Everything that I have bought from Wellers, I have been satisfied with. Some have been high value items. The two areas which I think they should look at are:
1. The fees charged to buyers are on the higher side and should be reviewed on a regular basis and advertised for each and every auction.
2. As far as I am concerned, there is a ridiculous practice of charging the buyer 10p to bid in the auction. On one of the reviews, it was said that there are no online fees, but I believe this to be in contravention of that.

The web platform is reasonably intuitive and the photos and descriptions are good. It is important to take the commission into account when bidding.

I’ve been asked to review. Based on my experience of Wellers Auctions in Guildford. I would assure folk to avoid. Why? I used them for a few months, quite extensively at first but soon the issues began. You’ll end up with missing essential things you bought, with no way to find them, items listing as new that were not new, items listed as working and not working and much more item issues. Next you would find it hard to get hold of them so you would have to physically visit them when no one responds and they have no way or system that caters to this these problems, I would regularly be there to complain about a missing item, part, not as described or missing refund and it took up more and more time. I often would have conversations with other unhappy customers waiting too. Plus the premium they charge is a profit breaker. Have since found much better Auction houses. You’ve been warned.

I have been their customer for a while now and I must tell I will be moving to another online bidders. Here is why:
1. DAMAGED GOODS LISTED AS NOT DAMAGED
I purchased few chandeliers with the bowl shades - in pics they used for bidding, they were all complete and unbroken. When I arrived to collect them, they were all broken but one. When I asked them how is this possible (my official argument was that they broke them all after the bidding ended, but the real reason was they were lying, these shades were broken and they put them on anyway to get rid f of them). I won it for £9 (I wondered why nobody bit on it, but now I know - don't bid on stuff that has glass/shades and if you do bid, consider it broken even when the pic shows its not). I looked online and one ball-shaped shade would cost me cca £20 from China. These guys were very happy to refund me £9 quid rather than pay me £120 for 6 shades. This happened twice.
2. PACKAGING
during another bid, I won 3 old iMacs which they posted over to me. You could not believe how they were packed - two iMacs were against each other (screen to screen) with no padding/filling inbetween or around them and guess what?! the screen broke. I had a lot of arguments with them over emails and phone them saying its not their mistake. Finally, I got it refunded after reporting business practices but now I cant bid much as the only way to get the item is to go there in person to collect it because these people will not even pack the items so that the courier I book myself, wont be able to collect, even I am paying for it.
3. DELIVERIES
AW will not deliver any items to you, nor will they pack them for the courier to collect it. So even if I was happy to pay DPD to come and collect my parcel (which in many cases its just as small as shoe box), they wont be able to collect it because the AW will not even pack them and so courier will not collect loose items as they would be liable for the damages.
So my only option is to book a zipcar (dont own a car), and pay extra £30 (if traffice between London and Guilford is good) to collect my items on top of winning bids, BP, VAT....and all those other fees they add up.
4. ITEMS' CONDITIONS
Items are mostly not checked ie. "sold as seen" which means many items will not be working. It happened to me many times. So they use it to their advantage, cos if there is a not working item they just dont say much in description except "not fully tested" or "not tested" and so they are passing the full risk on to you. Clever
Moving to other online auction sites.

I wanted a used Circular Saw and saw one in the auction with Weller’s, so I bid and was successful. I arranged to collect it and made the 25 mile trip to Guildford. When I arrived a very pleasant member of staff went off to get it for me but came back and said it “couldn’t be found”. It was a bright yellow Ryobi saw, so I presume “couldn’t be found” meant it had been stolen. I was really unhappy, as I had wanted the saw, but why couldn’t Wellers have told me prior to my leaving home!
EDIT: How kind of Andy at Weller’s to reach out and contact me about the missing item.

So after winning an item on a timed auction at a low price Wellers then emailed saying that there was issues with the timed auction and certain lots were being relisted for another 24 hrs. The item that I won at a low price was relisted and goes up and up, but strangely they only relisted high value items, seems odd and unfair as technically I won the item!

Great auction site. But bear in mind to make sure you read the descriptions carefully.

Seams like every time i put in a max bet just cuz i want to get a item, when it gets close to the end, if someone dosen't overbid me but just binds on the item it resets the timer, and so on untill the bidding gets close to my maximum bid. I do get a email when i pun a maximum bid, gest i cant lower that afterwards. So they do have access to my maximum bid, and that kinda is a way for inside people to increase the bid close to my maxim. Also with the vat and buyers premium and buyers premium vat you get a little over 50% on the total cost.

Yes you can get a bargain if you are very lucky! Since they started "No Viewing" they seem to have taken the opportunity to get rid of a load of junk that does not work. Described as "Lights up" or "minimal signs of use", mean they are probably not working. Unfortunately, I have brought stuff from them and they were mostly rubbish or did not work. Latest trick is to take 10P out of your credit card when you register to bid! They will return it but only if you ask! Most people would not bother but it soon builds up. They must be desperate to get your money. Last note, as there is no viewing, they should come under the 28-day rule where you can return if not happy. Good Luck.

I've been a customer for a while now and had come really good bargains.
Wellers are an auction house - they are upfront in their descriptions, and the fact that they're selling customer returns, lost items etc - you factor that into the price that you pay for an item. Sometimes you buy an electrical item for around half it's retail value, and find that it just needs a new fuse - other times it's beyond repair. Some people don't get that though...
Only thing to be aware of is the fees on top of the hammer price, but that's the same with any auction.

Reply from Wellers Auctions Ltd
Anything that plugs in you buy at your own risk. 'Powers up' 'minimal sign of use' etc. DOES NOT mean the item works.
I would seriously avoid this bunch of hustlers.
SCAM ALERT, SCAM ALERT

The customer service is terrible, reception staff respond to queries like they are doing the world a favour! It really puts me off bidding and I dread the after sale communication, dead end, one way and blunt replies! Does this kind of service still exist in the world?!

Really disappointed in the after sales with Weller Auctions Ltd.
This company will find any way out of refunding you any money after miss selling you a product.
When a company states a product turns on that means it works right?
No apparently not!
It means it just turns on, and nothing more.
This company are not transparent when selling items.
It could be their is parts missing, its second-hand, does not work, ripped.
So if you don't ask, then it's tough luck.
They don't answer the phone, you have to leave a message.
Emails only get responded when it suits and want payments made.
BEWARE!!
