Shocking company

Shocking company. Its basically a scam. Have had 3 boilers covered with this company 2 of which they condemned only looking to sell me a new boiler at sky high prices.
You are better off contacting your boiler manufacturer and taking a policy with them.
They don't even contact you to arrange the annual service. I had to chase them 16 months after mine was due , they said they would get the 3rd party engineer to contact me . Guess what I had to call them 3 times and only after asking for all my premiums back did they finally sort engineer. This is not a reflection on their engineers, my guy was good that said one of their other sub-contractors terminated my boiler and disconnected the pipework. Took a policy with D&G and the Vailant engineer fixed the boiler no problem.
They prey on people with older boilers as the contract only replaces your boiler based on what is worth which is f--k all after say 5 years so they will never pay out.
Terrible experience all round but if you like holding on for ages and dealing with an Indian call centre go for it!

I took out a policy with the warranty…

I took out a policy with the warranty people paid by direct debit monthly. Tried to get a service but had to wait a while for one!! Finally booked one. The day before the service the warranty people called to say the engineer was sick!!!! & unable to come to do my service the following day! I questioned this as to how they knew the engineer would be sick on the day of my service!! Also I was annoyed as I had arranged the day off work ad they stated that the call would be from 08.00 am till 6.00 pm!! Therefore a full day!! I stated was unhappy as arrangements had been made. The person said he would definitely check they could come & do the service & said he would call me back!! The person from the warranty people rang me & stated that they would be able to come & service the boiler the next day!!! You can imagine my annoyance when I received a phone call at 12.55 pm to tell me the engineer would not be coming due to sickness!!! I was furious!! I was also informed they had taken the £15.99 I had agreed to pay for a carbon monoxide unit which was to be fitted at the time of the service!!! I rang up to speak to a manager who as usual was not available but would call me back!!! I stated that I was extremely disappointed & unhappy with the service! I was offered the reimbursement of the carbon monoxide unit & £10.00 for the inconvenience!!! What an insult!!! They offered me another appointment but did not understand why I wouldn’t book another appointment losing more money on my account ie loss of wages etc along with the cost of the phone call I made!! They basically made me feel they were doing me a favor offering me my money back for the unit & £10.00 disgusting. They then had the audacity to say I had to give them notice to cancel the policy!! They have basically taken money from me & have not fulfilled their contract!! Do not use this company. I will probably end up cutting my losses but let’s see if I get a manager callback!! I will not hold my breath.

Cancellation of policy difficulties -customer support 24/7 service ineffective

Got a homecare policy set up on 3rd Oct in error and rang them up on 4th Oct to explain and to make the cancellation before a direct debit got set up.
It is a 24/7 service that is promised by them. I immediately rang the salesman and he said we had to write to them. I asked if he could give their email and he said I would have to call back the next day. The get-out clauses and lack of customer support are designed to make things as difficult as possible. Thankfully I have British Gas Homecare level 4 for the cover. And on this basis with contracts, I would not recommend this company. I am not sure how good they are on the actual Homecare side of their business, but so far our experience is not positive. Have written a letter with my cancellation notice- policy is WP462513. Within my direct-debit 14 day cancellation period. Sorry, this is the only way to get things to be cancelled. Warrantypeople.co.uk, the Noreply email you use is no good and please provide an email also for customers to write to you.

We have had boiler and heating cover…

We have had boiler and heating cover for many years with different insurance companies. However, we tried this company after receiving recommendations from family and friends on how efficient and competent is Warranty People. I can honestly say I have been with the company a few months and their customer care is exemplary, the contractors they use to service our boiler were competent, helpful and friendly. Therefore, I will not be looking to swap from warranty people to another provider.

Happy with warranty people

I’ve been with warranty people for a good couple of years and just renewed my contract for another year, although luckily my boiler etc have not had a problem over the period, for getting an annual service they have been great, my boiler was last serviced 3 days ago, the engineer was punctual contacting me first giving 2hr time slot, he was very polite, seemed efficient and made no mess, he explained I would receive a report via email, he was COVID secure wearing a mask etc, all together I was extremely satisfied with the engineer and warranty people

be careful when buying home emergency cover from this company…

be careful when buying home emergency cover...

I got the full unlimited emergency cover from this company.
Everything was good up until I reported my first claim for my boiler breakdown.

When I started the policy they confirmed that un limited cover. But actually when reported boiler break down, they said they will cover only the 60% price of the current market value of the boiler. And they estimated only £360 for my boiler market value hence said they will cover only upto rougly £198. The other catch is, they said the boiler break down has involved £314 parts replacement and since this amount is higher than the £198 so they will not cover anything. And they sent me the new term and conditions which they never sent before. So i have been paying for unlimited cover and at the end when i reported first claim, they said nothing is covered because the fault is heigher then the boiler 60% price i.e. £198.
Very disappointing... Be careful with this company when buying any product from them.
Better buy policy form some other reputed service provider rather than paying these people for covering nothing when actually you need it.

Dear Mr Jain,
Thank you for getting in touch and sharing your experience and feedback with us. We pride ourselves at offeirng the best services possible and would like to apologise if you felt it was not inline with your expectations. We always learn from our customer's feedback and will be sure to improve our services to serve you better.

I have had a chance to look at your account and would like to confirm we have attended to, and paid out on atleast 3 claims(2 pertaining to home emergency and one relating to boiler breakdown) the cost of which far outweighs the premium we have collected from you. One can say that's the whole point of taking out cover and I would agree with you on that. The claims of the few are paid for by the many. So there are no problems there. We are happy to serve you the best we can.

You get unlimited claims and call outs as long as the boiler or appliance in question is not beyond economical repair. This clause is mentioned under "Definitions" on the very first page of our terms and conditions booklet, the link for which is privided to you in your membership scedule. They are also available on every plan details page on our website for easy access.

While we regret you did not have a satisfactory experience, we are satisfied we have shown our duty of care in line with our obligations to you.

If you would like to discuss the matter further, please feel free to email feedback@warrrantypeople.co.uk and a member of our teal will be happy to assist you further.

Regards,

Warranty People.

Shambolic Company

Shambolic Company
If i could give it zero stars i would. Worst company in the world. Make you buy boiler inspection for £60 and convince you that it will lower the premiums. Then after inspection they tell you you have faults and want £327 for repair costs. So what is the actual cover for then. PLEASE TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!! I will be going to trading standards regarding their very dubious practices and will be setting up a social media blog to let everyone know that they are a company which should be avoide at all Costs.
Also note they only reply to people who put up good reviews

Dear Mrs McNee,
Thank you for getting in touch and sharing your feedback. We always appreciate hearing from our customers as that enables us to improve our service to serve you better. I have reviewed your account and would like to mention the following:

At point of sale you mentioned the boiler had not been serviced for over 2 years. We mentioned we carry out a boiler service after 8 months of your staying on cover. We also gave you the option of having your boiler serviced with in the next 28 days by making an upfront payment of £60. This would result in your premium being reduced by £5 per month to ensure you do not over pay for the rest of the year. you agreed to take that option, paid the £60 upfront and we carried out the service with in the next 28 days. Your monthly direct debits payment was reduced by £5 which should have reflected on your first payment to us in line with what the agent explained on the phone.

In terms of the faults, our terms and conditions state the following:

"During yourservice, if the engineer finds yourboiler has faults which cannot be repaired under your service agreement, they will provide you with an advisory note detailing any remedial work that should be undertaken. Remedial work following a service is not covered under your service agreement. Please note if you instruct us to arrange for any remedial repair work you will be fully responsible for any costs in terms of both labour and parts. We will not indemnify or guarantee any remedial work arranged between the customer and engineer direct"

You advised us there was nothing wrong with the boiler at point of sale and that it was in perfect working order. Had we been informed otherwise, we would not have offered you terms of cover because we do not cover existing faults. We carried out the boiler service with in 28 days of your initial sign up and thus were not liable to fix any existing faults highlighted upon servicing the boiler. This is clearly mentioned on Page 5 in our terms and conditions.

Once the service was complete and the faults highlighted, the engineer showed and explained the damage to you.

It is pertinant to mention you are not obliged to accept our Approved Engineers’ recommendations for additional repairs, although you will be unable to apply for subsequent repairs under membership plan until the Approved Engineers’ recommendations have been adhered to or until another accredited professional has deemed that your boiler complies with regulatory standards.

If you disagree with anything I have mentioned or would like to speak to us then please feel free to call us on 0333 996 9888 and we will be happy to assist you furtrher.

tried to book first ann service, asked to pay £60.00 up front not explained by rep when I enquired, very off putting.
also to open i phone app required phone call to cust services
again not very helpful to new customer.
agent did explain the reduction to monthly D D payments but this was after asking for booking fee up front.
all things considered a bit disconcerting to new customers.
