Golf GTD, attended garage knowing that the glow plug on number 4 needed replacing, I told them. Still they insisted that they run a diagnostic test, told them over the phone it didn't need it and just wanted the work completing. Wife turned up with the car this morning as I'm in work and they ran a diagnostic test only to find what they have already been told and what we knew. she was then told to change the plug would be £80 (no doubt plus vat, so £96) and we were being charged £60 for the diagnostic (that also would probably include Vat, £72) so for the grand total of £168 I would have one glow plug changed.
Back street garage charging Dealership prices. Unable to follow clear instructions and decide to do what they want to do at the customers cost. No doubt they will try and justify their actions in a response however the facts remain a £20 glow plug at £168 is a ripoff. Save yourself and Avoid!!!
Update- As if by magic my crystal ball was right..Justification from garage, only there is a flaw to their response they didn't deal with me, they dealt with my wife and yet they state I was the one who was angry? keep digging because it's just adding to my poor experience of using your backstreet garage.

Absolutely amazing service, took my vw to them and I cannot fault them at all, had a dsg service, picked her up not long after and they’d washed and vacuumed my car for me! Really good price aswell, was expecting to be charged alot more, definitely only using this garage in future

My car needed considerably more work than I expected, but everything was clearly explained and I was kept fully updated on the costs throughout. The staff were friendly, helpful, and easy to deal with. The car was also cleaned before I collected it, which was a great touch. Excellent service.

First experience with VolksMaster (Heywood branch), they did a few thousand pounds' worth of work on my car, initially it was in for just a full service and MOT but this escalated after they identified some critical work that needed carrying out, no doubt saving me time and money in future.
They supply a video with walk-around showing any issues and briefly explaining the reasoning. These additional items are then clearly sent in a breakdown invoice via email where you can tick on the additional work you want doing, along with the price. Once authorised the team can get on to it while the car is still with them.
I had one misunderstanding with them but it was addressed, they were very responsive and reasonable.
Car was returned washed and lightly vacuumed, though the vac was fairly cursory - large bits still on seats and the boot wasn't touched. It's a bonus most garages don't offer, but worth noting given they advertise it.
I'd use them again, I haven't driven my car yet - it just arrived back but I'll likely take it there for regular servicing in future if everything is as it should be after driving it a few hundred miles.

After being scammed by other garages. I’ve been a customer for around 9 years. Gave them a fair few vehicles over the time and never been disappointed. Their quality of work is excellent and one you won’t find at other independent garages. If I had a jet I’d probably get that fixed here too 😂😂.

What can I say, I know why they are the specialist I bring my car over from Wales to these guys. I had my car in four different garages over here in my area charged me a fortune and car was worse than it went in. My brother in law takes his car to Volks master Ashton road and recommended them so I did they have sorted my car right out diagnosed every problem and fixed it still need to go back a few more times to get my car spot on but at least it is getting there now. All staff are very friendly and accommodating. Big shout out to Kat on reception. You get a cracking video of your car while they inspect it totally transparent. Real technicians obviously trained by old school lads. Seriously take your car here.

Recently took my Audi TT for a full service. First time I've used Volksmaster. Overall very positive experience with updates provided during the service to advise on progress of work and collection time. Follow up made the next day to ensure there were no issues. Video of vehicle condition helpful. Professional service - main dealer standard with personal touch.
Only concern related to parking. Once completed the car was moved to a public road - it wasn't a major risk but I would have preferred the car to have been kept on the forecourt.

Took my audi A3 for inspection due to unusual noise, issue diagnosed and repaired on the same day!! Car now runs perfect. Great customer service. Also had a follow up phone call to make sure I was happy and everything was ok with the car. Will be returning for future work! Thanks.

Friendly service, as planned smooth drop off and job completed in good time and clear communication.
ONLY slight gripe, and it's small. I know site is short on space, and vehicles are parked locally on street or adjacent apartment car park. Writing the ACTUAL location on the back of the paper tag attached to keys when your staff park it up would be helpful, instead of customers walking about in the rain trying to find their own car (mine was right up near the Courts) after being sent to adjacent car park or on the road outside.

Ive been a customer at Volksmaster ever since it opened, first with Volkswagens and now with a BMW. Its a totally reliable company with well informed staff. Last week was a good example. I had an MOT and a new battery. Helpful comments and no unnecessary repairs proposed. Jack the technician who fitted the battery showed me how to take the boot apart to disconnect the battery when I am away for long periods ... the sort of help that is very rare from main dealers.

After paying £105 for an initial inspection of my Audi Q3 I was asked to rebook a further two hours for more inspection a further £210 !! I had an appointment today at 10.00 - I returned at 12.00 and the car had not been touched saying they had been very busy !!! No call to explain- killing two hours in Heywood is no mean feat !! Be warned.
Update - the manager called me today (26th) with apologies and an offer to half the two hour inspection cost and collect and deliver my car ! A very appreciated gesture - all good !!
