Wessex Mazda Cribbs Causeway - appalling sales experience

Had a very bad sales experience at Wessex Mazda Cribbs Causeway. I ordered a new car in March and after waiting the expected 9 weeks for delivery, during the week I was to pick it up, the dealership admitted that a mistake had been made and they could not justify the discount that had been applied and sell at the agreed price and I was forced to cancel my order. I am disappointed at the outcome at what should have been an exciting purchase.

Mazda serviced at Wessex Bristol… mixed outcome!

Had my Mazda serviced at Wessex Bristol Pennywell Road - big service, both oil and brake fluid change. Very friendly staff who were helpful every time I spoke to them - that's the good! The not so good was that I had a brake system/handbrake warning light on after the service. Opened the bonnet to find the brake fluid reservoir lid was missing and found it in the engine compartment. Brake fluid level looked lower than it should be after a fresh change. Called them up and to their credit I was able to take it straight back in to be looked at. They topped up the brake fluid and 'tightened the handbrake' and gave the car a clean. So far so good, but I was left disappointed at the lack of attention to detail from the service department. So, great front on house staff, slightly dubious about the mechanics!

Wessex Garages Nissan Hadfield Road, Service experience.

Wessex Garages Nissan Hadfield Road. Poor customer service is an understatement! We bought our Nissa Qashqai (2nd hand, only a few years old) from another dealer in Gloucester. The warranty provided us with piece of mind that we could take the car to any nissan dealership should we have a problem.
We took our car to Hadfield road on 3 occasions to sort out the same problem of a rattle behind the dash near the passenger side behind the glove box. Three occasions they claimed to have fixed it, only find the same fault when we had the car back.
They take no responsibility their failures, and offer no apologies for the huge inconvenience caused.
On the 1st occasion, I took the car in for 9am Mondaymorning. Had a courtesy car, and returned at 2pm. My car was still in the car park. I watched them drive it around to the repair shop, and by 4pm was told that it would need to come back for a week as the dash would need to be removed (something I was told when booking it in). 2.5 hrs in the workshop in total and that includes the courtesy wash and hoover (for which we are grateful).
On the 2nd occasion, arrived early Monday morning to drop the car off for the week as suggested by them due to the need to remove the dash. Tuesday Morning, Rob phoned to say the car was ready, they found a poorly fitted heater housing and so the dash need not come off. I picked the car up and within a few miles, the same annoying rattle returned.
I contacted them to re book... a month later (This is now 3 months post purchase).
3rd occasion, dropped the car in Tuesday morning for the week. 11days later no contact from them, I was doing all the chasing. They apparently found a loose part behind the Radio (nowhere near the location of the rattle behind the glove box foot well). They claimed to have test driven it and fixed.
I test drove the car 1st this time, got in and noticed the temp was set to a sweltering 30 degrees! The car was boiling which means they must have had it running whilst waiting for me to collect. No rattle could be heard on the short test drive, however, when the car temp inside cooled to a reasonable temperature, the rattle returned, leading me to think they warmed the car up inside to expand all the plastics and to mask the fault.
I emailed them to say I had lost all faith in their serive department (and front of house sales), requesting a service manager email address. Not one email or phone call to offer an explanation or apology for the inconvenience caused.
VERY poor customer service!!!
Avoid!!!
I am now looking for another more reputable dealer.

Avoid this garage.

Avoid this garage.
Took my brand new Kia EV6 to Wessex Garages (Feeder Road, Bristol) because the centre console wouldn’t open. Lisa initially seemed helpful and confirmed that forcing it open might cause damage, but it would all be repaired under warranty.

After they forced it open, the lid was broken (as expected) but there were also new scratches on the main console body. I assumed these would be repaired. When I returned two weeks later, only the lid had been fixed—the scratches were still there. I was then told, incredibly, that their engineer didn’t cause the scratches, even though they admitted these weren’t there when I first brought the car in. They were effectively accusing me of causing the damage.

I was promised a call from the manager, Ryan. Weeks later, still nothing, despite chasing.

I won’t be returning. The lack of accountability and the implication that I was being dishonest were both unacceptable. I’ll use another garage and will be reporting this to Kia.

Paul helped me with advice

Paul helped me with advice, he was very polite. Full of knowledge. Booked a time for me to go to the garage. He was veru punctual. Offered a beverage. Took plenty of time to let me look around. Quick to respond to questions. Great after care. Called me to check everything was ok. If I needed any more help with my new car. It was very smooth, no stress at all. I recommend asking for him if you go to the cardiff branch. 😀

Get your own breakdown

My daughter bought a car from Wessex and it has already needed recovery three times!!!
Every time she calls the “included” breakdown cover, they say the car isn’t registered. She’s now been told a no-coolant fault isn’t covered unless she can prove a leak – leaving her stranded and unsafe by the roadside.
The breakdown cover is effectively useless. If you buy from Wessex, I’d strongly recommend arranging your own recovery cover.

Avoid Wessex KIA Bristol

Very very disappointed with Wessex KIA Feeder Rd Bristol.
Sportage developed EML fault on Sept 13th & reported to KIA Bristol
Unable to book car in until 5th Nov. OVER 7weeks away. My car failed its MoT due to this fault so legally unable to use it.
Reception staff very unhelpful & unsympathetic. When questioned about the book in date, stated that they thought it was a good advert for them , showing how busy they were. ??? .......(Couldn't quite work that one out).
Following advice from KIA UK tried KIA Chippenham whose Service staff were exceptional. Booked car in @ short notice, & fixed fault.
Wessex KIA Bristol could certainly learn a lot from Chippenham Service staff

Excellent experience

We have just picked up out new Kia Sportage from Wessex Kia Newport. From start to finish the service and help given to us by Rhiannon and salesman Jed Powell was fantastic.
They did their absolute best and matched us with the right car and package. They answered all our questions , they were very attentive and put at ease.
The handover was smooth and informative and we drove away as very happy customers . Excellent customer service from start to finish . Thank you very much . Rob and Jue Ash.

Great experience at Kia

We've just bought a new car at Wessex in Newport where we had the pleasure in dealing with an amazing salesman named Jed Powell. He was extremely knowledgeable about the cars and nothing was too much trouble for him during the process. I can't recommend Jed or the dealership highly enough if you are looking to buy car from Kia.

Cardiff branch are taking phones off…

Cardiff branch are taking phones off people and filling in their reviews and naming themselves in it lol. This is clearly evident. The service isn't very good either the sales team don't even know the products capability. It's lucky that Hyundai are not a bad brand but avoid the Cardiff branch if possible. My new car on collection hasn't even been cleaned properly, they couldn't set up the blue link. JUST DON'T READ THE GOOGLE REVIEWS IT IS WRITTEN BY THE STAFF

Terrible service Kia Bristol

I'm very disappointed with the service at Kia Bristol. A few years ago, after buying a car from you and returning it under warranty, it was damaged, and no one would properly repair it. I promised myself I wouldn't buy anything from Kia again. Years later, you're sending me an upgrade offer. I thought I'd give you a chance because I'm looking for a new SUV. I made an appointment at 1:30 PM and arrived early. They told me I had to wait 10 minutes. I waited 30 minutes and no one helped me. So, I politely thanked them for my time while waiting for someone who didn't show up. I went to Hyundai, where I received excellent service. I think Kia could learn from them how to treat customers. If I were Kia, I'd consider some training for their staff to avoid losing customers.

We recently purchased a two-year-old…

We recently purchased a two-year-old car and were surprised to find that the keyless fob battery had failed. When we tried the spare fob, that did not work either.

I contacted Kia Bristol Wessex Garage and was told this issue is not covered under warranty. I find this very disappointing, as I would have expected both fobs to be checked and working at the point of sale, and for a better level of service in response.

I asked them to confirm why this was not addressed during the pre-delivery inspection, and what steps will be taken to resolve this matter? They said they did but clearly did not.
