SCAMMERS

$156 to return a purchase? Never again. They refused to help or make an exception even though I planned to reorder. Zero flexibility, awful customer service. Be careful — they do not stand by the customer.

Spreetail is a scam!

Just like many other posters here, I returned a patio deck box that was never taken out of the shipping carton. I bought it through Amazon. Spreetail is trying to charge me over $80 as a restocking fee saying the item was damaged or used which is totally untrue. The deck box cost $99 plus tax! This outfit is a scam!
June 15, 2025 - update- Spreetail gave me a $13 refund on this purchase which was a fraction of $106 I paid including tax, so I contacted Amazon which did investigate and give me full refund. I got my money back, but only after the hassle of emailing Spreetail multiple times and dealing with Amazon customer service. Amazon reps were fine, it was just trying to find out how to call and get a live human that took time.

Scammer don't buy from them

I ordered some pool parts that first didn't ship out on time, then were going the wrong direction to other cities in the complete opposite direction in shipping. I needed the parts so I bought them from someone else and got them before Spreetail's package arrived. I just put the return label on the box and returned it. They are now charging a restocking fee claiming the unopened box I returned contains unsellable items. This company is a scam artist. Either they shipped me old, defective, unsellable parts (I don't know if this is the case since I never opened it) or is lying about the condition of the items received. In either case avoid these folks and buy from someone reputable.

I ordered a small trampoline through…

I ordered a small trampoline through Amazon. The shipping was delayed. Supposedly coming through FedEx. I contacted the seller and was offered a $70 discount for my trouble. This was the first red flag. I was scammed by a drop shipper a year ago and the pattern is the same. Read the other reviews and realize IF you ever get your product it will be damaged and you will have a very hard time recovering your money. Amazon is waffling on this right now.

I placed an order for a pool on 5/16

I placed an order for a pool on 5/16. Delivery was supposed to occur the following Monday. As soon as my affirm payment went through, the shipping changed to delayed. There is zero movement and I have been told multiple excuses. Do not order from these people unless you want to be played for a fool. They wont even allow me to cancel the order, although it has never been shipped. I also offered to pay the restocking fee now just to cancel the order. It is EVIDENT
that we are going to either receive nothing as many others have or receive a torn up or broken pool. Scam company. UPDATE: after Spreetail refusing to refund our money, we contacted Walmart.com. although, they could not initiate a refund due to the third party seller. They made contact on our behalf due to multiple complaints against this company. Spreetail contacted us in an email stating they are going to refund us due to unable to fulfill our order. I will update if and when we receive our 1000 dollars back from the shady business practices on Spreetails end. LAST UPDATE: per Spreetails usual business practices. I HAD TO PAY 147.00 FOR A ITEM THEY WERE UNABLE TO FULFILL. THE REST WAS RETURNED. DISGRACEFUL

Unfair Refund Practices – Do Not Purchase from Spreetail

Like so many others here, I returned an item (a pool with a defective pump), only to be issued a partial refund—less than 50% of what I paid. Spreetail claims it was due to a restocking fee, despite the item being defective and returned within the proper window.

After reading other reviews, it’s clear this is not an isolated issue. Spreetail routinely applies these unreasonable and unfair charges, penalizing consumers for product issues that are not their fault. It feels deceptive and unethical.

I’ve reached out to their support for a full refund and have also contacted Amazon directly. I’m leaving this review in hopes of both resolving my case and warning others: DO NOT buy from Spreetail, especially for high-ticket items. The risk is not worth it.

Spreetail: If you’re truly committed to resolving issues (as you claim in your responses here), I urge you to do the right thing and issue a full refund.

DO NOT SHOP AT SPREETAIL

This company has unethical business practices. I purchased something through Amazon with this being listed as the retailer I received the package realize that I didn’t need it returned it immediately only opening the box insert the return slip. The item in trial cost me 96 dollars. They would not refund that and hid behind a COMPLETELY MADE UP assertion that I damaged the contents. Since I didn’t even take it out of its packaging that is patently untrue. The acted like they did me a favor by returning me $47 on my purchase and claimed it was this arbitrary restocking fee and due to the alleged damage. They were rude u helpful and are completely unethical. I will be sure to never shop with this retailer again.

They steal money on returns!

As others have complained about, this company has stolen over$100 from me claiming that my return of their product was damaged. The original delivery box had a large tear in the 70+ pound box and no items were removed from the box. How is this my fault? Obviously they are known for this. Do not buy from them!

I ordered a Lafuma zero gravity chair but got a walker instead

I ordered a Lafuma zero gravity chair through AMAZON; I received a Lumex walker from this horrible company Spreetail
Lafuma zero gravity chair: $387.45
Lumex Walker: $214.99
Their resolution was that I should keep the walker and they will refund me $67.39.
When I said no, I don't even need a walker, they made it very difficult for me to return. Reading these reviews, I'm afraid that they will not even fully refund me but will claim that either (a) I'm sending the wrong item or (b) I've somehow opened and damaged the walker or (c) that it's simply their policy not to refund in full.

Edit: they came back with a full refund, so I'm going assume it was just an honest mistake :)

Yakima Ridgeback defective - Restocking Fee??

We ordered a Yakima Ridgeback bike rack from Amazon, that unfortunately got sent through Spreetail. We received the bike rack. We attempted to install the bike rack, but the bracket that the speed knob controlled was defective. It would not actuate the speed knob. It was also missing two screws. After speaking with a rep from Spreetail, they agreed to send a refund after return. Unexpectedly, they sent another bike rack and are now charging a restocking fee. Never have I been charged a restocking fee for a defective product. Stay clear of Spreetail. You can see a clear trend based on other reviews...........

I had the exact same experience as most…

I had the exact same experience as most of these others. They tried to take 20 percent AFTER I already mailed off my return and lied 3 times about why there was a restock fee. I kept showing documentation and proof that what they said was a lie and they would change the reason. Amazon provided a full refund but this company kept trying to say it was Amazon’s policy to charge 20 percent. I reported them and even emailed Amazon leadership about them (including these many complaints). I’ve thought about contacting the lawyer after seeing this because of the fraud and attempted theft.

They literally steal their customers' money

Absolutely horrible company. Grifters who screw over their customers. I purchased a rototiller from Amazon. I used it for less than 5 minutes. It didn't fit my needs so I returned it. They claimed that I "damaged" the item and refunded me LESS THAN HALF OF WHAT I PAID. And they couldn't even describe the so-called "damage!" Because there was none. Multiple attempts to rectify this all ended with the same line. "We found damage so we charged a restocking fee." Such utter BS. So much contempt for a paying customer! If you return a tiller to Walmart, they don't grift you.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY MAKE THEIR MONEY LITERALLY STEALING FROM CUSTOMERS. On what planet should I pay $100 to try out an item?

I will never purchase from them again, and I will leave bad reviews everywhere I can.

Five different ebay orders, five failures to ship

I placed five orders for different products with Spreetail through ebay. Each order was confirmed but never shipped. Spreetail messaged me that it was due to pricing and system errors that the orders were accepted but cancelled the orders with Ebay by saying my address was incorrect. This was likely done to prevent Ebay from taking action like keeping the associated listing fees. Of the five orders, I received half of one of the five orders. When I requested a partial refund for the partial order, Spreetail said I would need to return the items for a refund. How can I return the order when only half of it was fulfilled. Scam company that is dishonest to its customers and Ebay.

This business is a complete scam

This business is a complete scam. Stay away from doing any business with them. Just look at there plummeting eBay rating. And many other dissatisfied customers across other platforms. If you see them as a seller steer clear or you are likely to be scammed as well.

I purchased an EV Charger for about $600, and upon returning the goods (unused and in original packing), was charged over $300 in restocking fees! I was told that "the order appeared to show signs of use or wasn’t in new condition", when, in fact, all I did after opening the package was remove the components to determine that the charger was the wrong charger for me, and then returned the charger in its original packing. I had asked that someone give me a call to discuss, and despite assurance that someone would call me within 48 hours, I received no call. Based on my own experience and their incredibly negative review history (see Trustpilot), I can only assume that making it difficult for customers to get their money back is part of Spreetail’s business model. BEWARE!

FOLLOW-UP: I did finally receive a refund, but only after filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (which followed a conversation with one of Spreetail's customer service reps telling me that there was nothing that they could do). I thank Spreetail for the return of my money, but it shouldn't have been that difficult.

Third time still not a charm

Third time still not a charm. I ordered a 110 gallon Keter storage box. First attempt wrong size. I agreed to drive it to the UPS store for prompt return. Second attempt, box damaged sticker noting like new. I purchased a new item. Was told they would ship a new item and to discard the second attempt. Third attempt, same sticker, was frustrated and assembled anyway. Lid warped. Contacted Spreetail. They said to take it apart, find an appropriate box to put it in and ship it back. I got rid of the box already, and told them that is too much work. They also offered a 25% refund if I keep it. Still waiting on that. Like many here .... frustrated. Not sure how Amazon still allows them to be on the site. I have reported a complaint to Amazon to have them removed.

Never use Spreetail as a 3rd party seller

I ordered a set of dumbbells from Macy's via Spreetail. This was the worse experience that I've ever had with an online order. I placed the order on February 1, 2025. I received a partial order 4 days later and never received the remainder of the order. I called Macy's about the order and Macy's told me it was a Spreetail issue and Spreetail blamed Macy's. I was caught in the middle. It took 30 days to finally get my money back. I would never order any product sold as a 3rd party from Spreetail. The customer service was horrible.

Very dissatisfied with Spreetail

I ordered a product from Spreetail through Amazon Prime that didn’t work for my application. In order for me to return, I have to “self dispatch” which means I have to find my own way to return the product to Spreetail (at my own cost). This is the first time that this has happened to me. I have started a list of companies to avoid and Spreetail is the 1st on the list.
