delay. Bought the ticket to fly from Ho Chi Minh to Quy Nhon to depart at 13:30 but it was delayed until 20:30. I think it was the last flight of the day. Please avoid this airline if you can.

This is my favorite budget airline in…

This is my favorite budget airline in Vietnam. The staff are professional and friendly. Passengers who are about to depart but haven't checked in yet are often called by name to avoid missing their flight. My flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh was perfectly on time. Thank you.
