I entered into a two year contract with Vodafone in 2022. After the contract expired in 2024, I cancelled service and received a notification (that I still have) that my service was cancelled. I later learned in 2025 that Vodafone was STILL billing me (bills sent to my junkmail). Vodafone completely depleted my Netherlands bank account and then continued to bill me after depleting my bank account. I only discovered this problem when they sent delinquency notices to me, including a notification to Prevatel. I have spent the last two months trying to cancel my service (which should have been cancelled in 2024) and trying to resolve the billing issue. Dealing with Vodafone has been ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE. They continue to bill me as of today despite me repeatedly informing them that I do not want their service (and have not used their service for 1.5 years).
Edit: Vodafone's response makes clear that they didn't read my review. I affirmatively cancelled in 2014 and have an email to prove it, but I continued to be billed in 2025. Moreover, the "www . vodafone. nl/contact" is useless to me. I've attempted to contact Vodafone numerous time through this method and no one will help me. I've always been directed to use "MyVodafone.nl," but I cannot log into this service because it sends an SMS to my old phone (that I cancelled and no longer have). Not a useful response -- at all.

I have never seen such a bad customer service structure

I had problems with data roaming for the last few days since my trip abroad despite having EU data and all the relevant settings on. I had been calling Vodafone NL to have this fixed for several days in a row. After checking some of my phone settings over the customer service line, they suggested that I go to a Dutch Vodafone store to check my phone settings again because everything looked ok from their side and nothing else could be done. They recommended that I buy another prepaid card for the duration of my trip as the problem can't be solved while I am abroad! I asked if it was an APN problem, as it seemed to me weird that my phone was connected to something else than the vodafone options and was told that this cannot be changed. Long story short, I used chatgpt to troubleshoot the problem and it was indeed chaning the APN to one of the vodafone options that solved it. Horrible customer service, they basically tell you to go buy something to replace the service they are supposed to be providing.

I can't imagine a worse experience with any company. I started a phone plan with them, and the signal was terrible. I requested to cancel it after one week, which was the trial period they mentioned in their contract, during which I could opt out. I called them, visited many of their stores, and all were clueless. It took me days of calling (literally) to finally cancel the contract. In the meantime, they lost my phone number and trapped me in their bureaucracy- it was horrible. After that, I received two bills totalling €180 for ending the contract. Wasn't that supposed to be the trial period? Furthermore, they don't accept emails or chat; you can only call them or visit their shop. But the call centre doesn't know what happens in the shops, or vice versa. Totally a waste of time and money. The worst phone company I have ever experienced. To this day (more than a month), an issue that seemed so simple to solve remains unresolved.
UPDATE: I received a reply from Vodafone apologising and asking me to contact customer service at their contact page. If only this would work. There is no way to contact Vodafone via chat, email, or message. Only calling or visiting their shops, where they are consistently clueless and give misleading directions. Their page has a chat function that has been inactive for weeks. No contact form. Really shameful. At this point, I feel sorry about their employees and their "collegas" asking each other what to do, and giving wrong answers. But mostly I feel sad about their clients. No one deserves such horrible service.

Complete disaster of a company. We have a household netto income between 8-12k per month, no negative BKR, all bills always paid on time, and Vodafone’s credit department rejects my smartwatch subscription with the comment ‘your application is approved if you redo the process and pay for the device in full’… excuse me? They offer a watch subscription to pair with the iPhone subscription to everyone else but I for some unclear reason have to pay in full.
Credit department staff is outrageously rude, zero customer service training whatsoever, no explanation, just rejection after rejection, even though I’ve provided additional documentation that would prove my financial situation being more than able to pay 27 euros per month on top of my existing phone subscription with them.
Their mobile data network is terrible as well, I never have an internet connection while everyone else I’m with have near 5G speeds.
Go with someone else, Vodafone seems to hate their customers. Worst experience in my life…

Worst customer service ever.I don't have network, I haven't had for about 10 days now. They opened a ticket, didn't hear from them, chatted with them they said "It was a malfunction the ticket is closed" OF COURSE IT'S A MALFUNCTION, the phone does not work! DAH. And she closed the conversation abruptely. Following one, didn't reply. Following one, the same. Following one "you can buy an eSim in the country you are in". EXCUSE ME???? HORRIBLE. And I still haven't solved my problem!!!!

The customer service and the whole system is very very bad!!! I tried to change my contract 5 times and every time they were saying it is changed but then later it appeared that it never wasn’t. Besides that, I am every month paying WAY MORE than the subscription costs. In the end after I decided to cancel the subscription, I had to do it through the online form because you can NEVER reach a customer service agent via phone, to later still receive bills for the next months!!!! Now I literally have no idea what to do, because they are still unreachable by phone, I cannot login to my profile because I obviously did not know I have to pay the months for which I cancelled the subscription, thus the whole situation is just in the air and I will keep receiving bills.
I have lost a lot of energy and health with these guys every time. Honestly, the worst experience ever. Never again buying or having anything in common with this company.

I've never experienced anything like this before. I ordered an unlimited SIM card on 27 October 2025. It was supposed to arrive within two days. On Wednesday, I called Vodafone to say that I hadn't received an email about the SIM card being dispatched. The same thing happened on Thursday and Friday. Today, on Monday, I was told that something had gone wrong with the order and that it had to be re-entered. Now Vodafone wanted to charge me an extra £1.50 per month for the same order. They didn't want to hear my explanation that the error in the system was not my fault, but Vodafone's. I would now have to pay the extra £1.50 per month. It is absolutely outrageous to treat customers this way. I will not sign this order and will now buy my SIM card elsewhere.

Terrible operator! I explained that I needed a SIM card that would work well in the rest of Europe, and they sold me one with the promise that it would work. What a scam! They don't deliver the service they advertise. The SIM card stopped working as soon as we left the Netherlands, and the 40 euros I spent on it was a complete waste! Don't buy it!!! And to make matters worse, when you contact support, they simply ignore you, don't solve anything, and are rude! Never again with Vodafone in the Netherlands!!!!

Despite sending the device for repair twice (July and August 2025), all attempts failed. Due to a total loss of confidence, I have formally rejected your final offer (Ref: 251111-002580) for further repair or replacement with the same model.
Final Legal Demand (Settlement):
Given the clear breach of contract and warranty failure, I demand an immediate final settlement which includes:
Upgrade and Replacement: Exchange of the defective S24 for a brand new Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (a model currently available in your offers).
Comprehensive Financial Compensation: A settlement covering all monthly installments paid since the contract began in December 2024, plus compensation for all wasted time, stress, and "Loss of Use" during this period.

We rang the call center as we where having an issue with the bill. So we got though to a gentleman who was for the most part helpful. At some point on the call the gentleman decided he couldn't help up so we ask to speak to a manger at which point he said he would get a manager put us on hold then left us there for nearly half an hour then proceed to hang up the phone. So I rang back to deal with the issue and make a complaint got through to a girl. I explained the situation to her and she proceed to mute the call via the phone and hang up on me after a few minutes. Ive worked in a call center in the past so I new what she had done and proceed to wait the call out so she had to ether come back on to the line or hang up. The customer service with this company is absolutely deplorable and the upper management need to take a look at there business practices if they think this is acceptable. I will be leaving vodafone at my earliest convenience.

I would agree with you about it being an isolated incident however this happend twice over two members of staff one after another. That suggests to me this is not an isolated incident and if it was a technical issue no one voiced it as such.
It is also not about the outcome at this point. The issue is the customer service or there for lack of customer service.

Terrible experience with Vodafone – do not recommend
I ordered a phone, but when it arrived I didn’t have my passport to receive it. I called Vodafone to find the fastest solution, and they advised me to cancel the order and place a new one. I followed their instructions, canceled the original order, and received a credit note stating I would be refunded within 14 days.
Two weeks later, I placed a new order and received my phone. At this point, I had effectively paid for two phones. The refund for the first order never arrived. This has now been going on for more than 1 month and 3 weeks, and nothing has been resolved.
I contacted customer service multiple times, and each time I received a different answer: “You will get your refund in 5 days,” “Next Monday,” “We can only refund after your new contract” (how does that make any sense?). After repeatedly calling, I was told the issue would be escalated to management and that I would receive a refund in 5 working days. Nothing happened.
Vodafone’s handling of this issue has been absolutely unacceptable. I am left with no choice but to involve authorities, as this feels like outright theft.

Bad customer service support. Their only concern is their profit. Vodafone NL is not clear about the cancellation terms, and they judge as they like.

They waste your time. They say they offer a better deal to stop you from going to another company but then after one week they still don’t match the deal. In the end refuse to cancel the subscription unless I lose the number. So more days to waste.
I reached out to them - after they wasted another 30 minutes of my time, I was not helped as the employee lacked any authority to make any offers that were not on the website. Again when they say they will make a good offer, just don't waste your time. It is always the same offer.

DO NOT USE!!! Vodafone is a huge scam in cancelling their services. I used their phone coverage and my roommate used their phone coverage + wifi combination services. Both of us were overcharged and charged extra months post-cancelling, past the month of cancellation that they informed us that we would be charged. They tried to charge her over 100 when our bill was only 70 and claimed that this was an 'accidental charge that sometimes happens after cancellation and is later refunded' but because she noticed it and went into the store to complain, I'm assuming this is the only context they would actually refund it. For me, I have already moved out of the Netherlands, and do not have access to the SIM I held under them. They were requiring this SIM to make complaints against them. Furthermore, their telephone line starts with an automated robot who only understands Dutch, so if you want to complain about them over the phone and you don't speak Dutch, forget it. I had gone in-store before leaving the country and they informed me that they had cancelled my account and I would be charged one additional month. Two months later I was still being charged. Upon logging into my account, I found there was no such cancellation made. The store clerk outrightly lied........ When I went to put in the cancellation digitally, they asked my reason in a text box for cancellation. I picked 'Other' where it let me explain these horrible experiences, but after writing it all in, they said 'Reason not accepted'. So ultimately, there was also no way to complain or contest their scam. The fact that both my roommate and I had these experiences demonstrates that it is a part of their regular business practice to try to squeeze extra money out of you on your way out the door, and make it very difficult to stop such charges. This review also applies to Ziggo, which tried to scam my roommate.

Terrible company!
I have ordered phone year ago, but they didnt send it to me. Instead, they send a bill 1500€ which I ignored, because I didnt recieved the phone.
They send the bill to incassobureau and they ignore me and never call back. Vodafone also, I called them so many times.
Now this bill is send to another incassobureau and again I need to fight for my rights. I am looking for a lawyer, because I better pay lawyer that Vodafone for something I didnt recieved.
PS
Vodafone made investigation and find the proof, that there was no delivery. They dont send me those documents so I can close case with incassobureau. This is robbery.

I just wanted to share a very bed and a very good experience in one same shop of Vodafone in Amsterdam Noord shopping center Boven 't Ij: while the agent Murat was very friendly and also offered to help us with the action to get watches (because the process is not user friendly at all, as if Vodafone wants to give present but prevents you in getting it by making the process difficult), his colleague Feliks was so rude - first time we asked for help he said it is not my work to help , second time he tried but shortly after gave up and when I asked if he can check if he can use his colleague;s computer to try to solve our problem because we were coming for the third time in the shop for same thing, he started with same attitude and words- it is not our work to do it, or when I reminded him that he had similar attitude before he went on like whatever..who cares... so arogant, with annimosity, I felt at that moment that I would never go or have business with Vodafone again! And if it was not for Murat, I was ready to cancel all my subscriptoins with Vodafone. High time you ensure some of your agents understand what a customer service means and provide them with some training or just get rid of them if they dont change, you will loose customers if you dont do so!

If you expect respect for yourself as a costumer, DO NOT subscribe Vodafone.
I am being charged 50 euros for "using data outside of the EU" when I was on a ferry - which I subscribed for the Wi-fi package. The ferry was between Italy and Greece (two EU countries), I paid 12 euros for a 24h Wi-fi package (sent the transaction to Vodafone to prove it) and they still refused to cancel the 50 euro charge by saying "if the wifi fails for a few minutes it counts as out of EU data". Wow, these were the most expensive few minutes of my life. 50 euros for what they call "bad wifi connection" in a ferry? Between two EU-countries?
No respect at all for their clients. Support chat was awful.
Don't recommend. 100% scam.

Good luck finding a CSR who speak english let alone who can answer your invoicing or subscriptions questions. I asked them if I can get a sim on my samsung watch, they said I have to get an extra subscription for that (as they only support apple watches) which I did but their e-sim still doesn't work on galaxy watch and I got an extra number I don't need.
